The ice goblins tried to hit Luke and Artiuno while they were approaching, but long-ranged attacks didn't seem like their forte… despite their level. The monsters soon changed their posture and equipped their hammer, but instead of using a sword, Luke fired Spark Balls since his body was trembling like a leaf…
"Crap! Flying at high speeds increases the power of the cold!" Luke said while firing Spark Balls.
The goblins blocked the attacks with their hammers, but they were still electrocuted since those were made of ice, and their weapons suffered some damage. Luke jumped from Artiuno's back, this time equipped with his sword, and he had the chance to reach the enemies since they were paralyzed.
Luke swung his sword downward and tried to split the head of a goblin, but the helmet got on the way, and while it broke, the sword stopped before it could crack even the skull of the creature. At least that made the monster dizzy and granted Luke a few extra seconds to attack, and this time, he made his sword pierce the enemy's head.

That was the highest amount Luke had gotten yet, at least from non-boss-type monsters, but he didn't have time to celebrate since the enemies had recovered from the effect of Spark Balls. The four enemies surrounded Luke and tried to smash him with their Hammers, but Luke spun around and then fired Sonic Blades toward the enemies' necks. They were caught wide open, but their arms got on the way, so the power of the skill had decreased considerably, and it only opened small cuts, but at least that stopped their attacks.
In the next moment, Luke used Stinger and then pierced the neck of one of the goblins and then quickly changed his Posture by using Flying Kick toward the face of another. He knocked down the monster thanks to that and then, before landing, made the monster eat his sword.

The remaining goblins swung their hammers toward Luke, but he turned around fast enough to block the strikes with his weapon. He still was sent flying to the distance, though. After flying for ten meters, Luke landed on his feet while only feeling slight pain in his hands. He had come a long way since the battle in Rome when an attack of that same level broke his hands almost instantly…
"For just ordinary grunts, this is taking too long," Luke said, and the enemies charged as if they had understood the taunt.
The enemies dashed together, and then Luke used Water tornado. The attack made them spin and collide against each other, and when that happened, Luke canceled the spell and attacked the enemies with Spark Balls. Soon after, he used Stinger to finish the paralyzed enemies.

"All right, this is way better… but I need to improve this performance," Luke said while he was watching the hammers melt.
The level of the enemies was pretty high, and Luke was outnumbered, but that wasn't an excuse since they were just regular monsters. Nevertheless, they didn't drop anything.
"We didn't even get to the nearest bridge and we already found a group of monsters…" Luke rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "In any case, this is a weird spot to create an ice castle."
"Maybe the owner created it by following their master's orders… Or they just tried to imitate something of their world to create a sense of familiarity," Rina said
Luke nodded. In any case, since the ocean was frozen, it was hard to imagine all that collapsing. In any case, even the frozen parts of the ocean were covered in snow, so it was hard to tell that everything was truly frozen. While it seemed faster to cross that area or fly, Luke decided to cross the bridge to avoid being spotted and other problems. That being said, he still ended up finding another group of goblins… considering their movements, it seemed like they were looking for something instead of just randomly checking the areas. Moreover, they were always walking in groups of five.
"Taking them out instantly with Water Tornado and Lightning is possible, but it won't be quiet," Luke thought. "I need to deal with them in a quick way and without making much noise…"
The enemies found Luke and dashed toward him, and then he had an idea. He used Water Tornado and made the enemies collide against each other again for several seconds. Once they got dizzy enough, Luke canceled the spell, and when they fell, he grabbed one of the hammers and then activated Weapon Augmentation level four… since he didn't know what the skill could do with a hammer at level five. The weapon was as cold as it could be, but Luke resisted while he was spinning around and smashing the monster's heads with the hammer. He confirmed that he could steal the weapons of monsters, but they probably will disappear once their owners are killed. That indeed happened after a while... it was a pity, but they would break in his hands anyway.
After crossing one of the bridges, Luke finally reached Long Island. There were no signs of skeletons or of any survivors for that matter. There weren't even any signs of vehicles since the snow was so tall… so, Luke was quite sure that things had been pretty bad for at least one week.
While making a mental note to learn Flamethrower that night, Luke proceeded to cross the city no matter what.. Apparently, the survivors were in an old library, so Luke still had quite the road ahead of him. However, he was forced to stop when he heard the sound of metal colliding in the distance…
