Chapter 799: Butchery

Immense virtues and power of faith! After harvesting them, he would be able to step into the realm of the Third Pangu Heaven, form his Minor Pangu Sacred Body, and have a meteoric rise! Ji Tao shivered with excitement. He suddenly felt King Zhang Qiu’s death was incredibly wonderful. ‘He should be dead a few years earlier,’ he thought. In fact, not only King Zhang Qiu, he felt even King Bai Shan should be dead now. When he, Ji Tao, had the overall strength equivalent to that of a Primordial expert, he would inherit King Bai Shan’s title, then claim the throne of the Human Emperor. ‘This was a life worth living.’

The bone talisman in his hand emitted a faint light. He lifted it up, getting ready to throw it out. Meticulously crafted by High Oracles, this talisman had an amazing ability to freeze both space and time. With such a power, he could destroy all the Doomsday Thunders within a quarter of an hour, then perform some miracles in front of the billions of people, and eventually absorb the power of faith they offered.

By then, the Heavenly Dao should have sensed that he had saved billions of people from impending death. He would be blessed with virtues, which was more than enough to lift his cultivation level up into the realm of the Third Pangu Heaven, and perhaps he would be even given an eon of lifespan. It was said that for his credit of slaying the Sovereign of Myriad Immortal Alliance, the Heavenly Dao had blessed Ji Ao an enormous amount of virtues as well as an eon of lifespan. ‘Since he could have that, why couldn’t I?’

Amid his own laughter, Ji Tao threw out the talisman. A deep, ancient, distant chant came ringing out of it, accompanied by numerous beams of light, which wrapped the entire planet in a flash. All of a sudden, the thousands of Doomsday Thunders piercing through the air toward their targets froze in midair.

At the moment Ji Tao struck, Wu Qi, hiding under a feather, jumped into action too.

He bit the tip of his tongue, spat a mouthful of blood essence, and produced the Natural Phenomena Medallion. A great plume of smoke and fog immediately swept across this part of space. The visions of mountains and rivers, the sun and moon and stars, raging flame and wile wind, rainstorm and thunderstorm, all kinds of natural phenomena emerged one after another. The medallion had conjured a small virtual world here, which had enveloped the planet, Ji Tao, and all the immortals and buddhas present.

Then Dark Yin Celestial Tower flew whistling out. A great sheet of starlight poured down like a waterfall, and soon the countless stars in the small world the medallion had conjured began to flicker. Wu Qi pointed a finger at the tower, causing it to glow brilliantly. Abruptly, the time in the small world hastened by a thousand times. With his cultivation base of a peak-level Gold Immortal, this was the fastest time he could control now.

In this way a day passed in the outside world was a thousand days in the small world, and Wu Qi now had enough time to do something.

Within his interstitial world, the 108,000 ancient stars lit up at the same time. The sixteen types of Great Daos they represented were stirred; countless fine beams of starlight burst out from inside of him, turning him into a silver ball of light in the blink of an eye. The boundless light shrouded him echoed with the starlight poured out from Dark Yin Celestial Tower, and soon they were fused as one.

With a sway of his body, the pearl of ancient Shen he obtained in the past discharged a vast amount of Shen energy, while the Natural Phenomena Medallion happily emanated a great sheet of strange light. Illuminated by the light, the Shen energy immediately radiated a hazy halo. Layers of illusions emerged around Wu Qi, trapping all the tens of thousands of immortals and buddhas. Even Buddha Futu, who was about to produce his true form, the pagoda, after realizing that the odds were against them, had his eyes turned dazed, and was devoured by the illusions.

It was at this brief moment when everyone was dazed that Wu Qi pulled out his trump card. Silently, 108 Kunwu Swords flew out of his body, rapidly drew at the power of stars in the surroundings and merged with the sixteen types of Great Daos to form the Fiend Slaying Sword Formation in the void. The core power of this sword formation was the power of the Great Daos he obtained from the Kaleidoscopic Star Core, which was a power that none of the immortals and buddhas presented knew.

Since they did not know this power, it was extremely difficult for them to counter it.

It only took Wu Qi a fraction of a second to completely freeze the void and slow down the time by a thousand times. It happened so suddenly that even Buddha Futu and the seven Primordial experts could not get used to the change in the speed of time, causing their movements all turned sluggish and awkward. If truth be told, these experts including Buddha Futu had just stepped into the realm of Primordial. Their cultivation level might be one grade higher than Wu Qi, but their magic power and divine ability were not so different from his.

Apart from Buddha Futu, whose cultivation base was boosted by Lord Buddha, no one could be certain who would defeat who, if Wu Qi were to fight head-on against the seven Primordial experts. Not to mention that he had used such a sneaky and sudden attack to trap everyone within a formation.

You can just look at the treasures he had to know what he was capable of: the Dark Yin Celestial Tower, the highest-grade Supreme Tower that could control the time; the Natural Phenomena Medallion personally crafted by the ancient Sacred Emperor, Zhuanxu; 108 Kunwu Swords given by the Yellow Emperor, Xuanyuan; the brand-new laws of star he extracted from the Kaleidoscopic Star Core that none of the immortals of the present time had ever come in contact with; and the Shen energy from the pearl of ancient Shen. With all these mighty treasures, Wu Qi’s formation truly had the power to trap and even kill some Primordial experts.

The Kunwu Swords moved. All the starlight obscuring the void rapidly condensed into sixteen dazzling silver vortexes and began to spin. In a daze, the tens of thousands of immortals and buddhas were drawn into these vortexes; some of the immortals and arhats with the weakest cultivation bases were instantly ripped to pieces by the law of ‘impasse’, their flesh and souls disintegrated and vanished into nothingness. Glowing with faint silver starlight, the swords then slashed out in all directions, slaying those immortals whose cultivation bases were weaker than Wu Qi like a sickle slicing through weeds.

A set of mighty divine weapons, Kunwu Swords was personally crafted by the Yellow Emperor to slay Chiyou. None of the immortals and buddhas present, including Buddha Futu, had a fleshly body that could be compared to Chiyou, the fearsome being. As a result, wherever the swords went, all the immortal flesh and artifacts were sliced through like tofus; golden blood splashed in all directions, and immortal souls and relics flew about haphazardly, yet they were all drawn into the sixteen massive silver vortexes.

The sixteen types of Great Daos, the small world the Natural Phenomena Medallion had conjured, and the boundless illusions the pearl of Shen had created, had trapped all the immortals and buddhas in an endless world of emotions similar to that of the Six Paths of Reincarnation. Every one of them was going through all kinds of queer and terrible scenes. As their divine senses were confused by external forces, they could not detect Wu Qi’s attack.

But not Buddha Futu and the seven Primordial experts. Their cultivation levels were, after all, much superior to the others, and their divine senses had gone through a fundamental change. The formation had only managed to delude them for about ten minutes, before their senses came back to them. Terrible auras emanated out of their bodies, and very quickly they had adapted to the strange sensation brought to them by the time that had been slowed down a thousand times, and in just the blink of an eye they had broken out of the illusions created by the pearl of Shen. Now, they were struggling in the various strange scenes in the small world the Natural Phenomena Medallion had conjured.

But Wu Qi did not give them the chance to struggle further.

After constructing such a powerful formation and instantly killed over ten thousand immortals with it, Wu Qi had depleted all his chaotic energy. He gave a light cry and slapped the top of his head, and in the next instant the soul of Taotie made its appearance amid a deafening roar. The savage beast opened its mouth and drew a breath, pulled the bodies and blood essences of all the immortals and arhats Wu Qi had killed over, and turned them into chaotic energy that he could use in just the blink of an eye.

Then, it opened its giant mouth once more, and devoured the moon with almost all the mortals on it killed in the war. A thousand times bigger than the moon orbiting around the Earth, this moon had only given a muffled crackle in Taoties’ mouth, before it was completely dissolved into a vast stream of chaotic energy and sent into Wu Qi’s body.

Wu Qi gave a long cry, and his final trump card, the Blood Centipede Sword, thrust out in a beam of red light, wheeled about the necks of the eight Primordial experts including Buddha Futu. The sword, crafted with a wisp of innate killing intent, was extremely sharp. Without even had the chance to react, the eight experts grunted, and in a flash the heads of three Primordial Immortals and the Fiend Immortals flew up into the sky.

A beam of golden light shot out of Buddha Futu’s body; his true form, the pagoda, had bolted out of him to block the sword. A crisp ringing of metal echoed out as it knocked the sword flying backward a dozen feet. Meanwhile, the other three Buddhas’ bodies had been wrapped in a golden light. Although Blood Centipede Sword had cut their necks in half, their most important neck bones remained intact.

Buddha Futu regained his ability to move as soon as his pagoda appeared. He roared, shot an angry look at Wu Qi and bellowed, “You again!”

Clenching his teeth, Buddha Futu locked both hands into a lotus seal and pointed it at Wu Qi’s heart. A lotus vajra scepter wrapped in golden flames shot whistling out, smashing toward Wu Qi’s chest. He gave a cold snort. All of a sudden, his body grew to a height of several tens of feet, with three layers of black dragon scales densely covered his skin. Then, with a full force he thrust his fist at Buddha Futu’s attack.

“Let me see how strong you Buddhas are!” Wu Qi roared with laughter. With Dragon Kill in place and plumes of purple mist rising all around him, his fist collided with the scepter. A crisp crackle rang out as all three layers of black dragon scales on his arm broke and shattered, his flesh ripped apart, leaving him with an arm bone that was purple streaked with gold, as transparent as crystal, which looked perfectly intact.

A purple-and-gold finger flicked on the scepter, crumbling it into bits and pieces. Then, like a bolt of lightning, Wu Qi dashed in front of Buddha Futu, lifted his arm that looked as shiny as a blade and hacked it down 3,600 times, all within a fraction of a second.

As Buddha Futu was protected by his pagoda, though Wu Qi’s bones were extremely hard after absorbing the ancient immortal’s remains, his attacks could only make the pagoda glowed brilliantly but not break through the defense. How could he destroy the pagoda with his current cultivation base, when it was Lord Buddha’s personal defensive artifact which had protected him for countless eons?

Buddha Futu gave a wild laugh. But just as he locked both hands into another seal and was about to attack Wu Qi, 108 Kunwu Swords wheeled once more around him. The void shattered, and suddenly he and a few other severely wounded Primordial experts were dragged into the heart of the Fiend Slaying Sword Formation.

Immediately after that, eighteen blood-red shadows rushed out of Wu Qi’s body. Screeching sharply, the Blood-draining Celestial Fiends swooped down toward the immortals and buddhas who were bewildered by the formation. As Blood Sea Grand Magic was best at sucking men’s blood essence, and with his present cultivation base, wherever these fiends went, all of those whose cultivation bases were weaker than he immediately had their blood essences drained. In a twinkling of an eye, the tens of thousands of immortals and buddhas stationed here were slain by Wu Qi, with their blood essences sucked and digested by Blood-draining Celestial Fiends.

Wu Qi gave a cold snort, and took one look at the flying ship spinning rapidly in the starlight, shrouded in the Sky Veiling Flag of Chaos. He hesitated for a moment, and eventually decided to let Liu Bang go for now. He turned around and flew toward King Tang Qiu, who was frozen in midair.

Blood Centipede Sword thrust out in a beam of blood-red light, and before King Tang Qiu could even howl, he was cut in two.
