Chapter 233: Strange Bullet [Part 2]

Cillin avoided the punch coming straight for his face, crouched, turned his foot inwards and threw an inward punch with his left hand.

Cillin’s punches were also practical, but he had speed over his opponent. It didn’t tax Cillin too much to deal with the punches that rained down on him like a downpour, and he actually managed to counterattack several times against the enemy. Puno didn’t feel well after eating several punches from Cillin, but he didn’t stop or slow just because he took a punch either. It was as if he couldn’t feel pain.

Cillin himself had noticed the abnormality because every punch he threw was capable of breaking the bones in the latter’s body or ears. However, the bones that should’ve been broken only let out a crack, and that was all. It was almost as if they weren’t broken in the first place and thus didn’t affect Puno’s movements.

Was it super recovery? Absolutely not! This was different from Ghost Butterfly Fourteen’s short term recovery, so his attacks should’ve broken Puno’s bones. On the other hand, his bones didn’t break completely even though it was fractured, just like two halves of a broken stick put together at its broken ends. The cracks were there, it just didn’t look broken.

However, just because Puno’s bones didn’t appear to be broken didn’t mean that he was completely unaffected by it. In fact Cillin was sure that his attacks were effective, because the muscle activity at the fractured part of the bones were 0.001 second slower than an unharmed area.

Puno was holding on simply because his constitution was special. Once this battle was over, he would have to undergo treatment for his bones all the same.

Using the 0.001 second delay in Puno’s movements to his own advantage, Cillin threw a few more punches at Puno.

Bie Yao grinned when he saw this. He immediately threw a lightning fast kick into Bel’s stomach.

The undercover bodyguards hesitated for a moment when they saw their prince holding his stomach and rolling on the ground, but they ultimately decided not to reveal themselves. They were all professionals, and they all noticed that the kick was meant to disable Bel and keep him from fighting temporarily. It wasn’t threatening to his life. But if they were to reveal themselves, Bel was likely to order them to fight against the students of AF1 and AF2. After considering what Tousen had told them earlier, they ultimately decided against taking action. King Blazing Eagle only ordered them to protect Bel’s life, so as long as it wasn’t life threatening the king didn’t mind letting Bel suffer a little.

After kicking Bel in the stomach, Bie Yao went over to Puno to help him. If Puno couldn’t keep up with Cillin in terms of speed, then he would make up for that shortcoming. Puno had strength, and Bie Yao had speed. Both of them had good coordination with each other too. There was no doubt that their cooperation had put a lot of pressure on Cillin.

Bie Yao specifically targeted the opening in Cillin’s movements to disrupt him while the latter was fighting against Puno.

It was said that two fists are weaker to four hands*, but strangely enough Bie Yao and Puno still couldn’t hurt Cillin, even though the number of times he counterattacked Puno had decreased after Bie Yao’s participation.

*it means that whoever has the numbers advantage has the upper hand

The longer they fought, the more alarmed Bie Yao and Puno became. A moment ago, they thought that Cillin’s speed was just a bit faster than normal. But as Bie Yao moved faster and faster in attempt to overwhelm Cillin, the latter increased his speed as well as if he was complying with his opponent’s wish. The overlapping punches and kick and the night’s natural color caused their movements to grow blurrier and more difficult to catch over time. In the end, only the sounds of exchanging blows and walls being punched through could be heard from the fight.

Bang!

Cillin took advantage of a Bie Yao’s slip of attention and kick him straight into a wall around them. The wall behind Bie Yao shattered, but lucky for him he managed to grab onto a corner of the shattered wall and pull himself back to the ground, rolling a couple of times on the floor. While Bie Yao was rubbing his stomach, he turned around and saw Bel sitting on the floor and grinning at him. His eyes seemed to say: see, your judgment has arrived!

The corner of Bie Yao’s eyes twitched as he turned to look at the top of the skyscraper. He didn’t ask Inov or Zanny to help him because that one hit made him realize that Cillin was faster than any of them. It was likely that Inov and Zanny would turn out like him even if they were to join the battle. That was why he looked at Goryeo standing on top of the skyscraper.

Without any lamplight to illuminate the surroundings, the building was completely dark.

At the rooftop of the skyscraper, Requiem looked at the defeated Bie Yao and said, “You definitely can act now.”

Goryeo smiled slightly and took out a box.

The box contained some parts and oddly shaped bullets.

Goryeo combined the parts together and assembled a gun in very short time. The gun looked extremely strange. Looking at the parts, the gun fired physical bullets, but what separated it from other guns was that it had an unusually short barrel; so short that it actually looked a little deformed.

Goryeo chose a single bullet from the box. The bullet had a few holes and some strange swirling patterns around it. The bullet was actually visible from the gun barrel after it was loaded into the gun.

Goryeo put on his glasses after he was done preparing the gun. Through his glasses, he could see what was happening below him, find his target, take in the data displayed on his eyes and calculate the trajectory in his head.

He pulled the trigger.

The gunshot made very little noise.

Cillin noticed that he was about to be shot at the second the gun was aimed at him. That was why he used Puno’s punch to push himself away swiftly from where he was.

Pa!

The bullet brushed past Cillin’s shoulder and entered the crystal-like floor. A crack that looked like a spider’s web instantly appeared on the ground.

Puno didn’t act restrained just because someone was shooting at their general direction. On the contrary, he attacked fiercer almost as if he planned to take down Cillin even at the cost of his life.

Puno only knew Goryeo too well, and he trusted in Goryeo’s ability too. Goryeo wouldn’t hurt him; Goryeo never hits an ally with his shot. The first shot was just a test to check out Cillin’s reaction. There was still a second and third shot. Every shot was different, and every successive shot was only harder to dodge. What Puno needed to do right now was to disrupt Cillin’s movements and his judgment as much as possible. He absolutely couldn’t let him to threaten his shooter.

Goryeo’s first shot was aimed at Cillin’s right shoulder, but Cillin managed to dodge out of the way. When the bullet brushed past the fabric around his right shoulder, he could actually feel it rushing through the air in high speed and burning his skin.

For some reason, the air cut through by the bullet felt like it was on fire. There was a burn mark on Cillin’s shoulder, but the wound was in a curved shape instead of a straight line. In fact, it was an irregular curve.

Cillin had noticed that something was odd since earlier. Thanks to his acute hearing and precise calculation abilities and judgment, Cillin realized that the bullet wasn’t flying in a straight line. However, the bullet hadn’t travelled in a conventional arc. Its unique shape had its trajectory to change in mid flight. This also meant that the bullet’s trajectory changed constantly for every second it was still flying in midair.

Logically speaking, it was incredibly difficult to shoot accurately with such an ever changing trajectory. But for some people, this weapon was one hell of a murder tool.

Anyone with the experience and skill would be able to make the most accurate dodge in time. However, the victim wouldn’t be able to predict where the bullet would land and dodge out of the way if the bullet was constantly jumping like this.

Of course, the shooter themselves must be a person of extraordinary calculation abilities to dare use a bullet like this. This person must be able to factor the environmental conditions, distance to target, air pressure, air temperature, changes to air current and so on and calculate the trajectory of the bullet. In the eyes of a shooter like this, their target was simply moving within a web of calculated trajectories. When they timing was right, they would open fire and hit their target.

Therefore, Cillin was facing a man of extraordinary calculation abilities just like he was.

While dealing with Puno’s attacks, Cillin split his attention to the man on the rooftop.

When a chill ran through his body, Cillin knew that the second shot was coming!

As compared to the first shot, the second bullet was faster and moved in a trajectory that was obviously different and more complex than before.

Pa!

The bullet passed through the gap between Cillin’s fingers and hit the floor. Had Cillin continued to form a fist just now, his entire hand would probably be crippled just like that. But Cillin had opened his palm just in time to let the bullet fly past his left middle finger and ring finger.
