Chapter 490 – Huo Wencheng didn’t understand the meaning behind all those in the past. He does now. (3)
Huo ChuChu quickly pulled her head back.
Gu Shishi, too, sat down properly on the chair and peeked through the cracks on the screen.

The door opened up.
Gu Wushuang walked inside in a way that she deemed very elegant.
Nevertheless, in just one second, when she lifted her chin and looked over at the desk in the room with her beautifully confident eyes, she was stunned!
The CEO sitting behind the desk was cold, handsome, manly, and exuding a domineering aura.
He was all too shockingly, fear-inducingly, and suffocatingly … familiar!
The smile on Gu Wushuang froze instantly.
And Huo Wencheng, who also wanted to take this opportunity to pay a visit to the secretive CEO of HF, walked in behind Gu Wushuang. He was shocked, stunned, and even panicked!
Their footsteps stopped abruptly and their throat, as though having something lodged inside, could not make out a word!
Only Ma Hing, the clueless manager of Sales, thought it was his time to shine.
He walked up with a smile.
“Hi, we are here today to discuss matters of a long-term cooperation…”
As it turned out, the man with black hair only merely lifted his eyes and then, with both hands resting on top of the table, nodded calmly and impatiently.
“I refuse.”
All three of them froze on the spot and felt chills down their spines.
“Brother Huo…”
After being dazed for a little while, Gu Wushuang moved her lips with difficulty.
The grand wedding that she had been envious of this entire time, the collecting of all the diamond rings in town, the buying out of all high-end custom-made wedding gowns… as it turned out, the person in question was none other than Gu Shishi, the one whom she had wanted to stomp on like an ant!
She would not even dream of something so ridiculous even in her craziest dreams!

Her eyelashes fluttered. She seemed to be recalling the scenes of how she had cried in front of Father and Mother Gu and even went as far as subtly or not-so-subtly prompted Huo Wencheng to push along the marriage between Gu Shishi and Huo Sishen!
She even went over to Huo Sishen’s mansion the day after Gu Shishi had moved in just to tease and make fun of her!
And, now, reality had royally faceslapped her!
She had pushed Gu Shishi over to a more outstanding and richer man – – the boss of HF, the one that all prominent families in City Shun wanted to work with!
“Big Brother…”
Huo Wencheng, too, stumbled a step backward.
HF, in the last few years, had been growing like wild fire. Nevertheless, after they had entered into the domestic market, very few people knew anything about this secretive boss behind the company even within their circle. Not his look, not his personality.
In fact, even having their headquarter set up in City Shun, HF had refused repeatedly to work with the Huo family, who was at the top of their circle, despite them having extended their invitations multiple times…
Huo Wencheng had always felt that that was odd.
The Huo family had to bid on projects just like any other companies. There had been no special treatments for the Huo family.
Huo Wencheng had always been baffled by that.
But now he got it!
The entire office in elegant and cold black and white colors. The dark wood floor was the only thing that gave it a hint of warmth while making the atmosphere seem more severe at the same time.
At this very moment, Huo Wencheng felt that he was facing an enormous and unsurmountable mountain.
Standing on the ground, he could do nothing more than looking up at the cold, steep peaks that had extended all the way into the clouds. Compared to him, he was nothing but a small, weak, and immature toddler who had just learned to walk.
He stumbled backward a step.
How did this happen?
He had looked into this in the past. The boss of this overseas company should have been a foreigner who had massive capital.
His Big Brother, on the other hand, was one who had split from the family ages ago and had lost all support from his family since he was of age and had never returned since.
He had always had tutors only for his education and never went to school.
He went from the best of the best among wealthy young men, then plummeted to dust overnight. And was so depressed that he wouldn’t even leave the house. Year after year went by and he everybody had forgotten about him bit by bit until he faded out of the focus in their circle.
Even when Huo Wencheng tried as hard as he could, it was difficult to recall details from back then.
But now… the truth was staring right at him!
