Chapter 41: Sayuri’s cup size~

"Hello, mom?"

"Yuu? Where are you, Yuu? Your dad only said you would be staying at a friend's house and told me not to call you. What is happening? Where are you?"

As Yuuta left his room to have a talk with his mother, whom he hadn't called since this news erupted, he was barraged with a whole ton of queries.

Mirai's voice was filled with concern for her son as she poured down all the things which were troubling her since the time she heard about the news.

She received calls from various people who she was acquainted with. She didn't run away from those people and defended her beloved son confidently.

After all, for her, it was the family who mattered the most.

Yuuta couldn't help but smile thinly as someone worrying about him made Yuuta feel strange, but it wasn't an unpleasant sensation at all. Instead, he liked such a feeling.

Of course, he wouldn't let his mother get more troubled than she already was, as he responded in a calm tone.

"Mom, are you tense because of the article?"

"What? Of course, not. Do hell with what the media is saying or what others think. What I am worried about is you, my baby. Tell me, are you really fine, Yuu?"

Yuuta never imagined that her response would come so non-hesitantly and that her words would contain such warmth. He was moved beyond words.

Looking down on the floor, Yuuta wasn't able to suppress his smile as he replied not so long after.

"Thanks, mom, and don't worry, I am completely fine."

"Why are you thanking, stupid? We are family after all. Anyway, you called for something urgent, if not then come back. I want to see you, real bad."

Yuuta remembered why he called his mother in the first place as he asked her before she could have sent someone to drive him home back.

"Uh, yeah. Can you ask Sayuri to call me, or maybe you can give her your own phone?"

The other side went blank for a while, as Mirai had suddenly received a great shock. 

"You are engaged to Sayu-chan, and you still don't have her number!!"

Yuuta parted the phone from his ear as his overreacting mom doesn't know restraints whenever she shouts.

"Relax, mom. Sayuri got her contact number recently; that's why I haven't saved it yet."

It seemed Mirai realized that she indeed overreacted, so with a cough, she excused herself.

**STEP**STEP** 

Yuuta heard the quick steps of his mom, who, despite being in her thirties, ran inside the house like a teenager. 

**CLICK** 

It seemed Mira was entering Akane's room without even knocking, which resulted...

"Kyah! Okaa-san, I am changing!"

"Ara~Ara~ Sorry for intrudin-Oh, my~ Are these already D?"

"Iyah! O-Oka-sa...do-don't grope th-Kyaah!"

Yuuta felt like he shouldn't hear such a thing happening on the other side, but it was already too late for him to cut the call, so he listened to the banter between the two ladies until the end.

After ten minutes of playing around, it seemed Akane finally got alone with the phone as she spoke in a hoarse tone.

"Yu-Yuuta-kun? You needed me for something?"

Her voice was ragged, seemingly tired after getting out of the clutches of her dear Okaa-san. Yuuta was somewhat amused to hear the serious Akane's voice in such a troubled manner.

Nevertheless, he spoke his intention straight out.

"Are you free today? We are hanging out at Chihiro's. If you want, then ask Robert. He will take you here."

Akane didn't speak for a while before suddenly she came up with a response.

"Well, I don't have anything to do, so sure. I will be there."

Yuuta hummed in response and was about to disconnect the call, thinking that the conversation had ended, when suddenly Akane's voice came from the other side.

"Yuuta-kun."

Her voice, unlike before, wasn't hurried nor unsettled. In fact, this kind of tone was the first time Yuuta heard from her, which naturally made his brows raise.

"Hmm?"

"You...are you fine?"

Yuuta knew Akane was asking about the news article, but it didn't make him any less surprised as subconsciously, he asked with a bit of astonishment.

"It's strange for you to care about me."

"Forget I ever asked."

**Tu*Tu*Tu** 

Yuuta looked at the screen, which was displaying an ordinary painting as a background, signifying that the call had been disconnected.

Since he never intended to receive sympathy from her or anyone in the first place, he didn't feel bothered by her reaction and turned to walk back into the living room.

"Ah, Yuuta-kun. Were you talking with someone?"

Suddenly Chihiro appeared around the stairs, where Yuuta came to call home.

She had lots of cushions in her hands which she must be taking for the group whose gossiping noises were reaching up to them.

Yuuta looked at the amount and extended his hand to take some of the load for himself, which Chihiro handed without hesitation, like she wanted him to take the initiative.

"I invited Sayuri on Shio's request. Is that fine with you?"

Yuuta intentionally put some suggestive words to let Chihiro know how Shio's sudden interest in Akane was rising.

"Well, the more, the merrier, isn't it Yuuta-kun? Come on, let's go.'

It was evident from her eyes, which never matched Yuuta, that she was fabricating her words. And the way she started moving anxiously made it clear how unsettled she was.

"You know, I didn't mean it like that."

If Yuuta didn't have the conversation last night with Chihiro, then he might not have pried in their relationship like he was right now.

But now, he considers Chihiro as his friend, and to see his friend cry would be the last thing he would want.

But little did he think that Chihiro's response would be so unexpectedly startling.

"People change, Yuu. If Shio can take the liberty to change his preference, then so do I. So don't worry needlessly and enjoy the moment we are in."
