As soon as I was certain that bear was gone and that there was no one else around, I got undressed. My armor came off with ease, its dress like shape allowing me to just pull it off. Next to go was my sword, which clattered to the ground with a loud thump. Last, and hardest to remove, was my bra. Due to it having an infinite amount of strings to untie, I had to lift up off of my chest. Which was easier said than done with a bosom as large as mine.

Once undressed, I dipped into the water upper body first. Waves of cool refreshing, and pure, water crashed down onto my skin and scales. The downpour was so strong that it scrubbed away a thick layer of dirt, revealing glistening scales beneath. It also created a miniature of a lake within my cleavage, that then poured onto my belly.

I let myself enjoy it for a few minutes, resisting the urge to go out and hunt for adventure or a good meal. My pent up energy raged against me, discontent with doing nothing. Still, I stayed put and let my human half sink into the water a little. Just deep enough that my back was submerged and water nearly touched my ears.

It was surprisingly unnerving.

After going so long without an actual break, I found relaxing to be both difficult and uncomfortable. It was as if I was doing nothing while a crisis was going on. Like being in the middle of a storm and forcing myself to not move, to stay still and resist the primal urge to run.

I managed to stay like that for roughly 5 minutes before getting out of the water and slithering over to my gear. The first piece that I put back on was my bra. It was also the hardest piece to put back on, requiring me to slot my breasts into it one at a time. After getting it on, tightening it, and further adjusting it, came my sword. The belt barely fit on my wider frame, and lastly came my actual armor. Which I put on like a big dress.

Once I was all dressed and ready, I set out into the forest... And was immediately assaulted.

Two shapes jumped out of the trees. One was larger than the other but moved just as fast. And they were fast. In what seemed like less than a single second they were on my back, weapons drawn and prepared to fight.

Rather than turn and prepare myself for what would probably be a very close fight, I slithered forward as fast as I could. Which was jarringly fast, faster than what I had even expected. The sudden and extreme jolt in speed knocked my two unwanted passengers off their feet. As they fell I released my thorns.

Only to watch as they did a flip before they could land. Instead of getting a back full of water bottle sized thorns, they landed on their feet a few feet further back. Then they ran, again becoming blurs of all black.

In a mix of panic and quick thinking, I rolled. A portion of the forest was cleared of trees as I rolled to the left. Wood cracked and crunched beneath me, boulders and even a few hills were pulled into dust and echoes. Animals large and small shared the same fate, unless they were fast enough to get away. Most weren't.

The two shadows on my back were, however. Somehow they had clung to me and managed to come out unfazed, not a scratch or bit of dirt on them. Once more they ran, and this time I was too slow to react and barely managed to grab my sword before the first strike hit. Not that having my sword made much of a difference.

They dodged my attacks with preternatural speed and agility. Even launching my scales at them was a pointless endeavor, they were beyond me. Using all that speed, they stabbed and cut me repeatedly, not once using any essence.

It was humbling in the most horrifying way.

I watched as my attacks were avoided, as they counterattacked and exploited my every flaw and weakness. Their blades found kinks in my armor and dug into the flesh below, drawing blood. It wasn't long before I started to feel weak, and weaker. The strength to world my weapon fading along with my will to fight back.

Shortly after a sword, no longer than my arm, found a way towards my heart. It came from my left and plunged straight into my chest all the way to my heart.

My vision went black.

My hearing was snuffed out.

My body went limp, all the way down to the tip of my tail.

Then I fell. I didn't even hear or feel the crash, I just knew that it happened. After that, though, I had a vision.

There was a single purple flower amongst a field of roses. The purple flower held no thorns and stood straight up, pointing towards the sun. Slowly, people began to pass through the area. Each person took a flower until there was none left.

Save for the purple one.

It sat alone and untended to in the field, still pointing up at the sun. Over the course of an agonizingly long month, the flower died. It left a single purple petal behind.

That petal grew into another purple flower, exactly where the last had died. It too was never cared for and died, leaving only a petal behind. The pattern repeated itself over and over and over.

Until someone came and picked it, Leaving the field empty. Save for a few purple petals that had fallen off the flower. From those petals many more purple flowers grew, filling up the field after a couple of years.

They all stood straight, pointing up at the sun, triumphant over death.

Amongst the flowers, there was a purple serpent. It, out of hunger or curiosity, ate one of the flowers. The process took it one whole hour. An hour after that it started to die from poison. Still, it wriggled and fought to survive.

Eventually it won.

It was a short and hollow victory, as it was now too weak and hungry to leave. So it again ate a flower. This time it managed to fight off the poison much quicker.

Still it was left to weak to leave.

The struggle repeated itself, again and again and again. Until at some point the snake had become immune to the poison. Triumphantly, the snake hissed up at the sky, declaring it's victory over death.

Then I saw myself.

I was in an empty field devoid of trees and any noticeable amount of life. Beneath me there was a massive crater, and my length extended beyond my sight.

I was clearly dead. There was even a sword sticking out of my chest still. It was the same one that had ended my life.

For a while I watched my body as it began to slowly decay. Only for the process to get interrupted. Essence flowed into my corpse, filling it with strength. It was an explosive sort of strength, the kind that I had once craved after first arriving here. As the essence continued to flow in, my body was encased in a thick blanket of some sort of tan material. I wasn't sure what it was, but it covered me for what felt like several months.

Then a crack appeared on its surface.
