Chapter 23: Ch. 23

(3rd PoV)

"W-we can't stop it!" One of the S-rank hunters who came to stop the raging dragon yelled in fear.

They've lost 5 S-rank hunters, 7 A-rank, and 17 B-rank hunters from the monstrous dragon.

"I-is this is the end?!" A hunter trembled in fear while his grip on his staff loses strength making his staff fall to the ground.

*Clak* *Clak* x25

Soon others followed and they lost hope of defeating this monster when suddenly, they heard a sonic sound coming their way.

*BOOOMMM!!!*

The Dragon, that was causing fear and destruction everywhere was flung by the sonic sound.

*Boom!*

The Dragon flew back while damaging some buildings before touching the ground.

"W-who was it?!" A hunter woke up from shock and stuttered while staring at the figure surrounded by thick smoke.

Soon the smoke dispersed and reveals Kenji in his full glory while steam was coming out of his fist.

"T-that's Akano Kenji from Japan!" One of the hunters immediately recognized him and shouted his identity.

"Kenji? The strongest hunter of Asia?" A hunter also recognized him.

Superman, also known as Akano Kenji was Asia's Strongest Hunter not because he defeated Liu Zhigang, the former Strongest Hunter of Asia, but because the title was given to him due to being the first Hunter to clear an A-Rank dungeon alone and having the most A-rank dungeons cleared during his career as a hunter.

The name, Superman was given to him due to doing something that other Hunters didn't and that is fighting criminals and saving people.

He was admired by kids, teens, adults, and the elderly, many people wanted to be like him, and he was an inspiration to everyone.

"Everyone, retreat!" Kenji shouted at them, he knew that they can't defeat the Dragon. He felt it when he punched, it was as if he just punched wood without Superman's powers.

The hunters listened to him obediently, this is not the time to be angry at being ordered at.

Once he saw that they were retreating, Kenji" turns around just in time to see the Dragon standing up with red menacing eyes.

"Ready for more?" Kenji grins while cracking his knuckles which caused loud sounds.

"Grrrrr... Raaahhh!" The Dragon growled in anger and released a sea of red flames with his mouth.

Kenji smirks at this and inhales huge amounts of oxygen till his lungs are filled up.

"Fooooooooooo" Using his freeze breath, the sea of flames was immediately extinguished while the floor was frozen.

The Dragon was also hit by the freeze breath and felt a chill on his body, but it immediately melted due to his high-temperature body!

"Roooaarrr!!!" The dragon roared in anger, seeing that the filthy human managed to repel his flames.

"C'mon, show me what you've got." Kenji grins while posing in a boxing stance.

The Dragon seemed to understand the human's challenge and directly flew high in the skies.

"Huh, so you want an aerial battle. I'm fine with that." Kenji said then levitated from the ground.

Slowly, Kenji rose in the air until he reached 20,000 feet up in the air.

Kenji could feel the airwaves hitting the both of them, while they stared at each other as if measuring their strengths.

Kenji decided to attack first by rushing at sonic speeds and punching the Dragon in its face.

The Dragon failed to dodge in time making Kenji's fist hit him on his face, throwing him a few meters away.

*Boom!!*

Due to how strong Kenji's punch is, it even produced explosive sounds.

"Raaahhh!!!" The Dragon used its special skill, [Dragon's fear], Dragon's Fear allows its user to release a mana-infused shout from their soul, driving anyone weaker than them into a state of intense despair and panic.

But to Kenji who was unaffected, it's just like a baby's cry. Making the Dragon annoyed.

"<I commend you for your will and strength, Human. What is your name?>" The Dragon, for the first time, spoke in monster language.

"<Thank you for the compliment, and shouldn't you introduce yourself first?>" Kenji replied in the same monster language, at first he tried to learn the language by speaking with monsters whenever he do raids but it seems to be impossible and whenever he want to talk to a monster, the monster language just came naturally to him.

"<You're really a weird human, you could also speak our language that no human shall possess. Fine, I'll introduce myself first, hear me out, human.>" The Dragon started to puff up his chest and continued, "<My name is KAMISH!>".

"<I see, then my name is Akano Kenji.>" It was Kenji's turn to introduce himself and so he did.

"<I see, your name is Akano Kenji, very well, I shall remember this name deep in my soul and shall remember it even if I die.>" Kamish proudly yelled before continuing, "<Then let us continue our battle!>".

Kamish suddenly flapped his wings which caused huge amounts of airwaves and appeared in front of Kenji's vision.

With Kamish's mouth open, ready to bite Kenji to death. Kenji wasn't even scared a bit, he just let Kamish close his mouth once he is inside.

However, suddenly, Kamish seemed to notice that he can't close his mouth.

That was when he noticed that, Kenji who was inside was using both of his hands to hold his palate while his feet are on his tongue.

Kamish scoffed at this attempt and decided to release flames from his mouth.

Kenji noticed that Kamish's tongue was getting redder and hotter, it was then he noticed that Kamish was actually releasing flames!

But Kenji didn't care, so he let the flames engulf him inside Kamish's mouth.

At first, Kamish thought that he won by turning Kenji into a crisp when suddenly he heard him say.

"That's kinda hot." Kenji chuckled then stomped his feet strong enough to break Kamish's jaw.

Kamish doesn't have the time to be shocked when he suddenly felt pain in his jaw.

Kenji then flew outside of his mouth and stared at Kamish, roaring in pain.

"It hurts, isn't it?" Kenji told him, he also felt that pain, it was that time during the war that he tripped in the middle of war while his jaw was crushed because his jaw fell on a rock.

His tongue and teeth bled furiously that day.

"Sigh, good old days." Kenji sighed while reminiscing his past, forgetting the dragon who was glaring daggers at him.
