Chapter 171: The Guardian Deity

“You… Are you Mr. Luo Yunyang?” Excitement shone on her face as she spoke. She stared at Luo Yunyang as though she was a fan looking at her idol.

The woman had recognized him!

Luo Yunyang scanned Xue Yuhua’s face as he nodded. “Yes, I am!”

Although Li Yunhao had heard of Luo Yunyang, when he heard that this man was Luo Yunyang, a glint of ecstacy flickered across his eyes.

“I am from the Sangu Research Center. If you do anything to me, the Sangu Research Center will never forgive the Rising Dragon Army. The Rising Dragon Army won’t be able to handle this, so just hurry up and release me!”

Although Luo Yunyang had a considerable reputation, Li Yunhao assumed that he still belonged to the youngest generation of the Rising Dragon Army. Thus, if Luo Yunyang killed him right then and there, he wouldn’t be able to bear the wrath of the Sangu Research Center.

However, he hadn’t expected that Luo Yunyang would be a martial grandmaster.

Luo Yunyang didn’t bother treating Li Yunhao politely. With a simple gesture, his palm landed hard against his opponent’s body.

In under a second, Li Yunhao died a violent death.

As they watched Li Yunhao die with his eyes wide open, Xue Yuhua and Mr. Zuo looked even more afraid of Luo Yunyang.

Killing a Sangu Research Center employee was a big deal after all. Luo Yunyang decided that the best way to proceed now would be by silencing the witnesses.

“Luo Yunyang, I am Xue… Fat Xue’s older cousin. We are not… We do not work at the Sangu Research Center. Don’t worry, we won’t breathe a word to anyone about this!” Fear flooded Xue Yuhua’s heart as she stuttered.

Luo Yunyang had never expected to run into Fat Xue’s cousin there. He smiled faintly as he gazed at Fat Xue’s rather beautiful cousin.

“Are you really Fat Xue’s cousin?”

“Yes, I am.” Xue Yuhua was a team leader, so she naturally wasn’t an ordinary person either. She let out a huge sigh of relief when Luo Yunyang’s tone eased up.

Luo Yunyang turned his eyes to Master Balu, who was struggling to stand up.

“You… Are you a martial grandmaster?” There was fear in Master Balu’s eyes as he hissed, “If you are, then you should know that it would be unwise to offend the Great Snow Mountain. My teacher and the rest of my group will catch up with us soon. If you do anything to me, the Great Snow Mountain will never forgive you for hurting one of its disciples.”

Luo Yunyang stared at Master Balu, who was putting on a strong front despite the fact that he was shivering, and chuckled indifferently. “Oh, really? I have always hated being threatened. You threatened me, so I shall kill you first and then wait for your teacher to come and avenge you!”

Master Balu felt his scalp go numb. In the past, whenever he’d come across people who were stronger than him, all he’d had to do was say the Great Snow Mountain’s name and everything would get solved easily.

However, the Great Snow Mountain’s name was of no use to him now.

Could Luo Yunyang not know the mighty name of the Great Snow Mountain because he had just advanced to a martial grandmaster? Or was it because…

“The Great Snow Mountain is a big deal, Mr. Luo. It is rumored that the Great Snow Mountain Guardian Deity has already reached semi-god boundaries. Offending them wouldn’t be worth the trouble,” Xue Yuhua advised Luo Yunyang after hesitating for a bit.

Although Luo Yunyang hadn’t used his attribute regulator, his basic Mind Attribute already exceeded that of an ordinary person.

Based on Xue Yuhua’s expression, Luo Yunyang was able to sense that the woman was really trying to help him.

“The Sangu Research Center and the Great Snow Mountain are jackals living in the same lair. Do you think that the Great Snow Mountain would not treat me as an enemy if I let him go?”

Suddenly, Luo Yunyang brandished his hands and a huge blazing scarlet elephant charged towards Master Balu.

The blazing elephant had been created by Luo Yunyang’s fire-based source core in conjunction with the Dragon Elephant Fists Move. Although the Dragon Elephant Fists Move had quite a lot of shortcomings, it was still a decent move when it came to power consumption.

“If you can withstand this strike, then I’ll let you live. If you can’t, then you’ll only have yourself to blame.”

These were the last words Master Balu heard. He didn’t have the time to justify himself, as he needed to focus on dealing with the huge elephant charging frantically at him.

“Open!” Master Balu shouted loudly. Although he was already injured, this was a life-and-death situation, so he still had to give it his all.

His entire body turned golden-yellow and his hands quickly formed a simple seal. The moment this seal was formed, a huge figure appeared behind Master Balu.

Boom!

When Master Balu brandished his arms stiffly in the direction of the huge blazing elephant, the huge figure behind him did the same. Two sets of palms converged in the air and blasted source power at the huge elephant.

The elephant blustered as it rushed over, crushing Master Balu’s body against the ground. A long time passed, yet the man didn’t get up again.

“Why have you all come here?” Luo Yunyang turned back to Xue Yuhua.

“We received a tip-off from a herb gatherer that the mist around this land had started to converge and form a mysterious lotus. We believed that something big might be born, so we ran over to take a look,” Mr. Zuo replied before Luo Yunyang could speak.

Luo Yunyang glared at Mr. Zuo icily. He felt the urge to paralyze the man, yet Mr. Zuo, who didn’t care much about manners, was beaming at Luo Yunyang as though he was a god.

“Our reasoning was similar to Mr. Zuo’s.” Although Xue Yuhua felt more at ease now, she still replied carefully.

If unusual organisms emerged, then strange phenomena would occur.

Luo Yunyang thought about this as he gazed at the lotus-shaped cloud floating in the air above the valley.

“Since you have all suffered extreme hardships to get here, how about you enter with me and take a look?”

Xue Yuhua and Mr. Zuo’s faces filled with dread. If they went in, they didn’t know whether they would emerge from the cave alive.

Although Xue Yuhua was calmer now, if Luo Yunyang killed them off, no one would ever know.

As they stepped into the valley, Luo Yunyang realized that the area was already devoid of any life. Even the rocks were starting to slowly turn bright red.

Scarlet, maroon, cinnabar, crimson…

The color of the rocks kept changing as the temperature kept rising. Even Xue Yuhua and the other martialists found the heat slightly unbearable.

“Fire! Fire! Fire!” a big, bulky man howled frantically. His boots, which were made from an unknown material, had suddenly combusted. In an instant, the fiercely burning blaze was already roasting his entire leg.

The man was a subordinate of Mr. Zuo’s who worked for the Tyrannical Age Financial Group. Just as Mr. Zuo resigned himself to the death of his subordinate, Luo Yunyang waved his hands and a wave of frigid, cold power suppressed the blaze.

“Thank you, Mr. Luo!” Mr. Zuo saluted Luo Yunyang respectfully.

Luo Yunyang didn’t reply. His eyes had suddenly landed on the fiery cavern.

A scarlet lion was lying still outside the cavern’s entrance. Its body was huge and, although it was lying down, it was still about three-stories tall!
