Luke wasn't completely satisfied with that explanation, but in the end, he decided not to voice his concerns about it. Besides, it would be better to destroy the plans of the bastards who wanted to invade the Earth as soon as possible. Since Luke didn't use his coins the other night, he had quite a lot, so he was expecting to get even more and then buy something amazing in the shop. That certainly will increase his chances of succeeding in the next mission…
"We contacted the group that is hiding here, and they said that the Grivens appeared on the second day, so their numbers around the crystal are pretty high," Billy said. "Did you deal with a similar situation, Luke? How did you solve it?"
"Destroy the crystal as soon as possible to avoid giving the enemy the chances of increasing their or calling a boss," Luke said. "A boss monster of this type of enemy will be unstoppable… perhaps he can even destroy a plane of this size."
"You must be joking… we didn't receive any reports of large monsters appearing," Billy said.
"No, he is telling the truth…" Chloe said. "On the way to Miami, we found a large corpse of a massive wasp… it was ten meters tall."
"For real?" Billy asked. "If that is the case, then we will really need to destroy the crystal as soon as possible…"
"I can do that, my speed is the highest here, and I have even more mobility in my skills," Luke said.
Letting a boss appear would grant Luke tons of gold coins, and the chance of something nice dropping is also quite high, but he couldn't risk the operation for something like that… he couldn't accept such risks until he finds his parents.
According to the reports, the crystal was ten kilometers away on the west side of the airport. So, after a group took their place in protecting that area of the airport, they headed toward that direction.
The encounter rate increased quite a bit when they left the airport, and Billy's main skill turned out to be close to useless thanks to the Grivens natural armor. Still, when the enemies approached him, he managed to dodge the claws and Fangs of the monsters with ease while he punched them in the neck several times until they snapped.
Luke also had a hard time against them since their only vulnerable point that his daggers were effective was the neck. The reason for that was the fact that the enemies were more than two meters tall and Luke was just 1.80 meters tall.
Luke checked his status and nodded in satisfaction after increasing his speed yet again. Focus had become the highest parameter without the bonus. He decided to do that because he felt that he would need to use his skills even more often in the future to win the battles and to make them level up faster.
Although the monsters got on the way many times, the group reached their destination in just two hours. It was strangely convenient, but that group was pretty well balanced. Amanda and Celia could slow down the enemies with their ranged attacks, while Chloe and Billy were pretty fast with their kicks and punches… Luke didn't know that, but it seemed that he also practiced kickboxing. As for Luke, he was too high level and had more skills than most. Thanks to that, it would be nearly impossible for a lower-level monster to create problems for him.
Regardless, the crystal was five hundred meters ahead. Still, one hundred meters away from the group, they found a barricade of monsters. More than a few hundred of Grivens were guarding the crystal…

"So, it is really like that, huh…" Billy said while he looked around. "There are many obstacles in this area. We might be able to escape and fight them a few groups at a time. However, I am afraid that in the end, their sheer numbers will still overwhelm us."
"Why don't you employ some tactics that you learned over the years as a soldier?" Chloe asked.
Billy rubbed his chin thoughtfully while looking around again… it might be dangerous. Still, they could use the remaining fuel on the destroyed cars around and make them explode while they run. That should buy them some extra time… However, they will need more than that.
"Help me with the preparations," Billy said.
Luke didn't feel like wasting time relying on traps and tricks, but after he began to visualize what Billy was planning, he realized that it might help them. After messing with the fuel and the vehicles, Billy asked the others to look for flammable objects in the area. Clothes, plastic bottles, plastic bags, tires… they drenched those in gasoline and spread them through the area alongside the fuel on the streets. They were about to do something really dangerous, but it was their best option. In the end, they prepared everything in just one hour. So, the only thing that was left to do was to ask the fastest of the group to destroy the crystal and lure the monsters to the trap… it seemed simple in theory.
