Exploring The World of Mana and Combat

As I scanned my surroundings, my gaze settled upon a maid who approached me.

"Young Master, if you would follow me," the maid requested, her voice polite. I gave a nod of my head and followed as she started down the hall towards my Dad's office.

At Dads office The maid raised her fist and knocked on the door to my father's office, announcing, "Master Gray, Young Master James is here."

"Send him in," my father's voice boomed from the other side of the door.

The maid opened the door, giving me a small bow as I entered the room.

"Thank you," I said softly, offering a small smile as I walked into the room and the maid closed the door behind me with a small smile.

"Come in, William," my father greeted me from where he sat behind his desk.

I walked towards the sofa opposite my father's desk, noticing with relief that there were fewer papers on the desk than there had been earlier. I took a seat, facing my dad.

"Hey Dad, what's up? Why did you call for me?" I asked, a hint of curiosity in my voice.

"I heard from Old man Ried that you taught a technique to the knights," my father began, a hint of suspicion in his tone. "I'm curious where you learned it from. Our family certainly doesn't have such a technique."

The truth was, I had acted impulsively when teaching the technique to the knights, not thinking about the consequences. I didn't expect word to reach my father so soon, leaving me at a loss for what to say. How could I explain that it was simply from another world?

I couldn't imagine that conversation ending well.

So I decided to spin a tale for my father, telling him that I was exercising one day and felt that my muscles were stiff. I then tried stretching my muscles to relieve some stiffness, and that the movements I made had made me feel much better.

My dad whispered to himself, "Hmm... I knew my son was a genius."

I couldn't quite catch what my dad was saying, but I quickly stifled my curiosity and didn't push the matter.

My dad switched the subject to another matter and informed me that he had spoken to my brother and that he wouldn't cause any trouble. He then added that my brother was turning 8 tomorrow and that the awakening ceremony would be held to mark the occasion, telling me to be prepared.

My brother is turning 8 tomorrow?

I had no idea that his birthday was coming up so soon.

I told my dad that I was going to take my leave, and after a simple nod from him, I stood up and left the room. Meanwhile, my dad returned to his paperwork.

I couldn't help but wonder if I'll have to do as much paperwork as my dad when I grow up. The thought of it made me feel a little overwhelmed, to be honest.

I made my way to the library to do some research and look up books on the power system of this world.

I ventured to the library, eager to delve deeper into the mysteries of the power system in this world. As I arrived, I immediately set to work, carefully selecting a collection of books that promised to shed light on this fascinating topic.

I realized that it was finally time for me to learn more about the world that I had found myself in.

I carefully opened an ancient tome, its pages yellowed with age, and began to read about the elusive force known as mana.

"Interesting," I thought to myself as I read on, "Mana is made up of particles of energy that are present all around us. By absorbing these particles into our bodies, we can then circulate the mana through pathways in our bodies, eventually storing it in the heart. By doing so, we increase both the quality of life and the strength of our bodies. However, there is another path that people can choose, the mage path, where mana is circulated and collected on the wrist, forming a tattoo due to the thinner skin there."

The mark formed by the mana tattoo not only signifies the element that is compatible with the person's body, but also serves as a visual representation of the person's strength. The color of the tattoo provides a quick and easy way to gauge a person's level of power and potential.

Even for those who choose to become warriors, the mana tattoo remains a constant, serving as a symbol of their strength and proficiency in combat. For example, if a person is skilled with swords, their mark may take the form of a sword.

"This power system is truly intriguing," I thought to myself, "But for mages, the mana is not used to enhance their physical abilities. I wonder if an overabundance of mana could potentially cause harm to the body due to their body being weak.
