Gu old-mother-who-had-worked-painstakingly-hard Nian finally concluded her crash course who yielded little to no result and also went to give Geng Hongyu to deliver him a progress report.
“How did it go?” asked Geng Hongyu as he flipped through the script. “Did you feel that Luo Xiu has comprehended the role?”
Gu Nian, suppressing her conscience that was trying to struggle free, and said, “Yes, more or less.”
Geng Hongyu raised his brows. “What exactly do you mean by ‘more or less’?”
Gu Nian, “It meant that the actor had done the best that he could. The rest are all my fault”
Geng Hongyu, “……”
Assistant Director Lin, sitting next to them, interjected with a smile. “Your script is pretty good. How is it the screenwriter’s fault when the actor isn’t measuring up? Gu Nian, do you think you are shielding Luo Xiu a little bit too much?”
Gu Nian gave him a very solemn look. “He is a newbie actor with limited experience and I failed to take that into consideration. As much, it is all my fault – I am an adult who can own up to her own mistakes.”
Geng Hongyu, “……”
Geng Hongyu couldn’t listen to this any longer and sent her on her way resentfully.
As soon as Gu Nian had walked away, he turned and gave Assistant Director Lin a stare. “Where did you find this clown from? She is so young but I am not sensing any ambitious aura from her at all. I have never seen a girl as languid as she is.”
Assistant Director Lin smiled and said, “But you must admit that her script is top-notch.”
Geng Hongyu hrumphed and did not respond to that.
As though remembering something, Assistant Director Lin said seriously, “Speaking of scripts, our Screenwriter Zhuo writing is pretty mediocre other than having the label of being Mengzhi and a beauty. With her ability, do you really think she can be that Mengzhi?”
Geng Hongyu frowned. “I am not sure about that one but she has steep background. It’s best that we don’t offend her.”
Assistant Director Lin, “As steep as her background might be, it can’t rival that of the Luo’s.”
Geng Hongyu paused for a little. His look a little bit dodgy.
After being silent for a long while, he finally said, “It is still uncertain whether Luo Xiu has anything to do with the Luo’s. I still don’t believe that someone from the Luo’s will come to mess around with a production cast.”
Assistant Director Lin smiled. “Sure, sure. Whatever you say…. Oh, shoot!”
Geng Hongyu, “What’s the matter?”
Assistant Director Lin looked at the direction that Gu Nian had left from and said, “I forgot to remind her that Zhuo Yixuan is going to be at the studio today and have her watch out for that.”
“……”
Gu Nian ran into Zhuo Yixuan outside of the restroom.
Over here, the vanity was located outside of the restroom and shared by everyone, males and females. Gu Nian walked out of the restroom and walked over to wash her hands with a languid look.
For three days in a row, she had been giving Luo Xiu crash course in the day time and touching up on the script at night, trying her best to lower the difficulty of the role of Yun Tan. She was pretty exhausted.
After dealing with Geng Hongyu, she had nothing left in her. She was in a sleep-walking state and felt like she was walking on cotton.
As she was sleeping-walking, Gu Nian seem to have heard a female’s voice coming from one side of the sky.
And it was aimed toward he no less.
Gu Nian looked up and saw in the mirror: a woman standing behind her who couldn’t have looked more arrogant with a sarcastic look on her. She red lips opened and shut repeatedly.
As though she was talking to her.
“…. This is what you get for being stupid enough to fight me over it. Now you worry about Director Geng giving you a hard time and hide here and cry on your own? Pathetic.”
