Gu Shishi did not head into the studio and was home in the afternoon.
It was very simple. She was no longer needed at the art studio. Whenever Liu Li, the store managers saw her, she only wished she could put her up on a pedestal. That left Gu Shishi with nothing to do.
She had decided to just stay home until they found someone professional to take care of the management aspect of things.
It was time off for her that didn’t come by easily anyway.
When Mother Gu was texting her, she was happily applying her facemask in the middle of the day while rolling around on the sheep rug in the lounge while reading shoujo manga that she had just purchased online.
Whenever she got to the exciting parts, she would even slap her hand on the table a few times!
When she heard the chime from her phone, she finally moved around a little on top of the sheep rug and rolled over to the end table that was next to the man who was allegedly on a conference call before long.
He didn’t talk much. Most of the time he was just listening to his headphone.
Gu Shishi was still quite happy though, having someone there to keep her company when she slacked off at home.
She was not lonely and she had someone earning money for her.
That definitely made her happy.
She rolled over and reached over to her phone on the end table with her little arm. The fabric of her frilled top rose up some and half of her white waist was exposed.
The man who had been focused on his conference call saw that and his eyes dimmed a little.
He was distracted immediately.
He pulled her top back down and handed her her phone.
Just one glance and he could clearly see the message from WeChat.
He had a long face immediately.
“Eh? They are asking me to head home?”
Gu Shishi, too, saw the message when she had her phone in her hand.
“It isn’t like everyday that I have a day off.” She grumbled.
Huo Sishen stroked her on her head. “Then don’t go.”
He had no time for the Gu’s bullsh*t.
They would only contaminate his ears.
“Okay~~”
That was Gu Shishi’s thought as well.
She rolled to the other side decisively and handsomely tossed her cellphone to one side.
Truth be told, she was familial, but who it was mattered.

She for sure refused to be blindly familial.
Who would have thought that Mother Gu, who did not receive a response, called her directly on her phone!
Gu Shishi did not pick it up.
Half an hour later, Mother Gu, her eyes reddened from anxiously, was brought over to the Huo’s by Huo Wencheng.
“Shishi, you won’t even talk to Mom when I want to talk to you? Does that mean you are holding grudges and you hate and blame me? To the point that you don’t even want to talk to Mom anymore?”*
Her voice broke and tears were streaming down her cheeks.
The scene was certainly very touching.
That being said, Gu Shishi, still holding her shoujo manga in her hand, only felt very awkward.
Not even some pleasantries and cutting straight to the chase?
That disgusted her!
Who could get into the mood so quickly?
“No, that’s not true.”
She never even thought of them as her own parents, so why would she hate or blame them?”
Nope. Not even a little bit.
Gu Shishi blinked. She then turned and tried to gestured Boss Huo who was standing behind her.
Do not give them any wedding candies!
They were hella expensive!
Gu Shishi only wanted to end this drama as soon as possible. She was just getting to the good part of her manga.
The female lead was just tossed into the bathtub by the male lead… Oh, what excitement shall ensue?
She wanted so badly to take a peek at it.
Mother Gu, on the other hand, didn’t show any signs of wanting to leave. “Shishi, Mom had wronged you. Mom will apologize to you. I haven’t been paying you enough attention lately but both you and Wushuang are my kids.
“You are married now and will have your own children in the future. Then you will understand how tough is the situation that I am in.
“One can’t choose between the front and back of one’s hand. Mom loves you but I also can’t just ignore Wushuang.
“Can you really sit by and watch Wushuang die at such a young age? Shishi, Mom had wronged you but this has nothing to do with Wushuang. Why don’t you help her out just this one time?”
Nobody was paying her any attention but that did not stop Mother Gu from performing her one-woman show.
