Just when Luke thought that things couldn't get any more complicated. A random woman appeared and said that kind of thing. He had discarded the thought that he was living a dream or an illusion since he was the closest partner of two incredible hot elves. Still, now that thought returned with full power.
Putting that aside, it was really shocking that kind of setting for Nambra. While she had the power and the skills to be a very troublesome overlord, she still had to worry about things like the continuity of her species. She was the only one who could do that task. Instead of protecting her world and her people, she had to look for someone to copulate and state her species from scratch. Even if that was someone who she didn't love. She was only looking for a strong and temporary partner to make sure that her descendants would become as strong as possible.
As if things weren't troublesome enough, her prediction turned right… not just one flying fortress appeared in the sky, two appeared, and they were quickly approaching the battlefield. They had to split their forces even further if they wanted to take down those two.
"Luke, I think she is telling the truth…" Rina whispered in his ears. "I can't sense any smell of blood on her, and even though she landed for a while, her minions didn't leave the fortress and attacked us."
"Then why didn't you help me?" Luke asked.
"While the monsters didn't attack us, we thought that the other elves might be flanked by her army and stayed behind to help, but that never happened," Rina said. "I am sorry."
They didn't have time to talk about that. Still, fortunately, the fortress that Richter's group was in suddenly began to collapse. Hopefully, it would mean that they defeated the overlord as well, but it was hard to say for sure. Regardless, his group soon left the collapsing fortress, and then they saw Luke's group and two other fortresses getting closer. To make matters worse, the new enemies stopped flying high in the air instead of approaching, and then their monsters began to fall around that battlefield. The elves were starting to get tired, so things were getting dangerous for them as well.
Two species of monsters began to fall from the fortresses. They were skeletons summoned by a necromancer, most likely, and a type of humanoid slime that had a weird body that seemed like it was the same material from the villains of one famous robot movie. The body seemed like it was made of steel, but the texture seemed quite liquid…
The overlords who could control such creatures certainly would be quite formidable foes, so Luke had no idea which enemy he should choose. He usually would go for the hardest one, but he didn't know that either. Fortunately, someone knew who was the strongest foe…
"The overlord of the skeletons is a bit like me. She can create large areas where you will get weaker, she also can summon several types of skeletons, and those usually do the job for her," Nambra said. "The other overlord, just like his minions, he is a pretty balanced individual, but he is weak against furtive attacks and against groups that can overpower him."
"You are well-informed…" Luke frowned.
"I considered the chance given the numbers of elves that I found on this world that I perhaps wouldn't be able to find a strong one," Nambra explained. "With that in mind, to keep my species alive, I also considered the chance of allying with them for the sake of reproduction."
Richter's group joined them just when Nambra finished saying that, and naturally, they all frowned. Fortunately, Rina put her hands on Danielle's ears since that wasn't something a child should hear.
"Luke, just what…" Amanda said.
"We will talk about this later," Luke said. "How many overlords aside from those two are out there?" Luke asked.
"Three others," Nambra replied.
The situation got a bit complicated, but that also was a golden chance for them to finally free Rina's world from the clutches of so many overlords. The elves' level also spiked quite a bit, and they were all above 210. If things keep going like that, they will obtain the power to protect that world themselves. Regardless, Luke created a water platform, and then Shalia froze it.
"Jump on it, we will send you guys to that fortress," Luke said and then noticed that aside from Richter, everyone in his group looked pretty tired. "This is the last push. Let's finish these assholes once and for all."
"Hell yeah!" Richter punched the air in excitement.
The others didn't look that excited, but they nodded nonetheless since they were imagining that they would take some weeks off after this crazy battle. They also didn't look excited because they knew the trip toward the fortress would be… quite rough, to say the least.
They felt like they were sitting on the tip of a rocket when Shalia used all her mana to send the platform flying toward the fortress, but at least they landed there.. Luke just didn't know if they were completely fine since Shalia could control the landing from so far away.
