Chapter 1: Prologue 00: Dying For Some Sleep

Hour 39, Archer Bell had been awake that long, fine tuning the release demo for the unveiling of his full dive virtual reality interface. When activated, the headsets were connected to a quantum computer that was directly powered by an on-site fusion power generator.

Both things he helped design with his breakthroughs in AI computing and fusion efficiency that changed the world 12 years ago, though both were much newer designs than when he was 17. 

But this had all started long before even then, the obsession that drove him came when his dad brought home a xendni VR headset. He had Archer try a popular game that was ported to VR called Elder Dragons: 6, he was not long after obsessed with worlds of fantasy.

After a while the worlds of fantasy weren't enough for him, he needed more depth, and as his dad always said: "Don't just hope for something to happen, make it happen." Combined with his dad telling him that someone else actually made these worlds he loved so much he naively set out to make a world of magic with as much depth as possible when he was 9. 

His parents both thought he was kidding, however Archer came home from school everyday and just watched video's and studied how to make a video game. By time he was 12 he'd actually done it, his parents thought he was joking at first but he had made a magic crafting fantasy game called "Rune Weaver" that in weeks topped a couple major online game markets.

At 12, Archer Bell made his first 10 million dollars, selling a sandbox magic crafting video game.

It still wasn't enough, the next game he planned wouldn't run on computers for 12 years, and that was generous. He refocused his time on using AI for optimizing performance and procedural generation in games. He wanted a game where nearly anything was possible in magic, where the users could do things the developers could never imagine. 

At 14 he had left behind almost everything a child would normally have enjoyed, his parents tried to pry him away from his work, they gave up after seeing his excitement as he told them what he was doing day on day ended up melting there hearts eventually. 

On the day before his 15th birthday he struck a partnership with a major company giving them his AI. They then built large scale architecture for it, selling it as a service for large array of applications, mainly scientific study simulations and video game engines. 

At 15, Archer Bell made his first 10 billion dollars. 

At 17, he helped create a new AI simulation model that played a critical role in solving major fusion problems. Thus overcoming a critical energy problem in deploying a more powerful AI system.

From 18-29 reinvesting every dollar made into his work, he even lived in his office 5 days a week, his goal was on the horizon. A complete full dive VR fantasy world was being launched today and he just finished announcing it. As he was walking off stage exhausted from his long almost two days of sleepless work, he felt a fiery ball of iron forming in his chest. The weight brought him down to his knees, breathing was getting more difficult by the second.

He could hear people rushing up to him, shouting his name but he couldn't reply. Archer was trying to stay up on his knees, the strength was leaving him fast, and the floor was looking rather welcoming. 

Archer Bell a man who changed the world entirely so he could make the fantasy world experience of his dreams, died moments before beginning his retirement. 

As the stage lights and all the noise of the crowd faded into the darkness, a women's voice spoke echoing through every corner of the void.

"Would you like to make a deal to experience a world greater than that which you've created?"

A window appeared with only two options:

Without a moment of delay, Archer replied, "Yes, let me hear your offer."

Even Abala was none the wiser that the deal she offered, a mortal man ripe with desire, would bring about the first mortal to rise to godhood in history.
