“I heard that Huo Wencheng beat up your new mom.
“Then you were pushed onto the ground by your new little ma?”
Gu Shishi turned and looked around.
She pulled out a bag of dried orange peels and dates then ran over, bare feet, to the end table and poured herself a glass of lemon water.
Once she had her beverage and snacks ready, she sat back down with her legs crossed.
“Was that really what happened?”
Coming from the other end was suffocating silence.
After a long while, Gu Wushuang’s tense and seemingly through gritted teeth voice resumed.
“What little ma new mom? Brother Cheng did not push her. She was being disrespectful to Mommy first. I went to smooth things out and she pushed me down on the ground!
“Sister Shishi, I would never call that woman Mommy!”
So she looked down on that female secretary?
Gu Shishi’s eyes lit up.
Roar. The real melon!
“Ut huh, ut huh. But you are after the Gu’s family fortune, right? So now Madam Gu had been replaced by the homewrecker, right?
“You are going to have to change the way you refer to her. She’s senior to you now.”
“… …”
Luckily Gu Wushuang had a heart surgery and was mostly cured by now. She just might not make it right now otherwise.
“Sister Shishi, I wanted to get together with you to say that we are on the side. Regardless of what kind of misunderstandings that we had in the past, it’s now time for us to band together against outside forces.
“We need to fight for what’s our first and then we can take our time to resolve our differences.
“It isn’t that Daddy doesn’t like you, Sister Shishi. He is blinded by his new son right now. Does that not bother you?”
As a woman who had succeeded in her Double-11 promotion, why the heck would Gu Shishi care about the Gu’s family fortune?
Nope! She so didn’t care!
As a woman who had scored the amazing boss, why would she care about whether Gu Jiangxin dote on her or not?
Not the least bit!
“Nah.”
Gu Wushuang only wanted to get her to fight with the secretary so she could just sit around and reap the benefits.
Have her go do all the dirty work. Not a bad plan on her part!

“I don’t have time.”
Gu Shishi declined her suggestion flat out.
“There’s no need for us to meet for lunch either. You can just send me red pockets to show me your sincerity.”
“Sister Shishi!”
All of her blood that Gu Wushuang had been trying to keep in check was now roiling.
All of a sudden, her breathing fastened.
“Big Brother Huo may have given you a big wedding and that it was high up there in terms of luxuriousness.
“But, Sister Shishi, are you really aware of Big Brother Huo’s situation? He had been kicked out by his family over 10 years ago. Do you know how much assets he had taken with him and how much he spent this time?”
Gu Wushuang voice was filled with temptation.
“That just meant to say that he had overdrawn on his future assets.
“No matter how deep one’s pocket is, it won’t last very long if one just splurge.
“But what if you and I are to fight for a portion of the Gu’s fortune? We will be able to grow money with money. We can ask for 70% of the Gu’s Corporation and split it 50/50 between us. Daddy will still have 30% left for his son. That sounds fair, right?”
That sounded oh-so convincing even.
Even Gu Shishi had to admire Gu Wushuang for that.
Had it been original owner, she just might go and fight for that 35% like a fool.
She would then, more likely than not, been booted out by Gu Jiangxin!
He was still alive!
Give 70% to his two daughters?
Leaving just 30% for him and his son?
What a crazy thought!
Gu Shishi went silent.
Gu Wushuang mistook that as her starting to be convinced.
She laid it on even harder.
“The Gu’s family assets can be divided into three different categories – real estate, skincare products, and finally, gaming-related industry.
“They are not all equally good either. Real estate is good at maintaining values and there are always room to grow. The area of gaming is definitely fast growing in recent years.
“As for skincare, the Gu family might be among the top 3 domestically but, comparing to international brands, they aren’t doing all that well. In fact, they have not been doing too well and have not had solid new products in the last several years.”
Gu Wushuang went on with her analysis.
There were a lot of subtexts hidden in her words.
Gu Shishi really didn’t care to keep on listening to her anymore.
