Devil Shadow Dragon Tower!
This name alone was enough to indicate what an unusual place it was: a valley of wickedness!
The whitebearded and beardless elders were both dumbfounded, their eyes going wide. They quickly went up to that massive chart and began to look at Xia Fei’s name over and over again.
“I don’t care how Xia Fei managed to get pulled back into the system, nor do I care how many points he got, but what the hell is the Devil Shadow Dragon Tower?!” Nobeard placed his arms around his head and shouted.
A marvel!
A miracle?!
Things were getting stranger and stranger. The Devil Shadow Dragon Tower that Xia Fei had gone to was a place not even the Collapsed Expanse of Founders’ supervisors had heard about! Was this not too absurd?!
…
A crescent moon shone over two azure pools of water, its blurry reflection visible on their surfaces.
As the two elders were about to go crazy, Xia Fei had arrived at a rather pretty place.
A dam made of white stone divided a lake into two. At the center of the lake was an ancient pagoda built in the style of the Wild Goose Pagoda.
The blue moon cast down a mysterious azure light, projecting the pagoda’s image onto the lake surface, and when this reflection was joined by the reflections of the trees along the white dam, they created a scene straight out of ancient poems.
Such a rare and beautiful sight would have had the Xia Fei of the past clapping his hands in praise, but at present, Xia Fei could not bring himself to be happy.
There was only one road. In other words, Xia Fei could only head toward that pagoda or else jump in the lake. It was as if the system had set everything up so that Xia Fei had no choice but to head toward that ancient and mysterious tower.
Frowning, Xia Fei decided to pollute the environment and threw his cigarette into the lake. He headed off toward the pagoda, occasionally glancing at the reflections on the two lakes.
What made Xia Fei uneasy was none other than the reflections!
The moonlight had made it so that the pagoda cast two reflections, one on the left and one on the right, divided by the dam.
However, these two were opposite reflections!
The right side was a normal reflection, exuding the freshness of spring and making one want to jump in the water and swim around, whereas on the left, it showed a distorted shadow!
The pagoda’s shadow was straight as a sword, but once it entered the water, it became terribly distorted! All that was not even considering the chill of the lake water!
This was a freezing sensation that reached deep into one’s bones! Xia Fei even felt like a vicious banshee would jump out of the lake and attack him at any moment!
When things were abnormal, evil was afoot!
Composure!
A true warrior had to coldly and calmly face down everything no matter the time. Xia Fei had ten thousand questions on his mind, and his senses were constantly telling him that this was no storybook landscape but rather a wicked land that would take his life! While Xia Fei managed to remain calm, that characteristic harmless smile of his had long vanished.
Beneath the pagoda, the dissonancegrew even more obvious. Xia Fei’s left side felt like it was in an icy hell, while the right side felt like it was in heaven.
Lighting a cigarette, Xia Fei looked at the wooden placard hanging above the entrance. Upon it were written the words ‘Devil Shadow Dragon’!
Xia Fei muttered these words, and the moment he spoke, the front door of Devil Shadow Dragon Tower opened.
The wooden doors parted to the sides. From the outside, the tower seemed to have a diameter of no more than fifty meters, but it seemed like there was a whole different world inside. It was a vast plain that stretched to the horizon.
“This isn’t an illusion. Some sort of spatial technique?” Xia Fei said in surprise. Spatial abilities would require an absurd amount of energy to create a vast plain. The person who had made this tower was not simple!
“Correct. The Devil Shadow Dragon Terror is made from spatial energy. You have good eyes, meaning that you’re a good match for this tower. I’ve been waiting far too long for you. I almost couldn’t take it anymore.” An ethereal voice suddenly spoke.
“Waiting for me?” Xia Fei smiled. “Do you know me?”
“No, but I do now. Every person who can reach this place is an extraordinary existence, and I’ve been waiting for someone like you.”
“What about me?” Xia Fei asked.
“You’re very fiendish,” the voice replied after some thought.
Xia Fei was amused. “Fiendish? Why is that?”
“Your strength was not the reason you obtained the chance to enter Devil Shadow Dragon Tower. From what I know, solely within the Collapsed Expanse of Founders, there are around fifty people with greater combat power. But no matter how strong they are, they will have no opportunity to come here, for they walk the same road as others while you do not.
“There are 890,000 people in the system, at different ranks and knowing different things. To tell the truth, they’re a pretty decent lot. Alas, we’re not looking for warriors that follows all the rules but rather the freaks like you,” the voice very explained earnestly.
“It’s not like I have three heads or six arms. I’m no freak,” Xia Fei shrugged and refuted.
“You say you’re not a freak, but I happen to know exactly what went through your mind just moments prior.”
“What was I thinking?”

“When you heard me use the word ‘we’, you determined at once that I wasn’t alone, so you used your Ocular Cognition to scan the lakebed, shore, and this entire space. When you discovered that there’s no place to go except Devil Shadow Dragon Tower, you intentionally threw your cigarette into the water. This was to determine what direction the water and at what speed. Alas, this water is stagnant.
“Normally, you would enter the tower and try to break through it, but I happen to know that as you were making your way here, you were actually estimating the length and quality of the dam, calculating how much energy it would take to destroy it! Right now, that elemental weapon of yours is at the bottom of the dam. This is the back-up plan you left for yourself!
“Annoying! So annoying! It’s a perfectly fine dam that separates the energies of dark and light, and you’re here for less than three minutes and are already thinking about how to destroy the place! Would a normal person think like that? Who would do what you planned to do?! Tell me: What would you call such a behavior if not fiendish?!”
The speaker grew more and more agitated. What appeared to be a lake actually comprised waters of two entirely different attributes, and this dam existed to divide these two types of energy. The moment Xia Fei arrived, he had readied himself for the possibility that he would not get away unscathed. If something really did happen, Xia Fei would definitely topple this dam and drag his enemies into the grave with him!
As such, Xia Fei had casually thrown that cigarette butt into the water not because he did not care for the environment but because he was investigating a very small detail. In that subtle act of his, Xia Fei had actually made numerous preparations.
This was how Xia Fei had always behaved, frequently leaving himself a back-up plan. In his mind, there was nothing wrong with it. Of course, to outsiders, his actions were utterly insane!
Smiling, Xia Fei said lightly, “If Peacock Blue hadn’t hidden itself in the dam, you wouldn’t have come out. Thus, there’s nothing wrong with my actions.”
The speaker was rendered speechless for some time. Xia Fei had compelled this voice to speak! The speaker had been worried that Xia Fei would destroy the dam in a fit of madness, causing this entire space to collapse.
“I don’t want to argue with you about this,” the voice grumbled. “In any case, you’ve reached a crucial point. Devil Shadow Dragon Tower will be the great opportunity and greatest challenge you’ll ever face! Devil Shadow Dragon Tower was initially erected here so that people could appreciate this gorgeous sight before taking on the challenge, witnessing this world being divided into light and dark.
“You’ve finished appreciating the view, and you’ve experienced the powers of light and dark, so prepare to take on this fiercest of challenges!”
…
At the mouth of a volcano, lava surged in great waves, geysers of heat shooting into the sky.
Two warriors wiped their sweat from their foreheads as they searched the black rocks, but it seemed like they could not find what they were looking for.
“Weird. Where’s the body? I clearly killed him, and his body rolled down the summit. It should be around here.”
“Could the corpse have been burned up by the lava?”
The two were looking at each other in confusion when, suddenly, two white and fair hands emerged from a nearby ball of darkness. They moved quickly, seizing the necks of the warriors.
*Whoosh!*
The veins on the arms bulged, indicating that their owner was exerting incredible strength to smash their heads together!
*Bang!*
Brains splattered, the skulls cracking open like melons!
“Dared to ambush me? This is what happens! Pah!”
Oro cursed, his face pale as he emerged from the darkness. The Law of Darkness was his specialty, and he knew all about ambushing people from the darkness.
Unfortunately, Oro was now a human, not a tall and formidable lion. Such a crude and barbaric voice contrasted very heavily with his scholarly demeanor and could easily stir up feelings of revulsion.
Oro was about to leave after killing these two when his body suddenly turned red-hot as if it had been set on fire.
*Boom!*
A Soul Mark had suddenly appeared inside Oro, and his seventh brain region exploded with a pounding headache!
A Soul Mark had appeared! It was a signal that dark energy had been unlocked!
In other words, Oro was now a Founder!
Oro was so excited that he became speechless. Unlike others, he did not have a seventh brain region that was 100% open. Many people had said before that Oro, no matter how talented he might be, would forever remain at peak Law God. The flaws in his seventh brain region had limited his potential.
However, today, in the mysterious Collapsed Expanse of Founders, Oro had completed an inconceivable reversal!
“Founder?! I’m a Founder now, too! Haha! HAHAHAHA!” Throwing open his arms, Oro raised his head and laughed!
…
The Collapsed Expanse of Founders was brimming with death, but it also brimming with opportunity!
Oro’s improvement stood out a lot, but he was not the only one. Xia Guanghai and Ulan were all getting decent grades, and even that little Lionheart priest, Risode, had also improved a little. However, because their ranks were already high or because their potential was too low, their improvement was not as dazzling as Oro’s.
Reality had proven that all of the people at Xia Fei’s side were built differently! Even in the higher-level Alpha Universe, they were still fierce!
They were lucky, unlike Xia Fei, who had been inexplicably sent to the Devil Shadow Dragon Tower to face an unknown fate. However, Xia Fei was already numb to it, having had the propensity to run into new trouble every so often.
In some place, there was a dark and dank water prison.
An old man had been locked up in this water dungeon. A giant claw, like that of an evil dragon, had kept him pinned on a giant and cold rock.
Around him was black and stagnant water; countless white and wicked eyes coldly stared at him from it. What sort of crime had this old man committed, which resulted in him being locked up in such a hellish place?
If one got closer, one would find that this old man seemed to be rather… familiar? It seemed like he was… Fuchen!
