Two destined brothers emerge from one egg.
In life though they split, their powers unknown,

Waits for the player to conquer the strife.
Forward and backward, the game to begin,
Shall end with the choice to rectify sin.

Legend says that long before the creation of our world, two brother gods kept the universe in perfect order and harmony. But one day the elder brother Leviathan, seeking the ultimate supremacy, disrupted the balance of power by subjugating the various celestial worlds under his tyrannical rule.

With a heart filled with love and compassion, the younger brother Phoenix pleaded with Leviathan to put an end to his scheme. Leviathan, moved by his brother’s tears, ran to Phoenix with one final hope that the warmth of his embrace would be enough to melt his frozen heart.

But Leviathan was too far gone—the thought of being admonished by his younger brother made his heart grow callous and cold. As Phoenix stretched out his arms to welcome his brother into his fiery embrace, Leviathan lashed out with all his ice-cold fury, and thus began the Great Destruction.

The gods were too evenly matched. The battle raged on for days and weeks, years and decades, centuries and millenia—but neither was able to gain the advantage. No one knows exactly how long the brother gods contended for victory, but by the aftermath one thing was certain: all the worlds in the universe had been annihilated in the wake of their destructive battle.

Filled with great remorse, Phoenix grasped Leviathan in his tight embrace and cried out, invoking the highest form of magic of which he could conceive. Gazing into his brother’s eyes with a love that was unaffected by an eon of violence, he burst into flames, self-immolating and incinerating all trace of the preceding carnage.

Miraculously, Phoenix was reborn from the ashes, and with his tears mixed into the ashes he formed our world of Renascentia. For almost a thousand years the land of Renascentia has enjoyed peace and prosperity under the wise rule of our God-King, Lord Phoenix.

There are rumors, however, that a strange magic is plaguing the mainland, leaving chaos and confusion for any soul that is unfortunate enough to make its acquaintance. Some say these are exaggerated reports based on nothing but over-imaginative fabrications. But others believe Leviathan has returned to take his revenge.
