Chapter 11: You Mean This Thing?

“Slay the dragons?” Confused, Lu Chen pointed at the young dragon in the bottle. “You mean this thing?”

It wasn’t that he was arrogant. Even though the animal in the glass bottle appeared to be magical and solemn, it was too small. It was like when one was confronted by a young Tibetan Mastiff—no one would be afraid of it. Lu Chen felt that he could just kill the dragon by stepping on it.

While Schneider and Lutecia were lost for words, Chu Zihang was just as puzzled as Lu Chen.

“You can’t judge a dragon’s strength by its size. Although this dragon is young, it’ll be able to destroy an entire village after it awakens. Furthermore, it’s hard to find a young dragon like this, which is why it’s precious.” Schneider covered the bottle with the cloth again. Due to Lu Chen’s interruption, he almost forgot what he needed to say.

“You might feel doubtful about the power within you. I can tell you straight away that all of us contain some dragon blood. In a way, dragons are our ancestors, whereas we’re mixed raced humans.” He then pointed at the covered glass bottle. “You’ll learn more about the history of mixed race humans when you attend classes in the future, so I won’t delve into that now. I’m sure that you two are resolute people, so you won’t change your mind even after you find out the truth about the college. I’ll now talk about what you’ll have to do after you enter college.”

Lu Chen and Chu Zihang were all ears.

Lutecia was stunned because this was the shortest guidance for the new students she had ever seen. Well, I haven’t seen new students receiving guidance before this…

However, she recalled that when she first joined the college, her mentor, Manstein, talked incessantly for more than one hour on all the history and stuff before the guidance ended. As a daughter from a noble family, she had already learned all of these before, but she still patiently listened to her mentor’s teaching.

On the other hand, her two juniors, who were previously separated from the world where mixed race creatures existed, received such a short introduction and yet had no doubts at all, which was why she found them strange.

“I’m sure you had seen that your student cards showed that both of you have Grade A blood lineage. However, that’s just an estimate. We’ll get a more accurate assessment after you go through a physical check and 3E test. After that, your grade will either go up or down.” As Schneider spoke, he sized up both Chu Zihang and Lu Chen.

“The 3E test?” Both Lu Chen and Chu Zihang were puzzled.

“I can’t tell you what the 3E test is about, but you don’t have to worry because it’s a very simple test with no chance of you failing. As long as you have dragon blood, you’ll get an accurate result.”

Schneider’s words didn’t set Lu Chen’s mind at ease, especially when he mentioned ‘dragon blood’. All of them in the train were mixed race humans, but Lu Chen was not.

At that instant, he finally understood why the mission to join Cassell College was moderately difficult, because it was impossible to pass the test using brute force. They only accepted humans with dragon blood, not Mystic Warriors.

“If I’m not mistaken, I’ll be your mentor from now on, so I hope that you’ll achieve good results. After you reach college, you should rest to offset your jet lag so that you’ll perform better during the test.” After Scheneider finished speaking, he started coughing. He hadn’t spoken so much in one go for a long time.

Lu Chen felt his heart growing heavy because he wasn’t a mixed race human.

“You’re Lutecia, right?” Schneider gazed at the standing girl.

“Yes, sir.” Lutecia straightened up.

“You did a great job this time. Bring them to get changed into our uniforms now.” Schneider spoke in a lethargic manner. He sized Lu Chen up again and found his outfit genuinely odd.

“Yes.”

More than ten minutes later, Lutecia widened her eyes in surprise after Lu Chen and Chu Zihang stepped out of the fitting room.

A person’s outfit had a huge impact on their appearance. This was especially true for Lu Chen.

He was clad in a white shirt and a dark green suit jacket with silver threads. On top of that, he was wearing a red tie, and a half-dead World Tree was embroidered on the pocket of the jacket. Although the college’s tailor had never gotten Lu Chen’s measurements, he managed to make a fitting outfit for him.

After getting changed, Lu Chen transformed from a country bumpkin into a handsome and noble young man. Moreover, he gave off a military vibe, which made him look masculine.

“Thanks… Zihang.” Lu Chen expressed his gratitude. He had wanted to call him ‘Mr. Chu’, but he reckoned that it might be overly polite.

It didn’t have to take them such a long time to get changed. The reason they stayed in the fitting room for more than ten minutes was that Lu Chen didn’t know how to put on these complicated clothes. With Chu Zihang’s help, he was able to step out of the fitting room in a dapper state.

“You’re welcome, Chen.” Chu Zihang nodded slightly.

Lutecia was still amazed by their handsomeness when she heard that, so she gazed at them with a doubt and took a look at her wristwatch. Then, she thought, Did they cross the boundary of friendship and enter a new world after seeing each other naked?

Certainly, Lu Chen and Chu Zihang wouldn’t know what was on her mind. Not long after they took a seat, the train reached the destination.

After all of them shuffled out of the train, they bid Schneider farewell, upon which Lutecia brought her juniors to the hostel.

“Chen, you should have received an email from Norma by now. Take a look at your phone,” Lutecia said.

Chu Zihang had reported that his room number was 302 Area 1, so it was apparent that he had seen the email.

Lu Chen wasn’t aware of it because he wasn’t familiar with using emails.

“I’ll do it for you.” Lutecia took his phone and tapped on the email. Seeing the room number, she put on a smile. “Well, destiny has tied you two together. Not only did you come to the college on the same day, but you’d also live near each other. Your room number is 303 Area 1. I’ll just bring you two there, then.”

Lu Chen took a look at Chu Zihang in surprise as he didn’t expect that they would be neighbors. It seemed that they would have many chances to meet up in the future.

In fact, he was fond of this young man. Even though Chu Zihang appeared to be dispassionate, he was a helpful man. When he saw that Lu Chen couldn’t put on his clothes properly, he took the initiative to help him.
