Luke approached the first crystal, and when he finally could see it glowing, he noticed the atmosphere changing… the monsters had noticed him, and without wasting time, he used Lightning and made it shatter.

Now that he thought about it, that mission was the perfect chance for Luke to be able to obtain enough coins to buy tier nine skills books… However, he soon forgot about that when he heard the charge of the Mud Dolls. Outrunning them as possible, it would be easy to just escape. Still, then he would miss those sweet, sweet experience points and gold coins, not to mention, his entire plan of destroying the three armies and the crystals wouldn't be possible. While he ran away, Luke ran enough to move and stop in the middle of a certain street between two large buildings. Now the enemies could only attack him from a single direction.
Regardless, it didn't take long for the monsters to appear, and as Luke had expected, they came clustering against each other without thinking. Since they were inorganic creatures, Luke wasn't expecting much from their intelligence, but still, that was disappointing. He used Weapon Augmentation and threw a grenade when they were twenty meters away from Luke. The chain explosion had been so powerful that it made the whole street tremble. The shockwave even dispersed the smoke for hundreds of meters while breaking the glasses of the windows nearby. The mud dolls became mud spheres... they were destroyed so much that even those had turned into charcoal. It wasn't that surprising, though. It would be weird if those things had a higher resistance agaisnt explosive attacks considering their nature.

Pieces of monsters were falling from the sky and inside the crater created by the numerous explosions. Luke was left speechless… it has been a while since he had used that combination, and his strength had increased tremendously. Still… that was just surprising. Hundreds of monsters were killed, and many others suffered massive damage, and that had been the power of a single grenade combined with Weapon Augmentation.
"Okay… I am scared of this skill," Rina said. "I knew from the beginning that its power would escalate with your strength, but this is…"
"This is Sparta!" Luke said and then threw two other grenades on the remaining monsters that were trying to get up.
Luke got carried away and went too far… he decimated around two thousand Mud Dolls instantly, and in the end, the others began to run away, but their numbers were too small. They didn't have enough numbers to cause a problem to the other species of monsters. Not only that, considering the power of the explosions, it wouldn't be weird if the other species of monsters had felt its power… with that, they certainly will raise their guard against another unknown party. Shalia's friend probably would do the same as well…
"I messed up…" Luke said while he watched the Mud Dolls scattering.
"No, since you dispersed the smoke, the level of mana decreased for a while in this area…" Shalia said. "It seems that the fool was stuck in the area between the three species' territories. How can someone be so stupid? No wonder him and his partner couldn't do a single thing and had to plea for help..."
"Before you go look for him, there is a lot of loot around and a skill book," Rina said.
"That is music to my ears," Luke said and then smiled.
He might have screwed things over a little bit. However, in the end, Luke still could overpower the enemies with his grenades and Weapon Augmentation… as long as he doesn't give them time to summon a boss or even the crystal owner.
Congratulations! The skill Water Cannon has leveled up.

When Luke touched the skill book, he received that message. While it was a bit disappointing that he didn't get a new skill, the extra status points weren't so bad. Still, that gave Luke an idea…
"Wait a minute… if this happens when I get the skill book of a skill I already have, can't I make my other skills level up by using the shop?" Luke asked.
"That is impossible. The options disappear from the shop when you have or when you get them," Rina explained.
"Oh, well… that is disappointing," Luke said and then shrugged.
It would be too good to be true if that were the case. Regardless, Luke got his loot and then hid it in one of the buildings. While most of those were useless to him, he found two rings that Increased his Focus by ten points each and a Magic Staff.
Electric Staff
It Grants you the power to use Spark Ball level four. When already possessing the skill, its cost will decrease by half.
Durability: 20/20
"Nice… finally a magic staff that can be useful in my hands," Luke said.
As expected, Luke had better chances of getting good items and rewards by killing many enemies at the same time. He would beat his unluckiness with massive numbers… In any case, he left the area and then headed toward the area Shalia mentioned.
The monsters had gotten a bit tense due to Luke's actions and the fact that the Mud Dolls were running away from the city. After losing so many of them and losing their crystal as well, they didn't have any chance of winning against the two other species. Despite that, the others didn't move from their location to hunt the remaining Mud Dolls.
