Fate
Fate is something I don't believe in.
Why?
Because if you rely on fate, you will never go anywhere.
Imagine claiming to yourself after failing your exams, "It's all fate; there was nothing I could do to avoid it." Bullshit.
You are unknowingly giving up on yourself and allowing your destiny to be in the hands of some so-called fate, which is horrible.
"The future has a way of arriving unannounced." –.
It's true, but that doesn't imply you should sit around doing nothing.
"When in doubt, choose change." –
If you want to make a difference in your life, you must give it your all and achieve it before it is too late.
In junior high, there was a teacher who was always offering us life lessons. Most of the time, we ignored him, but one day, we found out he was being moved to another school. When we found out he was going, he came into our class and remarked before departing, "The world we live in is a type of sport's race. Here everyone wants to take first position, but the question is how many can archive it."
To answer your question, only a handful may claim first place—"
"Sir, are those who finish second, third, and fourth worthless?" My mouth automatically said those words.
"That's a good question, Aiden.
Well, each function has its own significance; after all, a country can't operate just on the strength of its first-place finisher, can it? So don't be upset if you can't make it to the top, but never ever persuade yourself that "Oh, 70 marks, not bad" is acceptable. You're just marking your limit if you do anything like that. so always, dream big. "
Those words were like a telegram from heaven to me.
I still adhere to my teacher's lessons to this day.
**********
The interview has concluded after one hour of nonstop questions.
I was sitting in the campus park, sipping a can of coke.
"How refreshing!"
My head ached, but the coke brought me back to life.
I was dripping coke when I heard footsteps behind me.
When I turned around to check who was approaching, I noticed a man dressed in black butler attire was approaching me.
He came to a halt as he approached me, saying, "Is your business done over here, Mr. Aiden?" "Lady Sophie is expecting you in the house." In a respectful tone, the butler said.
"U–umm, Who exactly are you? "
("_"
"Hey?"
"I'm Lady Sofia's personal butler; you probably haven't seen me yet; are you finished with your university work?"
I'm done, but why does Lady Sophie want to meet me? Is there something wrong?"
"I'm not sure about the facts, Mr. Aiden; all I know is that I was told to accompany you to Lady Sophie."
I stopped asking questions and began following him. After leaving the school, he led me to a white Jeep and told me to sit in the back seat.
I sat in the back, as instructed.
I noticed him making a phone call to someone as I was getting into the car.
After finishing his phone call, he started the engine and began driving quickly in the opposite direction of Mr. James' residence.
"Mister, aren't we heading to the villa, but this isn't the way to get there?" I inquired, my voice trembling.
"Don't worry, I'm heading to another villa where Lady Sophie is."
I have many questions, such as why will Sofia, whom I hardly knew, contact me to speak with her? I can't think of a decent reason why she'd be upset with me.
While I was pondering all of this, I didn't see that my automobile had come to a standstill in front of a large mansion.
"Mr. Aiden, we have arrived."
Please take a step outside. and wait for me here, where I have to park. This car, after coming back, I will accompany you to the mansion, "he remarked.
while he drove the car into the parking area in the mansion's backyard.
After a bit, he appeared and led me into the home. This mansion was similar to the one Mr. James brought me to, but it gave off a lonely vibe, as if it were a locked fortress. And the major reason I'm mentioning this is because of the painting hanging on the right hand corner of the stairway.
It was a painting of a girl clutching a piece of paper in her palm, staring at a happy family from afar.
I've never been a big admirer of art, but this artwork drew me in.
"Mr. Aiden, In this way"
While I was zoning out, the butler motioned for me to follow him.
Unlike the previous estate where Servents were present, this mansion was deafeningly quiet.
There were no other sounds emanating from the mansion except my and Butler's footsteps.
After a few minutes of strolling, we arrived to a door that led to the garden of the mansion.
"Mr. Aiden," This is as far as I can go; please go straight and turn left; there will be a white shed, a tiny cottage with a rest room where Lady Sofia may be found. "
I nodded and began heading towards the garden.
As he stated, there were few restrooms. From a distance, I can see a lady wearing a full white gown in the center of the grass.
***********
"Greetings Miss Sofia, I heard you called for me?"
She says to me, with a big smile on her face,
"Why don't you sit down and have a cup of tea first, and then we can talk about why I called for you."
I'm not sure why, but her every word sounds kind to my ears, and nobility emanates from her at every turn. It seemed as though I was standing in front of a queen.
I take a seat on the other side of the table, as per her request.
She then began brewing tea after observing I had sat down, and a few minutes later, she placed a cup near my hand and asked me to drink it.

While sipping tea, I spotted a photograph of three people standing side by side in a frame.
"Oh, are you interested in that picture?"
"Yeah, I was wondering who the youngster in the image between you two was."
"He's my late son, I mean."
I could feel the sadness in those words.
"I'm sorry to tell you," I said.
"Oh, please don't be. It's just that I can't get over the death of my son."
"If I recall correctly, Mr. James stated that he did not have any children."
CREAK
She jumps out of her chair and rushes towards the door, her face tense.
As I watched her flee back into the home, she vanished.
'Did I make a mistake? Come to think of it, her phone had a notification sound, so that may be the case; I hope it is.'
At that point, the butler summoned me.
"Mr. Aiden, Lady Sofie has an urgent matter to attend to, which is why she was unable to finish speaking with you; please accept my apologies on her behalf."
"You don't have to be Mr. I understand. so then I will take my leave now. "
I remarked this as I stood up from my seat and began heading outside with the butler. When he came outside, he said he would drive me, but I refused.
Instead, I phoned a cab and said my goodbyes to the butler.
While driving home, I began to wonder why Mr. James had given me a falsehood about not having any children. I can tell Lady Sofia wasn't lying or giving me a falsehood based on the expression on her face when I inquired about the image.
But the real question is why she summoned me there in the first place.
WAIT!!
That man in the image I saw does not resemble Mr. James; in fact, he appears to be much younger. Is he related to them?
"Sir, we've arrived at the central library."
I felt it would be boring to go to the villa so soon, and it was 4:00 p.m., so I went to the library to read some books, and I also needed to buy some books for my university courses.
Assassinating two birds with one stone.
I entered the grand library after paying the fee. Inside, the library was as large as an amphitheater, with a long row of bookshelves.
In the middle was a reading area where students like myself and others of all ages were reading.
I entered the library silently and went to the business and economics section of the bookshelves, pulling out the list of books I needed to read and beginning to select books.
"Just one left. Where it is? Oh, there you are. "
"HEYYYY, that's mine."
A shout engulfed the building as I was obtaining the last book on my list that I needed to buy.
I paused my hand an inch away from the book I was about to purchase and turned my head to see who had yelled.
What I saw was a female with long blond hair and specs peering at me anxiously.
"Sorry, may I assist you with something?" I inquired softly.
"I want that book you were about to take from the shelf," she said.
'What is this, a joke?' I said to myself.
"As you can see, I was the first to grab it, so it belongs to me, so I'm sorry that I can't offer you this book; my university starts next week, and I need this book to submit my assignment."
"B-but I also have to do the assignment from this book, and this was the library's final copy of it." Another book will take a week or two to arrive. ''
She looked down, fiddling with her hands.
A thought occurred to me.
"How about we take turns finishing our assignments?"
She directs her gaze in my direction. "Can you explain what you mean?"
"The university homework that you must do is due next week, correct?" As I have stated, mine as well.
We'll go to the library every day this week and work on our assignments side by side. Every day, we take turns reading the book in the night.
That way, we'll be able to complete our task on time.
"What do you think?"
She nods and begins to ponder in response to my comments.
As she was contemplating, I started looking at her face to get a good look at her. Her eyes are almond-shaped and very dark brown, and she has a baby face. Her face is broad and round, with a pointy chin. Her complexion is rich brown, with a rosy glow around her cheekbones. She's tall and lanky, yet she has a slump that makes her appear shorter.
"Hello, are you there?" "Are you listening?"
I didn't see she was waving her hand in front of my face since I was starring at her.
"Oh apologize, I suppose I was spacing off."
''Weirdo. Yes, I like the concept. You may count on my support. "
I was relieved when she responded. If I could, I would obtain it all by myself, but there is a habit of mine that I dislike: "helping others in need."
"You, so can we begin today?"
"I have a name. My name is Aiden." So stop addressing me as 'you.'
"All right, Aiden, you may call me Clara."
She raises her hand to shake mine.
I clasped her hand in mine and said,
''It's nice to meet you, Clara."
