She didn't want to fail and let her species disappear from existence. As for Rina, she didn't think like Luke… he believed that no matter what happens, as long as you do your best, everything will be fine in one way or the other.
When night came, Luke clicked his tongue in annoyance, the pace he was receiving coins and experience from his skeletons decreased, so he couldn't see himself getting enough coins in time like that. He had to go out and hunt the frozen mammoths.
"I sure hope that something at least of the level of necromancy is in the tier 10 skill books list…" Luke thought while he was heading to hunt the mammoths.
Nothing had changed with them, so he assumed that the overlord didn't care about them, or perhaps they didn't belong to them… In any case, Luke had four hours to get the remaining ten thousand gold coins. They would need two hours to return to the castle, so he had to go there around 10 PM. That being said, he reached that goal in just one hour.
Necromancy Skill Book - 512.000 gold coins.
Fire Creation Skill Book - 512.000 gold coins
Water Creation Skill Book - 512.000 gold coins
Vampirism Skill Book - 512.000 gold coins
…
Those were some of the best skill books that Luke found on tier ten. He could create the elements, at least some of them with those skills, he also could learn Necromancy or absorb the enemies blood to heal himself. The first two were pretty novel, but only one of those could truly help on the mission of recovering the elves without killing them…
Congratulations! You have learned the skill Necromancy.
Luke confirmed that the level of the skeletons went up by one… as expected, they couldn't gain experience and gold coins, so their level was determined by the level of the skill. That was fine, hopefully, they will level two or three times while they face the elves and gain some time for Luke, Rina, and Shalia. The elves won't leave unscathed, but the chances of them dying facing an army of skellies on level forty was small. Even more so considering that Luke only had one hundred of them on his side currently.
"Let's get going," Luke said.
Rina also learned the skill Dispel and now she could work to free her brethren from the hands of the enemies. The only problem was the fact that the skill consumed one hundred mana points and that she needed to touch the target…
"You have the weapons to help you on the task of freeing your people, but the skeletons will help you as well," Luke said. "To make sure that you will have enough time and opportunities to do that, Shalia and I will face the overlord."
"I will finish it as soon as I can to help you," Rina said.
"While I appreciate the thought, it would be better if you don't hurry, or you might end up missing a few ones and getting stabbed in the back," Luke said. "Who knows what the enemy can and will do considering that he has the options to even brainwash elves?"
Rina nodded. She also didn't want to make such a blunder, but she also didn't want to risk the life of the friend who made all that operation possible… After approaching the castle, Luke left the area to attack the place from another direction, but before that, he gave the skeletons the order to attack. Rina quickly followed them from behind. It didn't take long for the other elves to turn to that side of the wall and then fight the invaders. Only at that moment Luke begin to wonder… Why would an overlord use the elves as guards? Wouldn't it be better to sacrifice a few ones and use them on the red crystal?
You received a new quest.
Quest: destroy the red crystal.
Reward: 100.000 gold coins.
While thinking about such things, Luke reached the other side of the castle and then jumped over the walls. The castle wasn't that big actually, for that reason, it only had a few rooms and towers. Naturally, Luke headed in a straight line toward the biggest in the center of the place and he didn't find a single creature to block his path.
"These overlords sure are careless, huh…" Luke frowned.
"He is waiting for you up ahead… he already noticed your presence but he didn't do anything," Shalia said.
That made things simple… That much confidence, Luke was itching to crush it, but he also raised his guard to prevent unpleasant surprises. Regardless… The main building of the castle was just a building in the shape of a square that didn't have any details aside from the walls and ceiling. However, it had a throne, a man sitting on it and a red crystal right in front of him. Much to his surprise, the man had pointy ears and green hair… it was an elf, but it was weird, all elves in Rina's world were blondies. Although he had a weird hair color, a handsome guy with nice features… that pissed off Luke so much. Aside from that, he was wearing some light pieces of armor that were on a silver-tone… and he had a bow of the same color.
You obtained a quest.

"Finally… an elf that actually has a bow," Luke said.

"You came…" the elf said.
"Yes, I came… Did you wait long?" Luke asked.
"You must be the human that our queen brought to help our world… that was completely unnecessary," The green-haired elf said. "You have come with good intentions, so I will give you one chance to leave now. This world won't be saved by outsiders."
"Sure, free the elves that you brainwashed and I will make myself scarce," Luke said.
