“You are too far away… really not fun!” “You are just too weak… There is hardly thrilling!” Chen Sheng hissed, shaking his head as he looked proud of himself.
Still, unable to do anything, Ge Yin could only seethe in anger.
He could hardly summon any resolve to fight before such an adversary.
The sore and pain felt by him extinguished whatever will he had as he sighed dejectedly and surrendered the game.
At the same time at the 18th arena, another player from the Eastern Academy of Green Shirts, Zhang Tianlun, has just been defeated, effectively ending his run in the five academies’ tournament.
“Liang Feixue of the Honorable Alliance of Seven! He’s too terrible!”
Standing at the bottom of the arena, Zhang Tianlun reflected on what had happened four to five minutes ago on the arena and looked up at the young man in flowing robes of white that contrasted his long black hair, feeling a sudden chill that made him shuddered.
Zhang Tianlun had earlier taken the Power Catalyst Elixir that Li Lan gave him and his powers had increased more than twofold. The strength he wielded had reached the peak of One-apertured Martial Disciples that even Martial Disciples of the Second Aperture would have had a hard time against him. Still, even with his enhanced might, he was nothing before the strength of the second most powerful person of the Honorable Alliance of Seven.
In just one move!
Zhang Tianlun had been raining barrages of attacks in the first four minutes.
But when Liang Feixue had returned only one blow when the first second after the first four minutes ticked, Zhang Tianlun was so effortlessly blown off the stage by the sheer force of his powers.
The gap between their strengths was simply incalculable.
……
At the 6th arena.
Ding Hao was standing face-to-face against his opponent in his second round.
His opponent was Dong Yi, the third seed of the tournament from the Southern Academy of Purple Shirts.
Dong Yi was a young man with stern features, sharp eyes, and short hair. His broad shoulders and long and sinewy arms made him look like a menacing monolith that would frighten anyone who would dare cross his path.
Thronging audiences, about five or six hundreds of disciples from the Eastern and Southern academies, crowded around the ring.
Dong Yi’s affable and friendly character made him a wide-respected person among disciples of the Southern Academy of Purple Shirts whose popularity paled only to Lyu Kuang, the best pugilist of the Academy. On the other hand, Ding Hao too was a well-acclaimed disciple from the Eastern Academy. Then again, the incidents that have been caused by Nangong Zheng and the others and Ding Hao’s defeat of Nangong Zheng and ten other boys have increased the tension between the disciples of both the Eastern and Southern Academies.
Therefore, this battle had taken everyone from both academies by storm.
“Defeat Ding Hao, Senior Brother Dong! Take him down and restore respect to our Southern Academy!” The disciples of the Southern Academy cheered and yelled, hoping that Dong Yi would emerge victorious against Ding Hao and redeem the name of their school.
“Spare no quarter, Senior Brother Ding! Put a silence to the brazen clamors of these insolent fools of the Southern Academy!” The disciples of the Eastern Academy shouted too, stubborn and impatient themselves.
The atmosphere below the ring was already past the boiling point even when the fight had yet to begun.
It seemed as if the disciples would have started a melee if there were no judges or umpires present.
At the same time, on the stage.
“It was said that you are known as the Greatest Swordsmen of the Eastern Academy of Green Shirts. Not only you had defeated Nangong Zheng with only one single stroke, but you have also boasted of conquering the entire Southern Academy by yourself?” Dong Yi’s sharp eyes stared keenly at his opponent as his ambition and hunger flared within them.
Ding Hao only smiled and said, “Hearsay? From whom did you hear of such things?”
“Hahaha, there’s no need for you to know. Today, you will pay the costly price for your arrogance. The Southern Academy will suffer no insult or humiliation!” With his sword carried over his back, Dong Yi clenched his fists tightly and approached his adversary. With each step he took, he looked more and more intimidating and imperious.
“Those who offend people would surely suffer being humbled by others.”
Similar to his opponent, Ding Hao made no move to draw his sword. He stood tall and erect, unmoving and steady in his posture like an indomitable mountain.
Boom!
All of a sudden, Dong Yi bolted forward and threw forth a punch. The gigantic surge of energy threw forth by his punch caused the winds to blow and lash turbulently, emitting sounds that resembled the roars and howls of monstrous predators!
What a forceful and direct blow!
What intense power!

At the bottom of the ring, everyone from the Southern Academy cried and applauded with delight.
However, Ding Hao, still wearing a calm demeanor, made no indication of avoiding the blow. He threw himself towards his opponent. He raised his palm from waist level and flicked his wrist before smacking forward, also sending a powerful jet of airflow towards his adversary!
Their blows met squarely in the flash of a moment.
Boom!
There was a violent bang that sent forth a ripple of shockwave that left everyone’s ears ringing from the force.
A great many even turned pale and weak, feeling nauseous that they nearly blacked out.
Fierce winds whipped mercilessly around them, and their sights were so blurred that they could hardly see properly!
The group of students from the Southern Academy had expected to see Ding Hao being thrown backward by Dong Yi’s stroke. Yet, their wish was not realized. Instead, expressions of joy appeared on the faces of those from the Eastern Academy as they could hardly resist feeling relieved and elated.
That was because the tide had seemed to turn to their favor in the dueling ring.
Dong Yi could feel goose bumps all over him and his hair standing. Despite his girth, he staggered backward for a few steps.
Whereas Ding Hao had only been mildly shook and had not been thrown off-balance.
The distinct differences between the two combatants’ powers were instantly apparent. Everyone could easily tell the stronger one between the two.
Never did anyone expect that Dong Yi of the Southern Academy, who was known for his overwhelmingly brutish physical strength and his imposing presence, would be eclipsed in a contest of raw power!
This was hardly an outcome that the disciples of the Southern Academy, Dong Yi himself included, had ever foreseen.
“Again!”
Dong Yi roared defiantly. He flailed his arms which were numbed by the soreness and channeled his powers again as his arms bulged like a huge tree trunk, filled with power and energy. He began to turn feral like a wild beast and a sinister black aura shrouded over him. He charged at his quarry and threw forth another punch with the speed and intensity of a lightning bolt.
Thunderous groans rumbled through the air.
“So be it!”
Ding Hao shouted in response. There was a sudden roar of a thunderclap, and he struck forth with his palm in retaliation.
Boom!
Boom!!!
In the blink of an eye, a series of deafening bangs caused by the clashing blows rolled through the air from within the ring.
The explosive force caused by the colliding blows sent forth a cacophonic bedlam of frenzied booms so loud that many of the audiences began to grow weak because of the stress. A few of the disciples who wielded lesser powers had to keep themselves further away from the arena with their hands clasped over their ears.
Everyone below could hardly see the two warriors through the blur of the flaying gale. Until thus far, they had yet to draw their weapons, fighting only bare-fisted.
Each of the clashes of their strokes and blows had met head-on, like a hammer upon nail and a mallet upon anvil, resulting in vast and forceful impacts. Yet none of them were willing to back down, still delirious with a hysterical will to trounce their foe and win this fight.
“What terrible powers! Are they actually vicious monsters in disguise as humans?”
“How can humans possess such terrible power?”
“What a brutal way of fighting!”
“God… How on earth did these two develop such brutish strength?”
Everyone was shocked and perplexed by the raw savagery and brutality of their fight, beholding the duel with apparent disbelief in their eyes.
They had noticed the ground was smashed when a punch by Dong Yi had missed and struck the ground, and then they saw a blow from Ding Hao’s palm shattered some green tiles on the ground, stunning everyone that they could hardly breathe.
It was evident that the two were still fighting each other with only their physical strength. They have yet to use any Qi or enhancements.
This was the terrifying part of their fight.
Standing around the ring were Li Lan, Ge Yin, the members of the Honorable Alliance of Seven of the Central Academy, Lyu Kuang of the Southern Academy, Lin Xin and Ren Xiaoyao of the Northern Academy, and the rest of the warriors of the Western Academy. They had all ended their fight and had assembled here to witness the blood-curling fight that had gone on for an hour.
