“Select your main class...?” I repeated and I glanced at the people but the screen blocked my view. The screen was somewhat connected to my eyes and our gap was centimeters apart. I reached out my hand to touch it and the texture reminded me of my phone.

“GET THIS SHIT OFF ME!!”

Kevin began to rampage on his own. There was no other way but to distance away from him. Regardless of moving away, the ground made me yelp after falling off the fountain. The ground was a brick and had these curvy lines scattered around me. The design was appealing and neat.

“Steve what the hell is this!?” Kevin glanced at me, referring to the screen.

“Dunno.”

“Tch!”

Staring at the screen looked familiar. My right hand moved on its own, and the texture of the screen felt smooth like my phone. The thought of touching it, made me read the screen again.

I glanced at Kevin and said, “Kevin, I know what to do.”

“What?” Kevin said in a stiff tone.

“We need to follow what the screens say.”

“Why's that?”

“Maybe the screen will come off.”

“Are you sure?”

“Maybe...”

Kevin let out a sigh and asked, “So, what are going to do?”

“Just touch the screen to pick a class.”

“That's it?"

“Yep.”

Kevin smacked his palm on his face and muttered, “Why didn't I think of that in the first place.”

“Because you have an anger issue."

“Shut up.”

Since there were four roles in front of us... I'm not sure what these roles mean? My right hand pulled out a finger, pointing at the screen, and began to eenie, meenie, miney, mo. A ding sound came after picking a role.

[Steve had selected: Slayer The Fearsome Warrior]

“Okay, that sounds cool but, what's a slayer?” I tilted my head to the side and an arrow emerged from the screen, guiding me toward the X mark.

[Tap the exit button to see another information]

I tapped the exit button and another screen popped out.

[Steve's Info]

Gender: Male

Birthday: November 23, 2003

“How the hell did the screen know my age and birthday?”

Tapped the exit again and another one came.

“Huh?”

Pressed exit once more and the screen didn't show up anymore. Guess that was the last one, huh? I noticed Kevin finished reading his stats too, but I didn't take a glimpse at his role.

“Alright, you two, what's your name?”

Did someone ask our names? Both of us looked at the person who asked and this person was wearing a knight costume. A full set of silver armor.

Neither of us talked and Kevin took a headstart by running away.

“Hey! Stop right there!” the knight chased Kevin while I stayed on my spot.

“What the hell is he thinking?”

I didn't move a single muscle because everyone will get suspicious if I did the same. However, rather than being suspicious. Others whispered I'm a pervert because I'm only wearing a boxer. I covered my visible crotch on my drenched boxer.

“I should've worn my underwear even on Sundays... Shit...”

Several minutes later, there were two knights this time, and both of them were holding Kevin's arms. While I was still in the same spot.

The other knight grabbed my arms as we began to walk.

“Where are we going?” I asked.

The knight didn't respond and our travel continued. While we were at it, I sometimes wonder why the houses looked damp, old, and dark. Well, not entirely, because the rest felt welcoming.

Curiosity got me thinking, was this a festival? Why? Because of the small pennants. They even had restaurants, bars, and shops, yet all of them were the old style. Seeing the design made me think that this festival took place in the medieval age. I mean, these people in this... Town? City? Anyway, these people were wearing tunics and dresses. Everyone was staring at us and it gave me a chill.

Several steps later, we were now walking on the stone bridge. Toward the huge castle at the end of the bridge and white flags with a star in the center waved on top of the turret.

Kevin seemed to be having a hard time with his companion. Because Kevin had been wriggling his arms to escape. But the knight's grip was too strong that it didn't shake the knight.

Meanwhile, four of us made it to the entrance of the castle. The castle felt welcoming but the sharp gate wasn't, and it made me sweat.

Later on, we went inside the castle, and several people were gazing at us. Their outfits were old-fashioned with gold chain-like accessories attached to their clothes.

At the inner castle, our steps echoed in the empty hallway. While the knights guided us to a withered door and proceeded to head inside. Everything was dark. Luckily the knights brought a lantern with them and continued to walk on the deep spiral stairs.

After reaching the lowest floor, the knights pushed us inside the cell, locking the bars.

“Hey! What's the meaning of this!” shouted Kevin.

“Messing with the royal property will take both of you 2 years inside this cell.” explained the knight and gave the key to the other knight. “Keep an eye on those two. Got it?”

The knight nodded.

“Geez, try talking will you? You've been acting weird since you showed up,” the knight commented and left the cell.

We weren't the only one who was inside this cell. There were numerous people like us, but they looked creepy and ugly. While making a weird sound in their mouths.

“Is this part of the festival?” I thought, trembling on the intense feeling.

“FUCK!!” Kevin crashed his fist on the brick wall. “This wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for those screens!”

“Yeah. But right now, we need to calm down.” I tried consoling him, but he did the opposite, punching my luxurious face.

“Calm down? CALM DOWN!? IF IT WASN'T FOR YOUR SHITLESS NOISE, NONE OF THIS WOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED!”

“You're blaming me!? You're the one who broke my door!” I shouted in a nasal tone while rubbing my nose.

“FUCK YOU!!”

“FUCK YOU TOO!!”

Our first collided on our faces and this fight went over and over for 10 minutes till ending up on the ground. Panting hard under our breath.

“Why... Are... You even angry over a small noise anyway?” I gradually got up into a sitting position.

“That's none of your business...” Kevin got up too.

“How will I know if it's non-”

“My parents, okay!”

“What-”

“SHUT UP!”

The knight shouted at us who was in charge of watching the cell.

“I'm trying to sleep.” the knight closed his eyes and began to snore.

We both stayed silent before I whispered to Kevin, “What do you mean your parents?” I brought up the topic again.

Kevin ignored me and stared at the broken ceiling, filled with cobwebs. The atmosphere changed if both of us were silent, so I started to break this awkward silence.

“What class did you pick?” I was curious about his role since both of us finished reading our info at the same time.

“Druid... You?”

“Slayer, and do you know what slayer means?”

“No. What about you? Do you know what Druid means?”

“No.” both of us sighed before reaching out my hand to make a deal. “How about we help each other out so we can get out of here?”

“I don't need your help.”

“You're still angry aren't you?”

“What do you think?” Kevin arched his brow.

“Never mind...”

That was the end of our conversation. Kevin lay on the left bed to take a nap, relieving his stress. While I'm still thinking about the stats. I've been curious on the screen lately. How do I make them show up anyway?

I snapped my finger, gestured my hand like spiderman, or even slap myself... Why did I slap myself?

I sat on my dirty bed and let out a suffering sigh. “How are we supposed to get out of here?”

Suddenly, a cockroach was crawling onto my chest, and smacked it with my bare hand. The screen showed up in front of me. I bounced back in surprise, hitting my back on the brick wall behind me.

“Argh,” I grunted and peered at the screen.

There were six tags on the upper screen: Stats, Info, Equipment, Inventory, Runes, and Option.

I tugged at my earlobe and tapped the equipment first. The screen changed and the ding sound came.

“I don't know what these are but...” I tapped the Inventory tag and showed 20 slots filled with small boxes. There was a pixilated sword on the first box with a small E letter which made me lean close and pressed the sword.

[Would you like to equip: Great Sword?]

Yes or no?

I glanced at Kevin and the knight. I took a deep breath and tapped: Yes.

The back of my shirt began to glow, revealing a wide-long sheath behind. There, a giant sword appeared. What shocked me was that it wasn't heavy at all.

[Steve equipped: Great Sword.]

My eyes turned toward the bars and glanced at the giant sword.
