The old daoist, who had a hole in his belly, and Greathorns, who had a large dent on his forehead, stared at each other. After a full quarter of an hour, both men shook their bodies at the same time. An exotic aroma spread out across the air, and then both men’s injuries healed in the blink of an eye. Even their energy was at their peak, exactly the same as before the injury.
After glaring at each other again for a while, Greathorns waved his spear and said dryly, “Get out of here and leave me alone.”
The daoist considered for a moment, then lowered his voice and said softly, “Greathorns, why don’t you just let Green Emperor, White Emperor, and Black Emperor cultivate here with you? As long as they don’t leave this tree, I’ll forget today’s incident. What do you think?”
Greathorns rolled his eyes, then lifted his spear and thrust it at the daoist once again. The attack was very different from the previous one. When the spear was thrust, the surrounding void suddenly became dark red and the temperature soared. The twisting heatwaves melted the void into a swaying shadow, trapping the daoist in the middle.
The swaying shadow burst as the tip of the spear lightly stabbed at it, and then the void in it completely vanished with a boom, leaving the daoist sitting on his hassock with an unsightly face, hovering in what seemed to be a small but, in fact, extremely vast nothingness. Ring after ring of green light spread out of his body in all directions, restoring the vanished space, time, air, heatwave, and other components of existence. Everything turned as it was in the blink of an eye.
“Greathorns, are you really going to mess with us?” snapped the old man.
The Lord of Fire spat a glob of phlegm on the ground. It was a purple-black mass of lava, and when the raging purple-black flame around it touched the ocean of lava, it turned the lava within several miles into blue smoke, showing how insanely hot his phlegm was. “You are the one who came to mess with me first!” he said dryly.
He cracked his neck, causing purple flames to gush out of the great horns atop his head. “Let’s fight!” he cried out coldly. “If you can take them from me, I’ll stay away from this matter. But if you fail, get the hell out of here…and give me the pool of ‘Quench Essence’ you found in Primal Chaos 3,000 years ago, the cauldron of ‘Temper Pills’ you concocted 2,700 years ago, and the female disciple with innate fire divine meridian you took 500 years ago.”
He cocked his head and thought for a while, then went on, “I also want your drinking horn that produces a horn-full of good wine every day. You daoists and monks are an unreasonable bunch! You have laid down so many rules and regulations for your disciples, and yet you are hiding in your cave abodes eating meat and drinking wine! What a disgrace! Since I wash down every meal with wine, the drinking horn should be mine!”
The old daoist clenched his teeth and growled, “Are you a robber? You…”
Greathorns arched an eyebrow and said carelessly, “Which robber is stronger than me? Well, since you want to take them away from me, I’m going to take something I like from you as well. It’s only fair!”
As his face turned blue with anger, the old daoist casually waved the ruyi scepter in his hand. Immediately, two shadows, a dragon and a tiger, shot out of it and flew toward Greathorns. “Fine! Show me how far you’ve come after so many years!”
Wu Qi carefully sent a wisp of divine sense mixed with fire-element energy out of the ground to peep at the battle of the two Dao Fusing experts. ‘Ah, Dao Fusing experts…’ In his previous life, Wu Qi was only a step away from the realm with his hand touching the door before he was killed. He swore to himself that he would fuse with the Dao in this life no matter what, so that he could see what it was like.
The dragon and the tiger swooped down on Greathorns, but he paid the two purple shadows no mind. Instead, he lifted his spear as he gave a loud roar and thrust it toward the old daoist’s forehead. Meanwhile, the two shadows struck him with a loud rumble, ripping two large holes on his body. However, the tip of his spear had come very close to the daoist’s forehead.
An exotic aroma drifted across the air and Greathorns’s battered body instantly recovered as it had been before he was injured.
The old daoist snorted coldly and pointed his scepter in the air. A dazzling glow suddenly burst from Greathorns’s spear and transformed into a tree branch in the blink of an eye, red in color and glowing with flames. With just a casual move, the old daoist had restored Greathorns’s spear to its original form, a branch taken from the Origin Tree of Fire.
Greathorns burst out laughing and grabbed hold of the branch which suddenly exploded into dozens of spears identical to the original one, shooting back and forth as it drew out a net of fire in the air. When the dragon and the tiger came swooping down at him once again, the net closed around them and trapped them inside. Then, he opened his mouth and blew a stream of purple flame at them, melting them down into a golden light that faded away.
The ruyi scepter in the old daoist’s hand gave a loud crackling noise as it suddenly split into countless rare materials glinting brilliantly with a golden light and a dozen spirit pearls exuding the unique aura of Primal, soaring into the air as they were about to turn into beams of light and fly away. With a cold snort of anger, the daoist waved his left hand and rolled all the materials into his sleeve. After that, he made a few gestures with his right hands and conjured three huge hands wrapped in tendrils of boiling purple smoke, making them grab down toward the three emperors.
As the hands swooped at the targets, a plume of blue smoke gushed out from the top of his head. With that, three daoists who looked identical as him flew out of it while laughing. “Don’t panic, fellow daoist! We will help you take down this evil thing!” they chorused.

The three old daoists appeared out of the blue smoke, one with a shoulder pole, one with a bamboo drum, and one with two blue swords, as they laughed and began to attack Greathorns. Their weapons were extremely powerful! A casual blow of the shoulder pole could turn the void into chaos; the sound made by the bamboo drum could shatter all spiritual beings including gods, ghosts, and souls; and the swords were sharp enough to cut everything apart.
Greathorns was thrown into confusion as soon as they joined the battle. He was not only beaten seven times by the shoulder pole, which broke the bones and tendons in his legs, but also had his head reeling at the sound made by the drum. Meanwhile, the two swords had been trying to get close to his neck, and had almost separated his head from his body on several occasions. Even though he had the cultivation base of a Dao Fusing expert, if his head were chopped off, it would still hurt him so badly that he would need to stay in bed for some time to recover.
Meanwhile, the three great hands had arrived over the three emperors and were about to capture them when the lion man, standing on the tree above them, flapped his wings as he leaped down and dispersed them with a slash of his sword. “Dao Patriarch Longbrows, it’s not fair to fight one with four!” he snapped.
The old daoist glanced surprisingly at the lion man, who had destroyed the hands he had conjured with his energy essence with a single strike, and sneered, “Oh, you are that little kitten Greathorns had picked up from the Primal Chaos…I can’t believe you have attained such an incredible cultivation base now. Aye, not bad!”
He laughed mockingly and said, “Triunity, this is my unique divine ability. If you don’t think it’s fair, why don’t you come and help your master?”
Before the lion man could answer, Greathorns already roared in fury, “What are you waiting for? This old ox’s nose is fighting me with three clones! Come on, help me kick his a*s!”
Just as the old daoist was stunned by Greathorns’s words, a pitch-black seal came whistling down from the sky and smashed the daoist with the shoulder pole. The violent impact caused thousands of lotus flowers to bloom above his head and nearly threw him into the lava below.
At the same time, a scroll with a taiji diagram conjured entirely of chaotic energy flew out from a corner and fluttered in front of the daoist holding the bamboo drum as it shot out a ray of light that drew him into a small world inside. If one looked closely, one would see an eagle-headed man clad in a long shirt attacking the daoist with a big axe inside the scroll.
On the other side of the battlefield, a tiny golden bell appeared with a tinkle over the daoist holding two swords. Before he could swing his swords at it, the bell rocked, causing the void around them to crack open. It then burst with a blinding light while slamming at the daoist and pushing him into the shattered void.
Then, three figures emerged quietly from the lava and surrounded the old daoist with Greathorns, who was covered in wounds.
The daoist’s face turned extremely unsightly. Gritting his teeth, he glanced at the three figures who had just appeared and said angrily, “Wu Divinity, Lord Changmu, Yao Ling, are you really going to give us a hard time?”
Wu Divinity was a pale, frail-looking teenager.
Lord Changmu was a tall and strong old man with a benevolent face, beaming with energy.
Yao Ling was a very beautiful girl. She was wearing a long black dress that was over a hundred miles long, embroidered with the patterns of countless exotic flowers and plants between the heaven and earth.
The daoist was surrounded by four Dao Fusing experts now. If the three figures who took his clones away were included, he was now facing seven Dao Fusing experts.
The three almighty experts smiled and did not answer him.
Greathorns, on the other hand, glared at him and snorted coldly. “What do you mean by giving you a hard time? We’ve been waiting here for the unlucky ones to come. Whoever comes here today will be beaten up. I’ve been saying this, that you bunch of ox’s noses and bald donkeys have to be beaten up so you can remember!”
He gave a cold laugh and said triumphantly, “Seven bald donkeys are now blocking Empress Wa’s front gate. Heh, we’ve also prepared seven people here to beat you. Since you like to bully others with numbers, and since you are imperishable, we’re going to have a fun time beating you!”
The daoist’s mouth twitched with rage. He looked at Lord Changmu and asked, “Lord Changmu, you are the most sedate of the eighteen saints. Why are you fooling around with them?”
Lord Changmu pondered for a moment and then took out a wooden stick that was about a foot thick and a dozen feet long while trembling. “What fooling around?” he said in a low voice, “I just couldn’t resist to beat you up!”
He whistled as he lifted the wooden stick and struck the daoist on the forehead.
