2nd Sukurach of Fezariel 1236

Beno's POV

It has been almost a week since I ran away from that dungeon. I have been literally avoiding every single settlement in order to avoid any attention. Well of course I still hunted some humans. Occasionally I would run into some foragers or lumberjacks. Though I need to be glad that God gave me this skill. Thanks to that I don't really need to stop down to slowly chip the meat off. I could just store them and craft them into usable meat and bones. The disgusting part is also converted into silage too! The best part is I don't need to even see them! I can just press some simple buttons and it's done! I remember playing some games like this before but I can't really remember. I remember the god says that this skill is called, [ Creation Inventory ]. As long as it is a recipe that is available and I have the ingredients, I could directly get the results! Though there is something like a processing time for it. But nothing I cant wait for!

Well, the skill is good... if only I have more spaces. I only have 10 slots of inventory... and currently half of it is full. I currently have 229 kg of human meat, 40 kg of bones, 25 kg of silage, and 800 grams of wild berries. That's 4 slots already. Originally there are even more items, like wild carrots, various fruits, and even twigs. But then I feel that I could get those stuff once I settled down that I threw away all the twigs, ate the carrots and fruits first then only I have 4 slots occupied with those. It is too bad that I threw away the armor of the guards I killed before too. It's too space-consuming since each part is separated. But it is a good thing that I could store the 4 swords within the same slot. Feels good.

According to what I know from Kent's description, I should be on the east side of the continent. As long as I don't go too near to the coast, I should be safe from human detection. But this time, I'm thinking of not making a house on the ground. I don't want the same thing as last time to happen again. This time I'm going to dig underground and make a hatch to go back to the surface, an underground shelter. Since what I need is to avoid the attention of the humans, the best way is to go incognito underground. Though I don't like staying underground, if it means I won't be captured and tortured again... it's an important sacrifice...

In order to hide the entrance to my underground hideout, I cut out one of the largest bush I could find near my spot and placed it at the entrance. Perfect. So perfect... I forgot to make the actual entrance first... I am literally just chopping a bush to put it somewhere else. It's not even hiding anything as... there's nothing to hide at all...

STUPID ME!!!

I continued to use the next few areas to at least dig out some area underground to hide myself in. I chopped a few trees in the surrounding as the pillars to the entrance of my hideout. I don't want the soil to topple down when I'm sleeping. After making sure that the hideout. Though it is only a rectangle that is about 3 meters deep. But it is fine by me. I can add extra stuff later. Because I have this skill, I used the logs that I chopped to create some wooden boards. It is a crude one that almost looks like it's just stripping the outer bark of the wood, but it works fine, the color blended pretty well with the nearby dirt and I could just place some dirt on it, plant the bush on it and I'm fine.

Unlike other species, I don't really need sunlight as I could see in the dark perfectly fine so I also don't need to make lightings that fast too either! When the rough outline of my hideout is complete, I went inside it and checked my inventory.

Currently inside my inventory is 229 kg of human meat, 40 kg of bones, 25 kg of silage, 210 meters of 10-inch spruce logs, 300 twigs, and 5 kg of leaves... and almost 4 tons of dirt... I should turn this into compressed dirt bricks, like how I did in the dungeon back then. It is a great way to waste time and it would make my shelter looks better. It is not like I want to live here for long, but at the very least I don't want to look pitiful to live in a plain old dirt cave... and so, I wasted the entire night compressing all those dirt into dirt bricks... through the system of course! Who am I to do these things one by one when it could be completed by something as useful as a system!

At the time I am done, the 4 tons of dirt has been turned into 400 compressed dirt bricks. Not a lot but should be good enough. I saw the humans used mortar or plaster to fix the bricks together... But I don't think I can get my hands on them without going near to their settlements. What could I use to fix these bricks together... just placing them on top of each other doesn't feel right too...

Think Beno... your previous life should help...

Maybe I could use mud... they do have nearly the same color and is sticky so it should be enough to hold the bricks together right? I guess I know what I will be doing tomorrow morning then.

Wait, where should I get mud from even... I can't go near rivers... there's a lot of humans there. Argh, I don't want to think anymore! Let's just sleep and see how things go on then!

3rd Sukurach of Fezariel 1236

It's a new day and a new day means new work! Now, how the heck should I stick these bricks into the wall!!! I went out of my shelter, and fly up in order to search my surroundings. I heard there's a type of mineral called gypsum that is used to make plaster or mortar, maybe I can use that to make the walls. As I fly higher, I realized one thing. This continent is really flat... there are rarely any mountains here... I guess the only highlands here is the plateau in the center of the continent. Argh, whatever... I'll just use water and dirt to stick them together... at least it's better than nothing.

I'm hungry... let's eat some food.

I landed down onto the ground and took out the meat that I got from humans... wait, can I use this system to cook stuff? Let's try it...

Meat + Fuel -> Cooked Meat

Great... can I use these leaves as fuel, or should I use the twigs? I think twigs will be better, since the meat doesn't go bad in the inventory, at least that's what the guide said, let's cook all the meat that I got! And the result is... I don't have enough twigs to cook even 25 kg of meat! Great!

But at least I have some cooked meat. Let's give it a try...

It is not bad... but I feel like it could be better. Oh well, can't be too picky. It's still food after all.

After eating the meat, I start to think about what I should do during the timing of waiting for them to finish hunting the culprit. The first thing I need is to definitely improve my own mana capacity. Even though my strength is high, it consumes a lot of mana. And I am very sure training to exhaust your mana doesn't increase your mana capacity, since I have already exhausted my mana for a few times especially during the time where I had to literally use up all of my mana just to regenerate my own body. Then what could I use... I think I should still pay a visit to the humans... One is to gain some valuable materials such as gypsum and the likes, other is to see if there are various types of minerals that I could get.

But by flying so far, I haven't seen a single village or town that seems to be focused on mining. Most of them are just agriculture-focused villages. So I guess my best shot would be the towns near the plateau... Guess that's where I'm going then. After dumping everything inside my inventory except the cooked meat, I start flying to the plateau. This fix that the God made is quite good. I can fly normally and don't need to waste my mana on it.

After a short 30 minute flight, I can see the plateau now. It is best that I don't go too close as I don't want them to notice me. Checking the surroundings I can see that some villages are mining-focused compared to the mostly agriculture-focused villages in the flatlands. Great, let's go there and check it out. Once again after I landed, I hide all of my draconic characteristics. Another benefit from the fix God made.

I just realize one thing, except for the major cities and trading centers, the other villages have no walls at all. They didn't even bother to build a palisade! Well, it is good for me so yet again, I won't complain. This time again, I tried to sneak towards the warehouses, this time, the warehouses mostly have at least 2 guards guarding each entrance. Some even have patrols within the perimeters of the warehouse. Damn it, I am pretty sure that the warehouse with patrols are going to contain better loot. Should I take the risk or play safe first...

...

That wasn't so hard... These guys can't even react to me stabbing them... I guess it's worth taking the risk then. I then stored the human bodies in my inventory and dismantled them. Why did you ask, cause somehow each corpse takes up a slot, so to save slots I have to dismantle them, even then it will take 3 slots, but it is better to have that than to have 6 corpses taking up 6 slots.

After dealing with the guards, I went inside and holy... There are crates everywhere... and the most important thing is that... they don't freaking label the crates! Are you telling me I have to search them one by one??? That's just plain annoying!  That's it! I'm too lazy to search through these crates. Time to hit another warehouse.

...

6 guards dead again... Why aren't they having much training... Like literally, I just jumped, two dead, wait for the patrols to come here, another two dead, and head towards the guards at the opposite side, last two dead... They didn't even resist... It's like they are yelling, here dragon, accept these 6 bodies worth of meat as a sacrifice...

Inside the warehouse is yet again mountains of crates. This time, however, it's labeled! Though it is labeled crudely with simple words, it is enough for me already. At least I could just go and find the crate I wanted and store its contents into my inventory. Let's see, I have 5 inventory slots left. One of them would be for gypsum, if possible the other 4 I wanted to get some iron and gold. Iron because it's useful, gold because... its gold... do you need to have a reason to get gold?

Within the warehouse are around 30 crates of gypsum, 10 crates of iron, and 1 single crate of gold. Of course, there are other metals but these are my first targets. I saw that there is a small amount of steel stored so that became my next target, 5 crates of steel, but before I was able to decide what should I put in the last slot, I heard the guards had raised an alarm. I guess too many people went missing that they started to be wary of what's happening. Well, I guess it's time to run.

" Guards, did you found out who is the culprit that stole my cargo?" A fat man said.

" We are sorry sir, we have found nothing that could be related to the culprit, but we suspect is from Sir Pakt. His guards went missing during the search and his warehouse is also intact." one of the guards said.

" Damn it! So you have been planting spies within my company since ages ago huh, mark my words! I will make you pay!" the fat man said.

Though this incident is totally unrelated to Sir Pakt, due to the absolute coincidences, he became a target of another local mining company for sabotage operations. Though in the very end, both of them went bankrupt due to the mines in that town closing down and lost their only metal suppliers.
