"You may leave, Ciel. I will be here for some more time."
As Seth spoke, the silver-haired maiden who was standing some inches behind his chair, got out of her reverie. She was bored enough to doze while standing even though she rarely let herself slack off while doing her job.
But she couldn't do anything about it, since as a secretary of the Student Council President, there was no way she could leave the man and get back home.
And the above-mentioned fact led her response to the President's suggestion.
"I am honored that President is so considerate but I humbly have to reject-"
"I didn't ask Ciel."
Ciel flinched at his slightly sharper tone which he directed without even lifting his gaze from the files he has been reading ever since.
A small bulge appeared on her porcelain fluffy cheek as with a frown she collected her things and started to walk away without any thought of looking back at this ungrateful man.
But before she could have walked even ten steps and reached the exit, the only person beside her present inside the office again called up for her. This time strangely a lot softer.
"Ciel."
She again flinched but didn't turn her head since she knew he still would have been looking down at his file. But her annoyance blew away in an instant as she heard the next words which were completely out of nowhere.
"Thank you for always helping out. I appreciate your hard work."
Her whole soul trembled this time upon hearing the words which she couldn't even imagine in her head to hear from this ice-stone man.
Flusteredly she turned her head and looked over her shoulder toward the end of the office. Well, it would be too much for her to expect that he possibly could look at her while praising her.
But looking closely, even though his eyes were focused on the files, there was an extremely small smile lifting the corner of his lips. Or maybe she was dreaming all this?
"T-T-T-Th-Thank y-you Prez. A-And please rest e-early….
And with those words, Ciel darted away with her mind blowing off the steam and ears practically burning like an inferno. She couldn't take so much at once! She is a maiden after all!

**TAP**
Putting away the file on the shelves a sigh involuntarily leaked out of my mouth as I glanced at the clock hanging over the entrance.
It was six in the evening.
I have been studying the whole day about the school administration and the basic mage-related stuff. The latter stuff was highly suspicious to read in public so I tried hiding them in some other case files.

This is the reason why I sent Ciel away since she always stands behind me which was troublesome.
As for the knowledge I get… then it was no less than high as MT. Everest if compared to what was described in the novel. Well, I can't blame the author since the story was already packed with volumes of the main plot.
To make a separate volume just to detail the history and origination of Soul Energy would be a little too much.
The history of Temples is vast enough to take about half a year of my time to completely instill inside my brain. But there are quite useful points I got to know from the books available here.
Soul Energy arrived on Earth when these weird runic temples popped out of the ground. That signifies that once every Temple is cleared, there lies a chance to extinguish Soul Energy from this globe.
But there's a possibility of bringing fatal danger for those humans who have adapted to Soul Energy.
Soul Energy is like a drug from what I have sensed and it might force humanity to kneel and accept their death if not provided with their addiction.
And in the first place who would like to think of a world without Soul Energy when they were having such good lives?
All people aside, I myself would never deny this power which makes me inhumane and provides me with endless potential.
**GRUMBLE**
Breaking the train of my thoughts my stomach growled, reminding me that despite being strong I still need to take care of my appetite.
Soul Energy, just as I said before, is like a drug. If one starts to rely on it for everything then there would be no way out.
And I have no interest in living like a literal undead.
"Let's wrap it up for now, shall we? "
I stretched my lips and cracked my back with a jerk before picking up my bag and stuffing some files in it. These files or any other thing from the student council office are highly confidential and only can be taken out by me, Lara or Ciel.
Walking out of the door I thought to stop by the cafèteria but I shrugged the thought and intended to walk out when someone called for me.
"Ara~You were still here, President Seth?"
