Chapter 7: 07

Even if the genin was defeated easily, there were still 7 left.

Currently, three were approaching him from his right while four were standing at the rear.

'They all look around my age. Their strength, at most, should be at a fresh genin's level.'

Yukan also just graduated from the academy but has the strength of a chunin, giving him a big advantage.

He unsheathed his katana and assumed a normal guard position.

In this position, Yukan could easily block or attack them.

The three genin charged at Yukan, foolishly, in a line.

As they came closer, Yukan got ready to make a slash using his full strength.

"He'll easily die with the three of us attacking at the same time."

"Yes, he could only knock out the weakest of us"

"Yes"

As soon as the three ended their fantastical talks, they were slashed down by Yukan.

The genins were merely knocked out and were not dead.

By now, Sakumo had already finished killing his targets and was watching Yukan fight.

Sakumo was covered in blood all over and the blade in his hand was dripping with blood and his eyes had a mysterious coldness in them.

Now, Yukan was headed towards the four remaining genin.

Yukan, instead of keeping his katana in his hands, threw it at one of the genin.

The genin was baffled at Yukan's action and ended up getting punched by Yukan in his chest.

"3 remaining now. This is pretty easy."

Yukan proceeded to fight against two of the three remaining.

He had gotten used to facing enemies coming from one direction only.

"He'll be in trouble if the last one takes action." Sakumo on the tree said to himself.

And, what Sakumo said, really happened.

Although Yukan was once again able to knock out the two using his fists, the third threw a kunai at Yukan aiming for his head.

Yukan noticed it pretty soon but his body was not fast enough to react within time.

'Will I need to use the all-healing pill so soon?'

Yukan was ready to give his system the instruction to give him the pill but then, Sakumo appeared.

Yukan was not able to sense him at all.

During their spar a month ago, he was at least able to have a hint of where he was, but now, he had no idea he was there until he saw him with his eyes.

'Ah! He's here.' Yukan breathed a sigh of relief as he felt a little secure when Sakumo appeared.

But, Sakumo was not moving. The kunai was getting closer and closer to Yukan's face.

'Will…Will, he not save me?' Yukan wondered in his heart.

Right when the kunai was about to stab Yukan's eyes, Sakumo caught the kunai and threw it back at the genin.

Sakumo was angry and annoyed that he had to come and save Yukan.

Being angry, he threw the kunai a little hard and it went through the last genin's head, making a hole in his forehead.

Yukan breathed a sigh of relief but did not move at all.

"This is what I didn't want to do. You need to be aware of your surroundings. If the person standing in the back has not attacked, it does not mean he cannot attack. Moreover, why did you not kill all of them and rather knocked them out?" Sakumo glared at Yukan.

Sakumo was very disappointed in Yukan.

Sakumo had no problem in saving Yukan, after all, this was his first mission and he was fighting 8 ninjas at the same level as him. (A/N: Although Yukan's power is at chunin, he is still a genin.)

He did not expect his student to ignore his opponent like an idiot.

Yukan did not speak anything, he was overwhelmed by the angry Sakumo.

"Speak now, Yukan, and be as honest as you can. Don't test my patience."

Yukan finally started to speak while fumbling," Se-Sensei, they a-all looked the same age as me s-so I…"

Yukan was still speaking but was interrupted by Sakumo's mocking laugh.

"HAHA, you did not kill them for that reason? What if they killed you? I am pretty sure they would not have left you alive. Stop seeing the world using Rose-tinted glasses. No one cares about your life and death. You know, people older than me kill ninja who is younger than you and it is considered normal." Sakumo tried to tell Yukan about the cruelty of the world.

"...S-sorry Sensei" Yukan bowed his head and looked downwards.

Seeing Yukan like this, Sakumo did not say much but gave Yukan one last order before they left to find team 1.

"Yukan, kill all these ninjas you have knocked out."

Yukan proceeded and went to each of them and slit their throat while Sakumo stood there ensuring he did it correctly.

Before leaving again, Yukan vomited twice.

Sakumo did not try and comfort him, he had decided to make Yukan stronger and take him to the front line when he leaves again.

Sakumo and Yukan were searching for team 1 in the woods.

They had to find them quickly because the team's jonin was seriously injured.

"Stay alert, I sense four presences but one of them seems to be very weak, they may be the team 1 that we are looking for," Sakumo said.

Yukan got alert, he was determined to not make the same mistake again.

Yukan abruptly stopped and looked at three ninjas, waiting to ambush the four presences in front of the cave.

"...Sensei those three ninjas, they seem to be from"

"... Iwa. They are from Iwa."

The three ninjas were wearing the standard red outfit of the Iwa shinobi.
