Within the cabin Ryker released a long breath, his hair settling back to his shoulders. He could feel his spirit welling up, filled with a new feeling that hadn't been there before. He knew without much thought that he had succeeded.

'It would be too embarrassing if three-year-old me could do something I couldn't,' Ryker chuckled to himself.

Ryker sat cross-legged and entered a state of meditation. He turned his senses into his body, his vision being grasped by an all new world.

Every Mythical Master had their own Spirit World. Any Spirit Beast or Mysterious Treasure that was contracted would be able to enter and exit this world freely. However, the caveat was that a Mythical Master must have enough Spirit Energy to complete the action.

Once a Spirit Beast is tethered to a Mythical Master, they become reliant on this Master. Their existence in the outside world must be sustained by Spirit Energy or else they were default back to the dormant state and enter their Master's Spirit World.

Ryker never sent the small mirror into his own Spirit World both so that he could train his control and his stamina. Plus, the small mirror was such a weak Contract that it didn't take much out of him. This Three Headed Serpent Phoenix, though, was different.

With just a rough estimate, Ryker felt it took about ten times the Spirit Energy to manifest the Infant Three Headed Serpent Phoenix. As it grew in strength, the demand would only grow. But, with Ryker's Spirit Energy reserves, he felt that it hardly made a difference. The talent that he had worked so hard to preserve didn't come without its benefits.

Seeing the Spirit Beast in its full glory for the first time, Ryker's blood couldn't help but rush. It was a truly gorgeous creature.

The three serpentine heads connected to a body with four limbs. Pearly white scales that had a certain milky, creaminess to them ran down their long necks and strong limbs. On their back, a pair of equally white wings lay folded, each individual feather textured beautifully as though the work of a master artisan.

The limbs of the Three Headed Serpent Phoenix ended in powerful claws that could crush stones. Delicate feathers came out from their elbows and the crown of their heads, the latter pattern hiding immature horns that grew from their skulls. A long, scaled tail grew from their back, accented by yet another crown of feathers that waved about.

Even as they slept, they exuded a powerful momentum with their every breath. Their heartbeat synced with Ryker's own, making him feel as though a raging drum was thumping within his very soul.

'An Infant Twin… No, Three Headed Serpent Phoenix is actually so powerful…'

Ryker could feel that if he started to cultivate his Spirit Energy now, his speed would be incomparable to before. Though still partially slowed by the small mirror, it still felt like chains that had bound him for his whole life were finally gone.

'But, I have never heard of a Serpent Phoenix having white scales and feathers. I've also never heard of one having three heads either. This mutation… Did father know?'

The Two Headed Serpent Phoenix was a Variant Beast.

Spirit Beasts were split by their many affinities for ten total—fire, water, earth, wind, lightning, light, dark, combat, spirit and mystery. Mystery encompassed Mystery Treasures like Ryker's small mirror.

A Variant, however, came in two potential types. This would either be a beast that had two or more combined affinities, or a mutation which could be of an existing affinity or of a rare affinity almost never seen.

The reason the Two Headed Serpent Phoenix was a Variant Beast was because each one of its head was known for specializing in its own affinity. Usually, this would be earth and fire, with some instances of wind and fire. There were also instances of Two Headed Serpent Phoenixes copulating outside of their race to produce offspring with affinities unique from their gene pool.

In addition to this, with their powerful bodies and claws, Serpent Phoenixes were natural combat affinity Spirit Beasts as well.

The question, then, was obvious. If there were three heads now, what affinities did it have?

Ryker didn't need to do guess work. As his contracted Spirit Beast, he could understand its immediate abilities with a thought. This was a difficult ability to learn for new Mythical Masters, but Ryker had been at this for too long already. Teasing apart the potential of his small mirror and planning out a path for it was far more difficult than simply reading the set path of an already talented beast.

'Earth… Fire… Wind…'

Ryker picked out the affinities for each one of the heads. The left head was fire, the right was wind, leaving the middle with earth. He hadn't expected that rather than the mutation coming from outside the Serpent Phoenix race, it seemed that it likely came from within. All signs pointed toward this Three Headed Serpent Phoenix being one of exceptionally pure blood.

'Good. This is good. They're too young to use their affinities now, but at this rate, it should only take about a month for them to enter the 1st Enlightenment Realm. Once that happens, we can start training in earnest.'

Ryker forced himself to calm down. He had already waited 18 years, now that he had reached this point, he had to have patience.

The contracting of a Spirit Beast was just the beginning. Every Spirit Beast had a set progression to follow, he couldn't skip steps. He had almost begun dreaming of 9th Enlightenment Stage attacks that could be executed with earth, fire and wind affinities. He was getting ahead of himself, such rushing would only lead to him harming his Spirit Beast.

The emotions of a Mythical Master could be felt by their contracted creature. If the little one felt that he was rushing, it too would begin to rush, trying to skip steps to please him. Ryker couldn't allow this.

'By tomorrow, these emotions will have died down and I'll be back to my usual apathetic self. Then, I'll be able to think more clearly. For now… Let's see how quickly I can enter the 3rd Enlightenment Stage.'

Ryker had no intention of contracting another Spirit Beast anytime soon. He wouldn't settle for any creature below the 8th Circle in talent unless it was rare and unique. But, that didn't mean he would allow his cultivation to stagnate.

He had spent 18 years at the 1st Enlightenment Stage. It was about time he bloomed.
