Lucy's POV

After Bell finally fell asleep and a very tortuous time for moving us away from her and letting her lean onto the wall to sleep without waking her up... we went back to the table where the questionable steaks are there...

" So what do we do with these steaks... I am not really sure if I really want to eat a steak made from my friend's flesh..." I said while feeling a bit weird about the sight in front of me...

" I'd say you all start eating. It doesn't matter whether you want or not... she would just shove it to you and if you don't want to, she would think her cooking has degraded, at least that is what she claims when she cooks for us two." Flux the older human said while he went ahead and grab one of the plates and sat down at the corner. His brother did the same too. I guess this is normal for them... but it isn't for us...

" I would follow what the humans said... the last thing I want to do is make that lass cry because she thinks her cooking isn't good. At the very least, not after she just cried so hard like that." Neo said as he also went ahead and grab one plate. But none of them start eating.

" What about you Jasai, you gonna eat? She is a former earthling too." I said towards Jasai.

" What can I do... it's like what Neo said. Plus, if we look at this situation, it means she did occasionally cut off her flesh to feed herself. She probably has tons more within her storage, inventory, or magical space whatsoever. I would say let us just eat while she isn't here. The last thing I want to do is to eat someone's flesh in front of them. Especially when she is going to eat the very same thing. I have never observed self-cannibalism and I do not intend to do that either." Jasai said while he also took one plate and went next to Neo. Damn it... I thought you would at least help in this situation as a former Earthling...

" So what do we do girls... do we dig in? Or we wait for her to wake up..." I asked the others, earning me both their stares and their confusion.

" I mean... we shouldn't waste food. But eating her flesh feels weird..." Christine said. You finally start to be reasonable! I thought you would say 'let's just eat!'

" I don't know... I still haven't caught up on what Bell said just now... about the torture stuff... I'm not sure if I am able to eat these..." Amy said. Understandable... Bell has been tortured by the humans for quite some time... and her limbs keep getting chopped off for the "enhanced" meat that the humans could eat to boost themselves. Thinking of it makes me not want to eat it even more...

" I feel the same with Amy... it feels wrong that we are eating a part of her..." May added.

Then suddenly, I heard a phone notification. Strange, none of us have a phone here... the ManaCom can't emit notification sounds at the moment too since there is no function for that yet... I am not sure why, but I feel that I should check my inventory...

There is a new item within there, it is some letters... one for us, one for Jasai and one for the humans? When did these get here... I took out the letters and on top of them are written: " Please give the other two to the respective people and let them read their's first, starting with the human. Please read it out loud and clear so that everyone on the yacht can hear it properly. Do not worry about waking up your little friend. Also, you better eat first, it will take a long time for Belgrynd to wake up."

" Where did you get that letter?" Petrasha asked, clearly curious about the letter I have on my hand, I was so busy reading that I didn't notice that it is your average white paper that is pretty cheap back on Earth. This clearly grabbed her attention as this kind of paper doesn't exist yet on Astrea.

" I don't know... it says give these two letters to Jasai and the humans and read it out loud... and told us to eat first as Bell will take a long time before waking up..." I said while feeling confused about what to do with this and the statement of Bell not waking up soon. 

" I don't know... sounds kinda sus," Jasai said and took his letter while still holding his plate of food. " This is for me huh, been a while since I saw the plain white paper, reminds me back when I have to work my arse off in assignments," Jasai said as he went back to where he was earlier.

" I guess we should just eat and worry later... put Bell's portion in your inventory first Lucy, we don't know how long is this "long time" could be hours," Christine said. Nevermind, your brain is still full of food, but I agree... I stored one portion of the steak away and took one of the remaining plates. The others also did the same.

We all took a bite at the steak...

" If this is that food anime where people's clothes burst when they ate good food... I feel like this would do the same too," Jasai said. Just how much anime did you watch? Though I don't think we all can say the same... we are also anime lovers too.

" I know that lass cooks good food, but damn, this thing, butter was it? Tastes exquisite! I never ate something this good in my whole life!" Flux added while Frux just silently nods while sneakily trying to take a portion of Flux's steak. 

" If it isn't because the source of the meat is too... abnormal, I would like to eat this weekly," Neo said while it seems like Christine agreed wholeheartedly... Oi, what's with the eating friends is a bad thing you said minutes earlier!

" The feeling of the meat when it directly melts within your mouth but still lets you chew on it a bit makes it super good!" Christine added while still eating. Eat or Talk, choose one, don't forget you are an idol damn it! You look more like an entertainer now!

After around 1 hour of tasting the exquisite meat that belongs to a friend... awkwardly, we went back to the letters.

" So I guess you two start with yours first since it is stated there you read your letters first..." I said and they both nodded. Surprisingly, they know how to read English, I guess they really are from Earth, even if thousands of years have passed. But isn't their paper a bit... short?

" So, it says this is a message from the God of Astrea...  [I do exist, it is just that you humans changed my teaching to suit yourself. Refer to the real Astrea belief within the other lands and compare it yourself. Repent your actions afterward. P.S. the god of Terra does not exist here so you all are believing a god that doesn't exist here.]" Flux read it out... damn, that hurts, not only denying their own god but even denying their entire religion. This is some critical damage here. I can see a hint of despair in Frux eyes, but Flux's reaction really shocked me the most.

" See, told you, that's why I said don't trust those Terra believers. They are spouting tons of nonsense." Flux said as he folds the paper back to how it was before and gave it to me... Did this guy just accept what normally should be devastating information? Shouldn't he be like, no this is not true! You are framing our god or yadi yadi yada.

" Anyway now it's my turn, hrmm, it says, this is also a relay for Astrea, [Hello boy, how are you doing, I am sorry you had to endure that in your previous life, I hope you enjoy yours now, I heard from my higher up that visited me that you met up with the people he reincarnated hence I told him to give this message to you. " Why are you asking us, we don't know how this god stuff works, anyway onto the last letter... who will read it?" I asked the others, then they all pointed at me... why??? Just because I am the one who had the letter doesn't mean I should be the one reading it! Damn you all.

" Your friend here is a victim of one of the reincarnation gods, he somehow messed up his job and forgot to reincarnate Beno, while he was escaping, he haphazardly reincarnated Beno despite his soul damage which caused him... or her now to reincarnate without the usual wish granting. It even caused her to have missing memories and even ended up having her body age younger than what she should originally be. However, I have been doing some patches for her. Sadly, her soul has become too unstable to fix, hence I had to use the fragments to create a new soul for her, hence she might lose some memories, and I highly doubt that she will have her old attitude back since most of them are already overridden with her encounter here. But I will try my best to fix her back, it might take days or even weeks to completely fix her soul. So make sure that she is safe somewhere. By the god who reincarnated most of you, except that elf girl there."

" So... Bell will be in a coma for god knows how long... pun intended since only god knows how long she will be out." Christine says, which then she starts to feel nervous when everyone stared at her "funny" pun. 

" Where do we even go, we have two humans here, and without Bell explaining stuff, I don't know who will trust them. Even at Argerios, it would be hard to get them in, as we have to pass the harbor towns. Unless those two are willing to act as prisoners of war and endure the harsh glances of everyone in the continent, I don't think it's possible to bring them in." Petrasha said while showing a frowned face. This is true... if it's only Belgrynd, it would be easy, but now we got two extra humans, it became pretty hard... 

" Would you two mind that for a while? Every other race hates humans that they are willing to kill them on sight. So unless we have a method to prove that you two won't be harming everyone, we can't even bring you to where we live, considering we have to take care of Belgrynd while she is unconscious. " I asked them. The two then start to think and discuss among themselves.

" I hate to break your bubble, but I just received information from the nearby naga outpost, they said that they had treated an unconscious catkin and now he finally woke up. I remember that I heard those two that the humans killed and toss a catkin into the sea around a year or two ago, do you think it's the same person?" Neo said. Hmmm, a catkin huh, I do remember that Belgrynd said she had a friend that got killed here, could it be the same guy?

Since he is another guy that Belgrynd trusts and isn't human," Frux said. That is true... with a non-human also vouching for them, it would work, but what if it doesn't...

" Whether it helps or not we will still be fetching him. I think Bell would be happy that one of her early friends within this world is still alive, especially when she saw him getting killed. At the very least it would make her feel less guilty. I know her for so long, that I know that if she knew this Kent guy died because of her, she would feel pretty guilty." I said, which Amy and Petrasha nodded.

" So, I guess we are going to fetch this Kent guy... somehow I have a bad feeling about him..." May said. Huh, what do you mean? You haven't even met him and you are having a bad feeling about him?

" Nah, it's not like he wants to date you or something. You two haven't even met!" Christine said while patting May's back. Somehow after Christine said that... I also have a bad feeling too... Christine is a pro at setting flags after all...
