In the heat of the moment, someone @ Gu Shishi again.
[Li Yiru: @233, how come you changed your alias again? Weren’t you 23333 just yesterday? Did you shrink just like Gu Wushuang’s diamond ring? LOL!]
[Li Yiru: Maybe that VVIP the other day was Big Brother Huo instead of Second Brother Huo?]
Li Yiru was now the dedicated number one person to antagonize Gu Wushuang.
Any chance that she has received, she would use it to rub it into Gu Wushuang’s face.
As such, her speculation was viewed by all as an attempt to put Gu Wushuang on the spot.
Gu Shishi, the later comer real daughter had walked all over Gu Wushuang’s pride.
That was what Gu Wushuang dreaded the most and what would bother her the most.
Nobody dared to continue down that path so they had no choice but to change the subject.
Most of them ruled out Huo Sishen as the VVIP. He had been laying low for so many years already; why would he become so ostentatious all of a sudden?
[233: It was all my grandmother’s fault. She kept fighting me over the alias… aye, nevermind about that. My grandmother said she wanted to go too but she probably won’t be able to make it. She’ll watch on livestream.]
[Ga Bengcui: Same here. Will watch on livestream.]
Lying on the couch, Gu Shishi flipped through the chat log casually and sighed to herself.
People were still worried to be associated with Huo Sishen.
There probably wouldn’t be a lot of guests at their wedding banquet.
But that was fine too. At least they get to save some money!
Anyone who was not attending, they could refund their ticket and their lodging!
The truth would reveal itself over time anyway.
Gu Shishi jotted down a list of individuals who said they would not be attending in the group.
Gu Shishi was happy after she calculated the approximate amount that they could save.
The round-trip tickets and lodging for the guests did not count toward income for her and she did not gain any health from it.
Might as well save them and gift to her later!
She pushed around the stack of invitation sitting on the end table casually and her mouth cracked open.
This set of invitation recharged some 1 million yuan for her.
It was said that the picture was designed by some famous artist and the calligraphy done by the boss himself. He was also the one who picked up the raw diamond.
She was not involved in its creation at all but every little detail was well taken care of and she needn’t lift a finger.
All she needed to do was to lay there like a salted fish and watch her health bar going up and up.

What a life. What a life.
By the time she recollected herself and was on her way to work, she received a message from Huo ChuChu.
Huo ChuChu was locked up.
Gu Shishi secretly took a picture of the invitation and sent it to her.
None of the other Huo’s had received an invitation as though the boss had forgotten about them selectively.
“Are you really going to escape on your mother’s birthday?”
Half way through listening, Gu Shishi’s eyes widened and she set over a voice message.
“Yeah, she’d for sure let me out on the day of the banquet. I’ve made up my mind. I shall run off immediately.
“Stay in a hotel temporarily and had to the island with you when the day comes,” came Huo ChuChu’s lowered voice quickly.
Gu Shishi was taken aback. “Your mother’s birthday banquet? Next Sunday?”
She didn’t receive an invitation; neither did the boss.
This family…
Okie doh.
It all made sense now why the boss didn’t send them an invitation. Good for him!
If his mother didn’t want to recognize him as her son; he didn’t need to recognize her as his mother either!
“Alright, then. You be careful though. I’ll let you brother know and have the chauffeur come and pick you up then. Make sure you stay somewhere he can find you.”
Gu Shishi added the last part out of concern.
She was dazed after she had hung up on the phone.
Seemed it was time for her to step in and intervene.
Did her mid-level skill allow her to stir up one’s emotions?
Middle of the night, did his mother not have even one shred of guilt and regret toward her older son?
Would she not think about how her child had been on his own all these years and feel even one bit of sadness and pain as a mother?
Not inviting her own son to her own birthday banquet.
Would she truly be happy under that circumstances?
Gu Shishi pursed her lips.
She would try out her new skill! She wanted to see if the Huo’s truly had hearts made of stones!
