Shiyu continued to prepare the food in such a joyful and harmonious atmosphere. All the preparations were nearly done when there was a chime at the gate and the door opened to reveal Xuan Yin and Dong-Fang Zhen walking in together.
They’re here.
Shiyu’s heart began to thump anxiously. Her eyes flitted over to the living room but found that the chair Wen Heng had designated as his own was empty. In fact, even the chair was gone.
“Wen Xian, where’s your brother?” asked Shiyu.
[1] “Um…” Wen Xian blinked and started to look around too.
“He left with Old Gu. I saw Old Gu left with a cask of wine under one arm. I think the older generation had gone off to enjoy a drink together,” Feng Luo answered.
San Pang squeezed over to say, “Fat Cat has gone with them too,”
“… …” I see, so it was a gathering of elders, ah.
[2] Fine, we young people can enjoy our barbecue while the older generation drink and exchange war stories.
As the night sky sparkled with more stars, excitement began to fill the Villa. Fires had been lit and tables groaned with meat, cold snacks and fruit juices. Those who wanted to could try grilling their own food while others lounge around to either chat or eat.
Lin Fan and Qing Chen had stationed themselves by the table full of food, taking turns to grill or hand out food. Feng Luo and Shiyu sat together, chatting the evening away as they ate, drank and gossiped.
Dong-Fang Zhen occasionally joined in the gossiping, but it was clear that his attention was mostly on Xuan Yin. He occasionally ran over to Xuan Yin to offer up Grilled Spicy Chicken Wings, Grilled Octopus and Grilled Yellow Croaker Fish he had personally cooked. Unfortunately, his craftsmanship was lacking and Xuan Yin… well, Xuan Yin barely managed to choke down a few bites before refusing to eat anymore.
Basically, these two lovers were just scattering gold level dog food [3] at everyone.
Qi Chuyun and Xiao Shu still considered themselves outsiders and therefore were a little more reserve. However, Feng Luo and Shiyu soon pulled them into their gossip circle and the two young women began to relax. As for the three youngest, they were either set to work delivering food or were teased by their older brothers and sisters.
“By the way, I heard that the Seal on Divine Tea Mountain will be lifted tomorrow, will any of you be going after the Tea of Enlightenment?” asked Shiyu as she bit into a piece of barbecued meat.
The chances of being injured during the Divine Tea Tribulation was high. Anyone who chose to go after the Tea of Enlightenment must have great luck and strength. After all, even if they managed to get their hands on the Tea, they would have to do their best not to get robbed by others. The other strategy was to let the eager ones fight among themselves first before coming in to pick off the injured stragglers.
Shiyu did not want to be in either category.
“Lin Fan and I will be going,” said Feng Luo. They had discussed this already, “What about you?”
“Not going,” Shiyu waved her hand lazily. “What about the rest of you?”
“Xuan Yin and I will give it a try,” said Dong-Fang Zhen. After all, the mountain was just there, he might as well test his skills.
Soon, the talk went to strategy.
“I supposed the four of you could work together,” said Shiyu. “Having more people together should increase the chances of success.”
“En,”
“When will you be going?”
“Not tomorrow, we’ll wait for the others to clear the way first. We’ll go later.” Those who are too eager and rushed full speed into danger have a higher chance of dying. The more competent people would not struggle against them. As a general rule, the more powerful a Cultivator, the later they would join.
“Then, I wish you all every success!” Shiyu raised her glass to her friends.
After that, the talk went on to future plans. Nearly everyone said they plan to travel outside to train and gain more strength.
Well, it’s to be expected, perhaps it is still too early to think about long term plans.

While the young people were enjoying the barbecue and chatting among themselves, Elder Feng and Elder Gu met up with the Dean of the Imperial College. [4] They stopped at the Villa for Elder Feng to introduce his grandson and Lin Fan to Elder Gu. After learning that Old Gu was not around, they did not stay long.
Once they left the young people to their little party, Elder Feng asked, “Well? What do you think?”
Elder Gu sighed, “I must say, their potential is certainly higher than ours. With proper polishing, they could surpass us very quickly.”
“Right? That’s why I’ve been racking my brains to think of where to send them next,” said Elder Feng [5].
“Hmm, I say, I have an idea,” said the Dean of the College as he stroked his beard. “Regardless of their Cultivation, it’s best to improve oneself thoroughly to grow. Of all the living beings on earth, the human races are the sharpest, most cunning of creatures. Rather than sending them to the distant ends of the earth to Cultivate, how about the few of us old fellows get together and give them a little assistance?”
Elder Feng’s eyes narrowed, “You mean…”
“Haha, come, let us go to the palace. After all, the master of this land is still the emperor, we should get his permission to use that place. However, I trust that he would not reject us.”

After the party, everyone worked together to clean up the garden before settling down to rest.
[2] Shiyu yawned and stretched lazily, thanks to the many helping hands and her increased Cultivation, she was not really tired, but the thought of flopping into bed was still rather inviting.
She was about to head upstairs when Lin Fan approached her.
He held out a bag made of something that looked like leather sewn together with gold threads. “This is for you. It’s some energy balls we gathered in that world. It could be directly absorbed into the meridians. There isn’t a lot, but I thought you might want them.”
Shiyu came over and opened the bag. Little balls of light that had been trapped inside the bad began to float out, Shiyu quickly shoved them back and looked at Lin Fan with wide eyes, “Don’t you need these?”
“I thought, since you might have not seen them before, I brought some for you to look at.”
“Thank you very much,” Shiyu was really intrigued by these little balls of energy. She took another peek at the floating balls before saying, “Wait here, I have something for you too.”
Tucking the bag away, Shiyu rushed to her room. As soon as the door closed behind her, she leapt into the secret space. Once there, she grabbed a jade bottle and scooped up some of the Spring of Life water, then randomly collected over a dozen Medicinal Herbs. After stuffing everything into a bag, she came out of the space and ran downstairs.
With a smile, she handed the bag to Lin Fan, “Please use these Medicinal Herbs as you see fit. This bottle contains a very special kind of water. If you ever get injured on Divine Tea Mountain just a sip of it could help you maintain your vitality and preserve your life.”
When Lin Fan heard this, he tried to push the bag away, “This is too valuable, just keep them for yourself.”
“I have more of these. Besides, you’ll be going somewhere really dangerous soon and I want everyone to come back safe.” She has so few friends in this world that she did not want to lose even one of them.
At her sincere insistence, Lin Fan did not refuse anymore.
He accepted the bag and later opened it in the privacy of his room. After he had laid the precious herbs and medicines out on the table, he was stunned to find that these precious herbs were more than a thousand years old! What was even more remarkable was that all of these precious herbs looked as though they had been freshly picked.
Lin Fan was aware that Shiyu has her secrets and this must be connected to one of them. After staring a bit longer, he put the herbs back into the bag. He would distribute these herbs later to the team planning to challenge the Divine Tea Mountain. He would just tell them that they came from Old Gu and no one would question their origins.
As for the jade bottle of spring water…
He carefully uncorked the bottle and took Aa sniff. Suddenly, the surrounding air felt more alive. Even the wooden tables and chairs began to grow buds and shoots.
“What incredible vitality!” Lin Fan quickly corked the bottle back with trembling hands. This single bottle of water might actually be more valuable than the entire bag of thousand-year-old medicinal herbs!
Just what the heck is this?
He must ask his teacher about this later. [6]
In a daze, he put the bag of medicinal herbs away in his space ring along with the bottle of remarkable water. He had just managed to take a calming breath when the door opened and in came Feng Luo.
“I’ve finally washed off the smell of wine on myself. Ugh, I’m so tired, I’ll sleep first,” with that, he flopped onto the bed and was soon asleep.
Lin Fan looked down at the young man on his bed. He wanted to complain. Wei, we are no longer in that terrible world, we don’t have to huddle together for warmth and safety anymore so will you please scram?
However, seeing that Feng Luo had already fallen asleep, he sat down cross-legged on the floor and began to meditate.
The night passed quietly.
The next day, as the sun slowly moved along the sky, the crowd around the Divine Tea Mountain began to seethe with impatience. The clouds that had been hovering around the sharp peaks of the high mountains slowly lifted.
Finally, someone shouted, “The Seal has lifted!”
