"Shit, when is this going to end?" Billy asked while clenching his teeth.
One hour had passed since they landed on the colosseum and began to fight. During that hour, the goblins kept coming one after the other. Since some of them were armed with shields, they were causing quite a bit of trouble to the ranged fighters...
Even though they were a lot weaker than Luke, they were a lot more sturdier thanks to their shields. Unfortunately, those disappeared when the monsters died. Against that type of enemy, Luke could just use his speed, but instead of that, he used Spark Ball and paralyzed them and many others.

Luke had already leveled up two times in that hour, so things weren't so bad, but he had a feeling that he had to escape from there as soon as possible. In the end, Rina confirmed that his fears weren't unfounded.
"Luke, you have to leave this place… I can feel a massive aura coming from the north," Rina said. "It is the aura of an army…"
"The goblin champion is coming, huh…" Luke furrowed his eyebrows. "Still, we can't risk luring him to where the survivors are."
"No, we should escape… and fight it alongside the other soldiers," Billy said.
Luke didn't like the idea since it might put his parents in danger. However, a thousand goblins were something that they would need all the help they could get to defeat...
"Let's open a path, Shalia," Luke said. "Do the usual."
Luke dashed toward the northern exit of the colosseum while running over the corpses of the goblins. When some of them tried to stop him, he used Stinger and pierced their throat. Meanwhile, Shalia used her spinning Ice Saws when they reached the tunnel. There were so many enemies there that even when they became corpses, the goblins served to slow down Luke and the others who were following him behind.
Thanks to his speed and firepower, Luke eventually reached the other side. Still, then he saw hundreds of goblins around and ready to attack. That shocked him for a few moments, but he quickly recovered and charged toward them while holding his sword tightly. Luke quickly created a path by slashing his sword wildly, but the goblins around were fast approaching…
Despite that, Luke smiled since they weren't that close to the Colosseum anymore, and so he threw some grenades around.
Massive explosions happened and made the goblins explode in many pieces, and those who survived were thrown away like pieces of rags. Billy opened his eyes widely since there was no way that the grenades could be that powerful… even tank bullets wouldn't cause that much damage. So, it was evident that Luke used some sort of skill to enhance the grenades.

Luke used all the five grenades that he had obtained and caused perhaps more destruction than an army of goblins could in one hour. However, that much was necessary if he wanted to open a safe route.
"Anything worthwhile was dropped?" Luke asked.
"No," Rina replied. "Then let's get the hell out of here."
The others didn't need a better invitation, so they followed Luke. Although they found some goblins along the way, the others that survived behind were too wounded to give chase, they had to recover for a while, and the group used that chance to head northwest.
While the group was running, they saw the airplane flying around the area… they still had some time before it ran out of fuel, but it was clear that they had to hurry up and secure the airport. However, once they do it, the goblin champion will probably head there as well, attracted by the noise.
"You look pretty calm, Luke," Billy said. "While this isn't the first time, I am pretty surprised with this kind of situation."
"You get used to it when you start to work with me," Billy said. "I am someone who is unlucky in business, unlucky in love, but I am lucky with my unluckiness."
"I Don't really get it… but I can see where you are coming from," Billy frowned.
Luke got pretty lucky in the beginning, getting a powerful skill, receiving the support of Rina and Shalia. Still, after that, one troublesome situation after the other happened. He pretty much had only more luck than those that had died…
After a while, the group reached the hotel's area. The place had many corpses of goblins around, so it was a sign that people had been fighting quite a lot in there. Once they entered the lobby of the hotel, they found the remaining soldiers and the group that they were supposed to rescue. Among them, Luke found a tall and slightly tired light brown-haired man and a surprised blond woman, both of them were in the middle of their forties, and they were Luke's parents, Mark and Julia Kennedy.
"Luke! You are all right! Thank goodness!" Julia said and then dashed to hug her son with all her might. Since she did that, she almost crushed Shalia and Rina.
"It is good to see you, mom," Luke said and then hugged her back.
"You really brought him and Amanda?" Mark frowned as he approached. "Were we really that shorthanded, Billy?"
"Well…" Billy forced a smile.
In any case, despite the heaviness of the atmosphere, Luke's group seemed pretty relaxed. For the first time since the monsters appeared, Luke showed his true smile. Not the vicious one that he shows when he is fighting.
