Chapter 55: 54

-12 Years Ago-

A man who looked like an older Yukan was running on a road.

It was Hyatt, Yukan's father. He was 31 years old that year.

Blood was flowing out from his stomach, there was a big cut on his arm and quite a few more serious injuries all over his body.

He was out on a mission to investigate his old classmate and friend, Uchiha Kagami's death. Though it was specified in the files that Kagami had died on a mission, Hiruzen and Hyatt always felt that it was wrong.

A few days ago, Danzo had come to Hyatt with a proposal to investigate Kagami's death with the help of his organization, ROOT.

Hyatt, who knew Danzo and was in friendly relations with him, agreed easily. He went to a small village near Konoha where it was reported that Kagami was killed.

While Hyatt was investigating, he was stabbed in the stomach by one of his teammates and the other one put a big cut on his arm.

Hyatt was able to cut their throats even in so much pain and hoped to get out but his hope was betrayed when he saw Danzo along with many ROOT ninjas.

In the end, Hyatt had to engage in combat with the whole ROOT and somehow managed to escape from them with his injuries.

Hyatt looked back for a second while running and noticed Danzo coming behind him. Hyatt sped up a little more but, within moments, he unexpectedly stood in front of a cliff.

"Where will you run now?" Danzo said when he finally arrived where Hyatt stood.

"Nowhere," Hyatt said and unsheathed his sword. He was a right-handed person but due to his injuries, his right arm was not working properly and Hyatt had to use his left arm.

After a few minutes of continuous fighting, Hyatt once again stood on the edge and Danzo a little far from him.

Danzo's right eye had been pierced by Hyatt while Hyatt had one more stab mark on his body, on his chest.

Hyatt looked back, below the cliff.

Behind Danzo, once again ROOT members appeared.

"What now? Will you kill yourself?" Danzo sneered.

"Better than dying at the hands of a pussy who hides behind his men," Hyatt said and jumped off the cliff.

Danzo hurried to the cliff. He wanted to kill Hyatt with his own hands as compensation for the damage he had incurred.

Danzo was angry but backed from the cliff after he saw Hyatt falling into the turbulent river without any movement.

"I'll take this." Danzo picked up Hyatt's sword filled with blood and walked through the crowd of ROOT.

-Back to the present-

Yukan started moving and instead of a human, what was visible to the ROOT puppets was a blur which went on cutting them.

Within minutes, Yukan had crossed out most of the ninjas. Each ninja's body was badly mutilated.

Some had a sword slash at their nose, some were cut in half from the center of their body while some were even worse.

As Yukan continued to kill ninjas, sometimes their cut body parts like hands would fall on Yukan's body. It was not scary for Yukan, he was more familiar with blood than water but, it was still dangerous.

Yukan would always try his best to dodge them.

"Should we still do it, Danzo-Sama?" A woman in a mask standing close to Danzo asked him.

"Of course," Danzo said and continued to look at Yukan, or tried to look at the blur.

At a signal from the woman, almost all the remaining ROOT ninjas rushed at Yukan.

"[Thought Acceleration]" Yukan used the skill and was able to kill all the ninjas easily, without breaking a sweat but, when he killed the last one, Yukan felt weird.

He was travelling at a fast speed but, suddenly his skill deactivated and he almost fell. Yukan was bent on one knee and was trying to bring his breath back to normal.

He looked at Danzo. Danzo was standing right behind the woman who previously signalled everyone to move.

"You can't use it anymore," Danzo said and smirked. At that moment, a total of four more ROOT ninjas came in front of Danzo to cover him and also, at that moment Yukan realized that a seal had been put on him, blocking his chakra. {A/N: Since Benimaru used skills with Mana, Yukan uses them with Chakra. No Chakra = No skills or resistances, only physique.}

He slowly felt himself getting sucked into another world.

Soon, he could see nothing but a small light hanging down from the roof in a dark room and a bed under it.

Yukan walked towards it and pulled down the sheet. He backed a few steps the moment he saw who it was.

It was his body from his previous life.

"No, No, this cannot be. I am pretty sure I was dead. This must be… a genjutsu" Yukan said.

Not much later, he once regained his senses and was back to the battle with ROOT and Danzo.

Once again, Yukan was surrounded by ROOT ninjas, all the remaining 4 other than the woman.

"I did not expect you to wake up so soon. So, what is the most unexpected thing you saw?" Danzo said as he walked closer to Yukan.

Yukan gave Danzo no reply and proceeded to try and locate the seal on his body.

"The genjutsu used just now would show the victim the most unexpected thing. It may be the death of a loved one, their own death or maybe some material thing. Huh? Are you trying to find the seal? Leave it, even if you find it, it will be very painful to remove it." Danzo said.

Yukan still gave no reply and just stood up. He then noticed that the seal was placed on the right part of his ribs.

Yukan tried to pull it off but, as Danzo had said, it pained him as hell. An expression of pain appeared on  Yukan's face.

Danzo sneered at Yukan and then took out Hyatt's sword.

Yukan, on the other hand, had not been nervous or scared for even a second and pulled off the seal quickly in a go.

The pain did occur for a second but it soon disappeared due to the [Pain Nullification] skill.

Yukan once again picked his Crimson Rectus quickly and swung it 360 degrees, cutting the ROOT ninjas surrounding him.

"WOW! You're even worse than your father, eh?" Danzo said. He had realized that Yukan's strength was not ordinary but Danzo was walking toward Yukan with a smirk on his face. He believed that Yukan must have been tired from the battle previously and the pain from removing the seal would be eating Yukan from the inside.

Yukan too was breathing fast but, it was not because he was tired but, it was that he was regretting not taking the stomach ache medicine before fighting and was also feeling very thirsty.

When there were only three meters left between them, Yukan blurred once again and appeared in front of the women who stood in front of Danzo.

The woman took out a kunai but before she would be able to move any further, Yukan held her throat with one hand.

He picked her up from her throat and threw her in his right direction. She hit the mountain wall a little far from them. Her body created a small impact on the mountain.

As this happened, Yukan said," Move, bitch."

Blood could be seen flowing out of her and her body was stuck on the mountain wall, showing that the whole back side of her body was crushed and stuck.

Now, no more ninjas were alive in the area other than Yukan and Danzo. Piles and Piles of corpses in masks and cloaks lay behind Yukan as he walked to Danzo now.

Yukan's sword would drag on the ground making a screeching noise.

He and his blade were completely covered in blood, literally. There was no place on his clothes which was not red. Only his face was still clean.

Yukan's height was more than Danzo and moreover, the light made Yukan look like a giant in front of Danzo. It seemed as if it was an adult looking down at a kid.

"Now, as for who will kill whom…" Yukan said coldly and stood right in front of Danzo.

Finally, Danzo felt an uncertainty rising in his mind. He was uncertain, he had a very big question mark in his mind now.

'Will I survive this monster.'
