What would she do if the surgery didn’t go well?
She would lose her only filial girl!
Even if she was to do her best to be nice to her real daughter, would Gu Shishi ever forgive her and be filial to her?
“Shi…”
She lifted up her tear-covered face and was shocked.
She felt as though she had been struck on her chest.
The way that Gu Shishi was looking at her, she might as well be looking at a complete stranger!
A rude stranger making an unreasonable request!
Mother Gu was completely disappointed.
Wushuang was all she had left!
Wushuang was the only child who would love her, would understand how nice she was, understand where she came from, and to take care of her when she grew old!
Gu Shishi, her real daughter, would never take care of her when she grew old. She would only be tossed into an old and decrepit nursing home all alone… this child hated her!
Mother Gu’s hands trembled and she gripped onto Huo Wencheng’s hands as though they were straws for a drowning person.
“Shishi, it’s okay if you don’t look at me as your mother.
“But I am begging you to save Wushuang! I can guarantee you half of the inheritance!”
Mother Gu repeated herself.
But her look and her mentality had changed completely.
Before this point, she was going to play the emotion card, thinking that she could have two daughters taking care of her. What she couldn’t get from one, she could get from the other.
But now, looking at the way that Gu Shishi was toward her, she now think of Wushuang as her only daughter.
She couldn’t let her only daughter die!
She couldn’t risk any possibility of the surgery failing!
For the sake of Wushuang’s safety, she was willing to pay any price!
Wushuang’s future was her future!
“I mean it! Or, any other conditions that you may have!”

Mother Gu emphasized.
Huo Wencheng frowned a little. He had no way of knowing the thoughts that had gone through Mother Gu’s mind but, after listening to what she was saying, couldn’t say that he agreed with her approach.
Huo Sishen looked even more sarcastic than he was earlier. He was going to have Siyi throw them out again but stop himself for once.
He looked at his little delicate wife who was sitting next to him tenderly, obviously waiting to see there was anything else that she wanted to say.
He would never had done something like that before now.
Huo Wencheng had been focusing on the two of them and he, too, was surprised when he saw that.
Nevertheless, when he looked up and saw the red lips and white teeth on Gu Shishi along with her bright face, he felt a mixed of emotions.
He had looked down on this girl back then. She had a strong sense of country on her. It wasn’t so much that he looked down on a common person, but that her vanity was seeping out of her. Her intention of wanting to get into prestigious family was only too obvious and repulsive.
He was very displeased by her obvious efforts to get close to him.
Who would have thought that her temperament would have changed so drastically in just a short six months?
She was poised, not afraid to speak her mind, and her logic was sound. Even when she was playing on her cellphone, her confidence was radiating from her, making her hard to be glossed over.
She didn’t just listen to her elders blindly nor was her clouded by the materialistic good placed in front of her.
She had obviously changed a lot from before!
Had she not gotten engaged and married so soon, she would most likely be well sought after by all the rich boys.
She was pretty; she had inherited Mother Gu’s delicateness.
She was healthy; that part was already better than the fragile Wushuang. She was also more poise in her temperament. She possessed the quality to be the head female of a prominent family.
She made a very good candidate as a wife and a mother for a prominent family!
Huo Wencheng frowned.
Was she the product of his cold and impersonable brother?
It sure sounded like it from what she had said earlier.
He had wined her, dined her and handheld her?
Looking at his expressionless Big Brother, Huo Wencheng sank into a deep thought.
