I finally started the long days of research, searching through records, and sending messages up the wall to see if they knew anything more. It took almost three weeks for me to work through everything that the researchers had. Witness reports, areas of higher infections, and every other statistic that they had concerning the beast strains.

I had spent my time under Bonika's tender care as a specimen as well. I gained quite a few diagnostic spells and surprisingly enough, sample gathering and dissection spells. The dissection ones weren't on me, thankfully. One of their patients died of natural causes, namely of old age, and the old goat's last request was to do whatever they wanted to his body to try and find the source of the disease. It was both noble and sad, since he had no family remaining.

The researchers learned a lot from him, as did I. Most of his organs were the same shape as if he were human, just larger and enhanced to support the larger body and animal functions. His skull was thicker and his brain was smaller... and yet, still distinctly human.

That night, I made the Freemartin laugh when I claimed it was solid proof that the rams she competed against had much smaller brains than her. She felt bad right after, then I told her that the old goat would have loved to know that he made her laugh. She smiled at me and gave me a kiss, which quickly devolved into us making love for half of the night.

She really got off when I suckled on all six of her nipples, so I always made it a point to do that whenever I had the chance. Plus, who wouldn't want to enjoy playing with six breasts on a woman? I know I sure did. I pretty much wallowed in them and she loved it.

Once I had collated all of the reports and they gave me a huge map and showed me the different places that the reports came from, it gave me the direction I needed to go in. Unfortunately, I couldn't pinpoint the initial contact point where the very first incident happened over a hundred years ago. I wasn't sure why, since everyone seemed to know the story... they just didn't know where it came from or where it happened.

I would have laughed at them for never asking those questions, except that made them look stupid. I did not want to piss off people that have made this their life's work. When I finally had the Map done, I used my Map spell again and it added all the greyed out areas that I hadn't explored yet. I assumed they were grey and would stay that way until I went there and confirmed the data.

Now that I had that done, I wrote out a copy of where I was going and why, had it disinfected and put into a magic sealed flat container. I thought that was a little excessive, until the messenger held a hand out towards the thing and it turned clear to show me the perfectly preserved note. I also gained the See-through Spell. I immediately wanted to try it myself.

“I'm sorry, you're not allowed to touch it.” The messenger said and left the room.

“Hey! You didn't have to touch it!” I said after him and Bonika laughed.

“He meant with your magic.” Bonika said. “In case Magic has a transferable component to the virus.”

“I suppose you haven't been able to prove or disprove that.” I said.

“No, especially with the multiple infected from the same source and they become different beasts. Magic must be involved in some capacity for it to determine what the person should turn into.” Bonika said. “That's only a hypothesis, since there isn't a way to quantify it. Even if we had two identical people, they would need to be exposed to the same number of viruses in the same environment, sterilized of course, and then allowed to become infected while we cast the diagnostic spells on them.”

“Which you would never do, because intentionally spreading it to new people is against the whole point of the facility.” I said and she nodded.

“Will you be staying to see if there is a response to your copied message to the other heroes?” Bonika asked me.

“By rights, I should have sent a message as soon as I got here if I wanted a response. It has to travel all the way to the capital of the Kingdom of Man, get to the heroes after several security checks, have them read it and discuss it, then they have to write a response and send it back.” I shook my head. “The thing is, I needed all the information you have graciously provided in order to compose the proper message to send.”

“Graciously?” Bonika asked and unbuttoned her top. “I've been milking you every time we're alone in this lab.”

“We're... not alone in this lab.” I said and looked over her shoulder at the two researchers. One was a grey bunny woman with ears so long that they were folded down the back of her head and were almost hidden in her hair. Her cute little puff tail poked out through her skirt. The other one was a spotted deer. She only had tiny little antlers on her forehead and dark brown skin with white spots scattered all over.

“Do you mind providing evidence of not becoming infected from direct fluid transfer?” One of them asked and the two of them moved off to the sides with their clipboards ready to write down everything we did.

I looked at Bonika, who had become completely naked when I looked away. “Are you sure you don't have storage? You're very quick with getting out of your clothes.”

Bonika laughed and tapped my bulged crotch through my pants. “It's a skill I developed. I just streamline my body and they slide right off when I hop.”

“That's a very specialized skill.” I said and stored my clothes.

Her hand wrapped around my erection and she pulled on it several times. “It's to let me escape predators when I'm about to be captured.” She whispered and gave me a kiss.

“Does it work?” I asked.

“Are you a predator?” She asked sexily and pushed me back to sit down on a chair.

“No.” I said as she climbed on top of me.

“That's... good.” Bonika moaned as she guided me inside. “Because it didn't let me escape you.”

I heard scratching paper as the two researchers watched from surprisingly close and took notes. I think I was getting to like having someone watch, which was really odd, since I was a pretty private person normally. I barely dated and even then, sex was always behind closed doors and well secured from prying eyes.

After spending all this time with the cats, the Freemartin, and Selene the wolf woman, who had no problems watching and learning, I assumed that having more than one person around was normal.

“Ah, screw it. Let's give them a good show.” I whispered to her and stood up. Bonika let out a startled sound and then she moaned continuously as I pumped into her and used her own weight to help me ram into her. Before I knew it, the two researchers were kneeling right underneath her and observing so closely that I could swear that they were fighting to not join in.

I finished making love to Bonika in front of the other two researchers and they stared at us, surprised that I could do so much in front of them.

“That was amazing.” The deer woman said. “I knew you were the right one to choose!”

I sighed and tried to tell the deer woman that I was leaving and she said that she didn't care. She would spend the rest of her life working to find the cure, in honor and devotion to me and to the Goddess. There was a flash of light and the deer woman felt a weight appear on her chest. She looked at it and it was a necklace with a medallion on it. It had an emblem that made her gasp when she realized what it was.

“A divine item!” The deer woman exclaimed. “The Goddess has deemed me worthy!”

“Congratulations.” Bonika said and pet the deer woman's hair. “I will have the appropriate garb brought to your room.”

“Th-thank you.” The deer woman said and hugged her, then looked at me. “Thank you.” She said and looked up at the ceiling as she hugged the medallion. “Thank you, Goddess!”

That surprising event brought an end to both the day and my long stay at the research facility. I would head out on my quest the next day and would try to find the elusive source of the infection, if it still existed and was intact. I was sure that the goddess wouldn't send me out looking for something that no longer existed.

Well, I was pretty sure.
