Chapter 88: 84

-At a large lake located near Konoha-

In the depths of a lake, where the pressure was high enough to make civilians die, Yukan sat with his legs folded, meditating.

Beside him sat Minato in the same posture but, Minato was a little uncomfortable and continuously moving his shoulders and adjusting his arms.

After a few minutes, Minato opened his eyes and started tapping on Yukan's shoulder in a state of panic.

When Yukan opened his eyes, Minato did a thumbs-up and started swimming up to the surface. Yukan waited for a brief moment but decided to follow Minato up to the ground.

"What is it?" Yukan asked when he got to the ground and saw Minato lying on the ground, gasping for air.

"I needed air, of course, bitch. I cannot breathe underwater." Minato replied while continuing his gasping and holding his chest tightly.

"Umm, not my fault if you're weak. Holding your breath for a half-an-hour should be a minimum for a good ninja like you." Yukan said as he got out of the water and stepped on the ground.

"Whatever. You made me throw punches and kicks in the water first and then asked me to meditate, that too, without oxygen. Not everyone is a monster like you." Minato said.

"Hmm." Yukan picked up a towel hanging on a thin branch of a tree nearby and started wiping the water off his body.

"Heyy, why did you quit being a ninja, though?" Minato asked as he stood up after getting his breath back to normal and picked up another towel.

"I'm tired now. I'm already the strongest in the world. I'm 22. Although I am not too old, I've had 13 years as a shinobi out of which, nine were when I was only on the battlefield. I have killed armies and ended villages with my own two hands. I... want to stop now. Moreover... I have killed all the problems there might have ever been." Yukan said as he made a tensed sigh and remembered his fight with Madara.

'Where the hell is Zetsu hiding? Well, I can kill him the moment he comes in my range.' Yukan thought.

"Well, all the best to your peaceful life. I'm going to go now. The case on Shisui is still open. I have to investigate further." Minato said while wearing a jacket over his wet hair and teleporting from where he was.

"Damn. I still don't understand how he is comfortable wearing clothes over his wet hair...." Yukan said as he walked forward and lay in the bright morning sun to dry his hair.

Yukan looked at the area around him. There were trees and beautiful flowers as far as his eyes could see. With the lake in between and green grass all around it, Yukan felt warm.

"All a man can want is a house in a place like this." Yukan smiled and closed his eyes to continue lying there.

-ANBU headquarters-

"Welcome back, commander," An officer named Sen said.

"Yes, thank you. Give me an update on all the recent matters." Minato said as he walked into his office under the ground and listened to the report given by Sen.

"Yes, commander. Uzumaki clan has gathered a total of 249 members precisely till now. All have a good knowledge of Seals and are willing to help Konoha's military. Hokage-Sama is wondering whether he should make the Uzumaki clan's re-emergence in Konoha to make all the hidden clan people come to Konoha. Kushina-Sama was asked to be the Uzumaki clan head but she rejected the proposal. For now, Uzumaki Han, your father-in-law is acting as the Uzumaki clan head. Other than that, the Nara clan......." Sen gave an update on the whole situation in Konoha and ended by the time Minato reached his office.

"Tell sensei that he should make the announcement about the Uzumaki clan now. More people should come in. The dispute between the Nara and Uchiha clan is very small. You resolve it.

Don't let the news of Yukan's retirement go public. Only a few high-ranking ANBU members should be fine knowing it. Now, tell me about Uchiha Shisui's case. Any updates there?" Minato asked while sitting on his chair and sorting out some files.

"No, commander. Two ANBU new joiners have been tasked to find the dead bodies of the three others on Uchiha Shisui's team. The bodies haven't been found till now."

Minato sighed loudly as he covered his face with his hand. He rubbed his eyes softly and said, "In seven months, animals must have eaten the dead bodies...."

"Commander, may I ask, why are you so bent on investigating this case? This was a simple ambush where our good ninjas unfortunately died." Sen asked.

"I have a hunch, something is off. Things...happened weirdly. Hah! Anyways, we are starting the day. Bring me files on the...." Minato got busy with his work.

-In a secret place-

The masked man who often appeared close to Kozuki and Madara before death stood in front of a mirror.

"Ahhhh, this hurts like hell !!" The man exclaimed as he wiped his face full of blood and his hands of blood were redder than roses which represented love.

"What are you doing?"  Zetsu who peacefully stood behind the man asked him.

"What do you mean? Getting ready for the big day." The man said while turning around.

When he turned around, two different mangekyou patterns appeared in his eyes. One was a new, his own and the other was, Uchiha Shisui's Sharingan.

"Yukan Norio...He really shouldn't have tried to take my things." The man said as he picked up a photo lying in front of the mirror. 

The photo had a lot of children in it, along with Yukan and Minato's your-selfs...
