Chapter 10: VIII. ‘Coup d’état’

Previously on ‘Tale of the Demon Hero’: Using their ‘Fire Birds’, the ‘Fireiyan’ Reps finally sent out the five letters to their chosen ‘Candidates’ for the ‘Presentation’. The five persons that received each letter were: Mayumi, Eito, Kazuki, one of the Hamasaki Twins, Hikaru who was ditched by Mr. Train Conductor and Rai, the ‘witch’, who went back to her home.

Thirty Minutes before 8PM

‘Main Island’, ‘Alementalia Central Airport’

Inside the landing zone…

“Ms. Gina! Ms. Gina! Please look up.” The first spy said as he panicked and ran towards Gina He and Gina were on their post, guarding the landing zone.

“What is that? An aerostat?! Mr. Geno informed us that the ‘Iytherian Reps’ were going to leave and pick-up the ‘Candidates’ the day after tomorrow. Then, whose aerostat is that?” Gina said as she gazed up and wondered.

“What should we do, Ms. Gina?” The first spy said as he got nervous and asked Gina.

“Bring the last aerostat back in the garage and warn the others. After that, wait for my signal.” Gina said as she instructed the spy who immediately ran away.

Gina runs back to her guard post and whispered something to the second spy waiting for her. The second spy immediately ran out of the Airport.

Meanwhile,

Above the ground

Inside Eito’s 2^nd aerostat, 1^st Class Suite…

“Young Master, I’ve brought your drinks.” Mr. George said as he knocked on the door.

Mr. George didn’t hear any response, so he decided to go inside the Suite.

“She loves me. She loves me not – Eh?! Ahem! Thank you.” Eito said as he was surprised to see Mr. George and immediately hide the sunflower behind him.

“Young Master is blushing. I wonder why.” Mr. George said as he walked away and looked outside the window.

“I-I am not blushing. You may now leave – Huh?” Eito said as he looked down at the Airport and saw 10 mysterious persons taking an aerostat out of the airport.

“Young master? What are you doing?!” Mr. George said as he saw Eito grabbed the 1^st parachute bag pack and gave it to Mr. George.

“We are going to jump off the aerostat. Soldier! Send this message to my co-pilot: Do not land yet and wait for my signal.” Eito said as he bravely jumped off the aerostat.

“As you wish, young master.” Imperial Soldier #1 said as he immediately ran away.

“Young Master!? Wait!!...He jumped off. I must follow the young master but…Why me?!” Mr. George said as he cries, put on the parachute backpack and also jumps off the aerostat.

While in Mid-air….

Upon jumping out off his aerostat, Eito and his attendant are now seen  descending fast onto the ground.

“I’ve always wanted to try this new technique! Ah! What a beautiful night sky there is! I wish Ms. Rai could see this. Huh? What am I saying?! Focus Eito! Focus!  Uh? Is that Mr. George?” Eito said as he blushed and saw Mr. George, falling and panicking behind him.

“Young Master! Why would you do that?!” Mr. George said as he panicked and yelled at Eito.

“Ah! I apologize. I think there is something wrong down there, at the Airport. Based on the letter, the ‘Iytherian Reps’ should pick up the ‘Candidates’ tomorrow morning not tonight.” Eito yelled as he tried to pull Mr. George towards him, grabbed the long, yellow string and gave it Mr. George.

“What is this? W-what are you doing, young master?” Mr. George said as he took the yellow string and asked Eito.

“Now, Pull this!” Eito said as he commanded Mr. George who immediately pulled the yellow string, releasing the parachute itself.

Mr. George is now slowly descending on the group and suddenly flown by the strong wind away from Eito. Eito on the other hand…

“Not yet not yet Now! ‘Within the abilities given to me, I command thee, Slow down!” Eito said as he used his ‘Air-Alementalian’ Magic before he actually falls on the ground.

Upon arriving, Eito tried to actually walk while in mid-air as he slowly descends on the ground.

“Hey! How did you-?! Where did you come from?” The first ‘Upper Knight’ said as he and his other four buddies saw what happened and ran towards Eito.

“Yes, it worked! I will call this technique, ‘Air-walking.’  Oh, Hello! Good evening.” Eito casually said as he’s still in mid-air and saw the four ‘Upper Knights, aiming their muskets at him.

“A-Amazing! How does he do that? He is floating above us!” The second ‘Upper Knight’ exclaimed as they all looked at Eito.

“How should I explain this? I used my ‘Air-Alementalian’ Magic to compress the air below my feet. Then, I decided to walk if I am going to fall or not. Luckily, I did not fall. See?” Eito said as he explained to the ‘Upper Knights’ while walking right to left in mid-air.

“Shut up! Who are you?! State your name.” The third ‘Upper Knight’ said as he walked towards Eito, still aiming his musket.

“How dare you aim your musket to your future ‘Imperial Ruler’?” Eito seriously said as he jumps to the ground and then, immediately seized the musket off the third Knight’s hand.

The fourth ‘Upper Knight’ got scared and accidentally pulls the trigger of his musket aimed to Eito. The bullet hit Eito, creating an open wound on his right leg.

“Damn it! I didn’t notice that guy. Ow-Ouch.” Eito said as he suddenly kneels down on the ground, trying to endure the pain from his wound.

“Enemy neutralized. Go and arrest him.” The fourth ‘Upper Knight’ said as the other three Knights was about to take Eito away but…

“Get away from my young master!” Mr. George said as he suddenly appears and ran towards to Eito and the ‘Upper Knights’, dragging the parachute backpack behind him.

“Mr. George?! Hey! Just stand back – Eh?” Eito said as Mr. George continues to run towards them.

Upon his arrival back on the ground, Mr. George snapped out, enraged as he began  disarming these 'Soldiers' all by himself.

“Sir, are you alright?!” Mr. George said as he got worried and asked Eito.

“A-Amazing! I didn’t know that you’re that strong. Ms. Georgia will be proud of you.” Eito said as Mr. George helped him to stand up.

“Thank you, sir. Let me bind your wound.” Mr. George said as he tore off his black, long sleeves and used it to bind Eito’s right leg.

“What happened in here? Uh? Intruders! Soldiers, arrest them!” Gina said as she and another four ‘Upper Knights’ arrived at Eito’s location.

“Stay away from my young master.” Mr. George said as he pushed Eito away and tried to fight off the other four ‘Upper Knights’ by himself. 

“Oh my, Gina, the girl from ‘Fireiya’. What are you doing in here?” Eito said as he stands up and casually dusted off his black pants.

“Eito? It’s been a while. Well, I am working at the moment.” Gina said as she smirked, making Eito irritated.

“Working? Only ‘Iytherians’ who recommended by the ‘Iytherian Reps.’ can work in the Airport. Don’t tell me -…” Eito said as he looked at Gina who flinched.

“You’re right! This is a coup d’état’. His highness wants that throne.” Gina said as she laughs manically.

“His? The throne? Tell me, who is the mastermind behind this?” Eito said as he asked Gina who ignored him and looked up on the night sky.

“Ah! What a beautiful night sky. But I have a job to do so – ‘Within the abilities given to me, I command thee -…” Gina said as she took the black glove off her left hand.

“’Royal Advisor’? Sir Hiiro? Wait! Gina, stop! The ‘Exiled Prince’ said that we are not allowed to use our ‘Alementalian Magic’ while in the ‘Main Island’.” Eito said as he reminded Gina.

“Shut up! The ‘Exiled Prince’ abandoned the Kingdom! He abandoned us. He lied just to save himself and that fake princess. ‘I command thee – Spread out!” Gina said as she kneeled down, touched the ground and used her ‘Fire-Alementalian’ magic.

“Gina, stop! Damn it! ‘Within my abilities given to me, I command thee – Fly!” Eito said as he panicked and also used his another ‘Air-Alementalian’ Magic.

Just like what he did during his fight with Rai, Eito summons a strong tornado beneath Gina’s feet. Gina suddenly got lifted in the air along with him, Mr. George and the eight ‘Upper Knights’ and were all tossed out of the Airport.

But Gina’s magic created one of the three most dangerous ‘Fire-Alementalian’ magic; the ‘silver-colored fire’. The wind amplified her ability and got mixed up in the tornado. Both of their abilities created a dangerous silver ‘fire tornado'. Everyone inside the Airport tried to run away but it was too late. The aerostat starts to explode one by one. Everything is burning.

The explosion was heard all over the ‘Main Island’, alerting the island firefighters and waking up the ‘Alementalians’ living inside the ‘Main Island’. Ten minutes later, five fire trucks arrived outside the burning airport. These ‘Wathyrian’ firefighters manifested their ‘Water-Alementalian’ ability to magically expand the water molecules, resupplying their water tank as the others tried to subdue the fire and alert the civilians living around the airport.

Few meters away from the burning airport…

“Young Master…Young Master!? Where are you?’ Mr. George said as he regains his consciousness, stood up and went out to find Eito.

“I-I’m here! Damn it.” Eito said as he tried to shout out while being stuck up on a tree.

“Young Master! Don’t worry. I will immediately get you down from there.” Mr. George said as he starts to climb the tree.

“Uh? Ow! My left arm. Damn ‘Iytherian’ and his magic. Anyway, my plan worked somehow. Let’s get out of here.” Gina said as she commanded the remaining three ‘Upper Knights’ beside her stood up and they all ran away from the burning airport.

“Hey! Where are you going? Young Master, the woman earlier – I saw her escaping on that way.” Mr. George said as he jumped off the tree.

“Then, follow her. Now!” Eito said as he commanded Mr. George who immediately ran away to chase Gina and the others.

“Alright! Now, for the third time…I hope this works. ‘Within the abilities given to me, I command thee – Huh?! ‘Ruins’? Come on! Not now.” Eito said as his magic does not work because of his ‘Ruins’.

“Sir! I found a person in here.” Fire Fighter #1 said as he saw Eito who immediately ran away.

“Damn it! The ‘ruins’ are spreading all over my body. Then, I have no choice but to go in the I.C.H.Q. by foot.” Eito said as he starts to run away going to the I.C.H.Q.

In the I.C.H.Q.

Inside Ms. Akari’s room...

 “Uh? Where am I? Wait? Eh?” Ms. Akari muttered as she woke up behind Hiiro who is currently sleeping on the right side of her bed.

 “Akari, you’re moving too much. Ow-my left hand.” Hiiro said as he slowly wakes up and rubbed his eyes.

“Uh? I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to wake you up. Left arm? Eh?” Akari said as she gets up, covered herself with the rest of the blanket and saw Hiiro’s left arm on the top of her pillow.

“I was about to leave your room, but you suddenly grabbed my left arm and used it as your pillow. Don’t worry. Nothing happened. I was exhausted and fell asleep beside you.” Hiiro said as he explained what happened few hours ago.

“I did what?! What do you mean by nothing happened? Answer me, you perverted womanizer!” Ms. Akari said as she blushes tenfold, grabbed a pillow and used it to squish Hiiro’s face.

“I swear! Nothing happened. I was really exhausted and immediately fell asleep, that’s it! So, please stop squishing my face.” Hiiro said as he blushes tenfold and pleaded.

“Hm? Okay. I believe in you.” Ms. Akari said as she stops squishing his face and hugs the pillow.

“Then, can we go back to sleep – Huh?! Earthquake! Get down.” Hiiro said as he felt the ground shaking and immediately pulled Akari towards him. Few minutes later, the ground stopped from quaking.

“That was close. Hiiro? Where are you going?” Ms. Akari said as Hiiro gets out of the bed and opens the glass window.

“There is a silver-colored smoke coming over there. Wait! That’s the ‘Central Airport’. What the heck happened?” Hiiro said as he saw a light few meters away from the I.C.H.Q.

“Fire? Wait! This smell…the airport is burning!” Ms. Akari said as she shouted out.

“Your highness! Eh?! I mean – highnesses! We have a problem! The Other ‘Village Reps’ wants you to come in the ‘Main Court’ room immediately.” Yuki said as he slammed the door and went inside Ms. Akari’s room.

10 minutes later

Inside the ‘Main Court’ Room…

“We’re here! What happened?” Hiiro said as he slammed the front door and immediately went inside the court room, followed by Yuki and Ms. Akari.

“Your highness! Uh? Please come in here.” Mr. Court Marshall said as he saw Hiiro and the others.

“What is – Eito?! What happened to you?” Hiiro said as he kneeled down along with the other ‘Village Reps.’, surrounding Eito that was lying down on the floor.

“Get out of the way! The ‘Royal Physician’ is here.” Mr. Court Marshall said as the ‘Royal Physician’ and his team arrives inside the court room.

“We’ve arrived! What the – Mr. Eito? ‘Ruins’? Let’s put him on the stretcher immediately.” Mr. ‘Royal Physician’ said as his assistant nurses gently carried and put Eito onto the stretcher.

“Eito! Tell me, what happened?” Mr. Geno said as he got worried and asked Eito.

“Everything is burning – Ow! Sir? It is a ‘Coup d’état’.” Please help them.” Eito said before he lost his consciousness and fell asleep.

“‘Coup d’état’?! Don’t tell me -…” Mr. Sai said as he suspiciously looked at Hiiro.

“Bring him to the Main Infirmary. Everyone, please listen to me. We, four ‘Village Chiefs’, will go out to check the current situation of the Airport while the others will stay in here. Understand?” Mr. Jiro said as he instructed the others and suddenly ran out of the room, followed by Mr. Sai and Ms. Iysa.

“Master, over here.” The first spy said as he arrived outside the court room and was hiding behind an ‘Imperial Soldier’. The first spy whispered something to Mr. Geno.

“What!? Damn it. Soldier don’t leave your post and guard the I.C.H.Q.! Could you send this message to my wife?” Mr. Geno said as he tries to calm down and whispered something to the ‘Imperial Soldier’ before he ran away with the other ‘Village Chiefs.’

“I understand your highness. Please be careful.” The ‘Imperial Soldier’ said as he and the first spy went inside the court room and closed the front doors.

Inside the Court Room…

“Eito has ‘ruins’ on his body which means he used his ability while in the ‘Main Island.’” Hiiro said as his observations from what they have seen earlier.

“The ‘Exiled Prince’ strictly forbids anyone who lives in the ‘Main Island’ not to use their ‘Alementalian’ Magic. Why would Eito use his?” Ms. Akari said as the others wonder as well.

The ‘Imperial Soldier’ and the first spy silently approaches Mrs. Saki and Ms. Annie.

“Your highness, Master asked me to send this message: ‘Proceed to Plan B. and then escape without me.’ That’s all.” The ‘Imperial Soldier’ said as he whispered to Mrs. Saki.

“Then, please let everyone come inside the room.” Mrs. Saki said as she instructed the ‘Imperial Soldier’ ran away and opened the front doors.

Twelve ‘Upper Knights’ went running inside the main court room and each aimed their muskets to the other ‘Council’ members.

“What?! What are you doing?! Everyone please hides beside me.” Mr. Ryu said as the ladies hide behind Hiiro, Yuki and Mr. Akito.

“It is the fake ‘Princess’s fault! It is Harue’s fault! She was about to choose my husband to become the next ‘Imperial Ruler’, but she ran away during the welcome party.” Mrs. Saki said as she got angry and seized the musket away from the ‘Upper Knight.”

Mrs. Saki aims her musket to Mr. Ryu.

“Harue’s fault? Wait! Don’t tell me - the ‘Iytherian Reps’ planned all of this. The other ‘Village Chiefs’ are in danger! We must leave and – Uh?” Mr. Ryu said as Mrs. Saki aimed her musket and intentionally fired at his right shoulder.

“Mr. Ryu! Please stop this, Mrs. Saki!” Ms. Akari said as she and Ms. Mai ran towards to Mr. Ryu.

“Shut up! Yes! My husband and I planned all of this. But our plan failed, and I will never free from my abusive husband so you’re next.” Mrs. Saki said as the first ‘Upper Knight’ aimed and intentionally fired at Ms. Annie’s left arm.

Ms. Annie suddenly falls on the floor.

“Ms. Annie! Why would you do that?!” Ms. Aya said as she yelled out and rushed to Ms. Annie.

“Be grateful that I only shot her on her left arm. You are there! Get the hell out of here and find the fake ‘Princess’.” Mrs. Saki said as she commanded the six ‘Upper Knights’ behind Hiiro and the others.

The six ‘Upper Knights’ immediately ran out and began searching for the fake ‘Princess’ inside the I.C.H.Q.

“Harue! Damn it. Calm down. Yuki! On my signal, run as fast you can and get out here. Save our little sister.” Hiiro said as he whispered to Yuki.

“Ran out of here? How about you? Eh? Alright, let’s do this.” Yuki confidently said as he smiled.

“You two! Don’t move or else I will shoot her.” Mrs. Saki said as she went mad and aimed her musket to Ms. Aya.

“’Within the abilities given to me, I command thee -…” Hiiro said as he kneeled down and touched the floor.

“Hiiro! Stop! You cannot still use your magic.” Ms. Akari said as she and Mrs. Mai hugged Mr. Ryu.

“Within the abilities given to me, I command thee, Quake!” Yuki said as he stomps his right foot, and the entire walled fortress begins to quake.

While quaking, Yuki ran away and went out of the room. Mrs. Saki, the first spy and the remaining ‘Upper Soldiers’ lost their footings, slipped and fell on the floor. After 10 seconds, the quaking stopped.

“’Within the abilities given to me, I command thee, Bore!” Hiiro said as he touched the floor and used one of the seven ‘Common Combination’ Alementalian Magic: The ‘Quicksand Manipulation’ (Earth and Water).

Whenever Hiiro touches the ground or something solid, it turns into a white, quicksand creating a deep hole which can be used as a trap.  Mrs. Saki and the others fell instantly and got trapped on Hiiro’s ‘white quicksand.’

“Alright! It worked. Everyone, are you alright?” Hiiro confidently said as he ran towards Mr. Ryu and the others.

“Hiiro! Are you alright? Was that Yuki’s ‘magic?” Ms. Akari said as she hugged Hiiro, making Hiiro blush.

“Ah! Yes, that was Yuki’s ‘Earth-Alementalian’ magic. After he stomped, the entire I.C.H.Q. began to quake for at least 10 seconds, affecting everyone inside this walled fortress. His magic does not affect him as well that’s why he can move freely and ran out of the room.” Hiiro said as he explained to everyone.

“Damn it! Traitors must die, especially you.” Mrs. Saki said as her upper body got stuck inside the ‘white quicksand’.

 “You mean traitors like you?  I am only a loyal servant of this Kingdom.” Hiiro said as taunted Mrs. Saki.

“Your stupid loyalty and ambition took you to start the ‘Alliance’ and steal the ‘Book of Prophecies’ from the ‘Exiled Prince’ believing that the ‘Great Collision’ Prophecy must be fulfilled.” Mrs. Saki said as Hiiro, Ms. Akari and Ms. Aya flinched.

“The ‘Alliance’? What does she mean, Hiiro?” Mr. Akito said as he wondered and asked Hiiro.

“Tell them Hiiro! Tell them that you’re the leader of the – Uh? What is happening?” Mrs. Saki said as she panicked while the white, quicksand slowly began to move, sinking her.

“She disappeared. ‘Leader’? Hiiro, what does she – Hiiro?!” Mr. Ryu said as he wondered and asked Hiiro.

Hiiro starts to lose his consciousness and falls on the floor. ‘Ruins’ began to appear on Hiiro’s upper body.

“Hiiro! Are you alright? Huh? ‘Ruins’!? Hiiro, please stop this.” Ms. Akari said as she cried and rushed to Hiiro’s side, begging him to stop using his ability.

“No! I can’t or else they will find out. I hope Yuki’s doing well.” Hiiro said as he slowly fell asleep onto Ms. Akari’s arms.

“Hiiro? Damn it! Your highnesses, please wait for me in here.” Mr. Akito said as he ran and went out of the room, shouting for help.

“Then, I will go and warn our ‘Village Chiefs’!” Mr. Court Marshall said as he also ran out of the room.

Mr. Court Marshall goes out to the I.C.H.Q. and run straight to the ‘Central Airport’.

Meanwhile,

Inside the Main Infirmary Room…

“This is the reason why the ‘Exiled Prince’ forbids us not to use our magic while in the ‘Main Island.” Mr. ‘Royal Physician’ said as his assistants transferred him to the emergency bed and he gently removes the cloth binding on Eito’s right leg.

“’’Exiled Prince?’ Who was he?” The new, Assistant nurse said she asked her boss.

 “Once, this Kingdom has an ‘Imperial Prince’ who got exiled because – Huh!?” Mr. ‘Royal Physician’ exclaimed as Mr. Akito suddenly slammed the door and went inside the Main Infirmary.

“Sir, we need you back at the Main Court room. A ‘Coup d’état’ has begun and the ‘Iytherian Reps.’ are planning to kill Harue. There are also several, injured ‘Council’ members in the court room.” Mr. Akito said as he tries to catch his breath while inside the infirmary.

“What? A ‘Coup d’état’?! Uh? Get back on the bed. Eito, where are you going?!” Mr. ‘Royal Physician’ said as Eito suddenly jumped off the bed and ran out of the infirmary.

“Damn it! Sir, please follow me.” Mr. Akito said as he runs away, followed by Mr. ‘Royal Physician’ and his team.

In the I.C.H.Q.

Inside Harue’s room…

“Your highness, are you alright?” Emi #2 said as she asks Harue while they are both hiding under the study table.

“Yes! What the heck is happening? That is the second, strong earthquake tonight.” Harue said as Emi #2 helped her to crawl out of the table.

“Your highness, you must now go to sleep. It is already – Coming!” Emi#2 said as she heard someone knocking on the door.

Emi#2 was about to open the door when she heard some soldiers arguing outside the room. She suddenly locks the door. The commotion suddenly stops, and Emi#2 runs back to Harue.

“Uh? Who was that? What happened?” Harue said as she got distracted from Emi#2.

“Your highness, please grab that ‘book’ and hide behind me.” Emi#2 said as Harue do what she says. Emi grabbed the ‘book’ and put it inside her satchel.

“Emi, what is wrong?” Harue said as she trembles while hiding behind Emi#2.

Few minutes later, someone successfully slammed the door.

“Harue! There you are Harue!  Come with me.” The Real Emi Fujimoto said as she arrived and went inside Harue’s room.

“Emi, what is going on?” Harue said as she got terrified and asked Emi #2.

“Emi? Her?  I’m the real Emi, Harue. I’m sorry I erased your memories, but I promised everything will be alright.” Emi said as Harue looked at her, wondering.

“Who are you? What are you doing in here?” Emi #2 bravely asked the real Emi.

“I’m here to save you. The ‘Coup d’état’ has begun. We need to get out of here. Please follow me.” Emi said as she walked out of the room and ran to the right hallway.

Emi#2 decided to follow her instincts. She grabbed Harue’s right hand and dragged her out of the room. Outside the room, Harue saw six, ‘Upper Knights’, lying down on the Hallway.

“Emi! Stop! We need to help them.” Harue said as she suddenly stopped and pushed Emi#2 away.

“No! Listen to me, we must leave now.” Emi said as she grabbed Harue’s right hand and ran away with Emi#2.

“Men, are you alright? There she is! Kill the fake ‘Princess’.” The first ‘Upper Knight’ shouted out and ran away, chasing Emi, Emi#2 and Harue on the hallway.

“Kill me?” Harue said as she was shocked from what she heard and ran away with Emi and Emi#2.

Few minutes later, Yuki arrives outside Harue’s room and slammed the door.

“They are not in here. Find them! Immediately! Harue, where are you?” Yuki said as he commanded the other two ‘Lower Knights’ who immediately ran away.

‘Harue was not in her room. Maybe those ‘Upper Knights’ already taken her away – No! Eh? Eito?!” Eito yelled out as Eito arrived behind him and suddenly pat his right shoulder.

“Sir Yuki, where is Harue? Ow…” Eito said as he tries to catch his breath and suddenly falls on the floor.

“Eito! You should go back to the main infirmary. Leave this case to me. Look at your leg. Uh?” Yuki said he as he tore off his long sleeves and used it to bind Eito’s wounded leg.

“Sir, you don’t need to – Uh? Thank you very much, your highness.” Eito said as Yuki continues to bind his leg.

“You know; you should’ve rejected Harue back then.” Yuki said as Eito wondered and blushed.

“Rejected?! So, Harue told you what happened on the welcome party six months ago.” Eito said as Yuki got finished binding his leg.

“Yes. I am grateful that you accepted her request to become her ‘Knight’ but aren’t ‘Knights’ supposed to be loyal to their only one champion? Your kind of mean.” Yuki seriously said as he stood up and rolled up both of his long sleeves.

“Yes, sir! I am only devoted my only one champion but that is not her. I only see her as my little sister. That’s it. I promise I will make it up to Harue after we’ve saved her.” Eito seriously said as he looked at Yuki who sighed.

“Alright! I hope that you will do that. Go that way.” Yuki said as he gently pushed away to the left side of the hallway.

Of the ‘Underground Prison’…

“Stop! I think we can stay in here for a while.” Emi said as she, Emi #2 and Harue stopped from running.

“Why? Why would they want to kill me?” Harue said as she tries to catch her breath and wondered.

“Because Sir Hiiro ordered them to do so.” Emi said as she told Harue who looked back Emi.

“Such false accusations! Sir Hiiro is her highness’ big brother. Why would he do that?!” Emi#2 said as she got angry and shouted out.

“Listen, remember the three ‘Black Hounds’ who attacked us inside the ‘CHARIOT’? Your big brother was the one who ordered them to kill you.” Emi sadly said as she hugged Harue.

“I-I remember that. But how did you know that? Wait! Earlier, you said you’ve erased my memories. Why would you do that?! Why?” Harue said as she got angry at Emi and forcefully pushed her away.

“I-I need to do that in order to save your damn life and that ‘book’. Because you see, you’re the – Huh?” Emi said as they heard someone shouting inside the Hallway.

“This way, men! I heard someone shouting over here.” The first ‘Upper Knight’ said as his fellow knights ran along with him in the hallway.

The first, mysterious voice behind the door of Prison Room #5 said, making the three girls flinched.

“Did you hear that?” Harue said as she turned around and looked at the door behind her.

“Heard what, your highness?” Emi#2 said as he wondered.

“Inside that prison room.” Emi said as she also heard the same mysterious voice.

‘Idiot!

Open the door.’

The second, mysterious voice behind the door of Prison Room #5 said as the actual heavy, metal door magically opens inwards.

“W-what is that thing?” Emi#2 said as she and the other girls saw a ‘Gold Eater’.

“I-It is so tiny and cute!” Harue said as she loudly squealed and grabbed the little ‘Gold Eater’.

“Indeed, your highness. I wonder why this adorable creature were locked up in this room.” Emi#2 said gently pat its head that made several repeated bobbing movements.

“I found them! Over here!” The first ‘Upper Knights’ shouted out as he finally spotted the three girls.

“Huh? Is that a ‘Gold Eater’? Never mind! Get inside!” Emi said as she suddenly pushed Emi#2 and Harue inside Room #5, went inside Room #5 and slammed the door.

Inside Prison Room #5…

“Are you alright, your highness?” Emi#2 said after she and Harue fell on the floor.

“I’m alright. Where are we? It is really dark in here.” Harue said as she asked Emi who sat on the floor, lying her back on the cold wall.

“That voice? Ms. Emi, is that you?” Marco said as he slowly woke up and saw Emi beside him.

“Marco!? I’m glad that you’re alright. What happened to you? Wait! Are these ‘Ruins’?” Emi said as she was surprised to see Marco covered with ‘Ruins’.

“I’m glad you’re alright, Ms. Emi. Ow! It’s been days since I’ve used my magic and these things still does not disappear.” Marco said as he endures the pain from his ‘Ruins’.

“Don’t worry. He will be fine. Let him rest.” Harue said as she gently put down the little ‘Gold Eater’ on the floor.

Harue approaches Emi and holds Marco’s right hand and then Marco slowly falls asleep on the floor.

‘Hello, I’m Ki!

The first, little ‘Gold Eater’ said as he approached and tried to telepathically communicate with Harue.

The second, little ‘Gold Eater’ said as he climbed up on the satchel and tried to telepathically communicate with Harue.

“Hold on, you have a twin brother?!” Emi examined as they saw ‘Mi’ jumped onto the satchel and began climbing on it.

“Hey! What are you doing? Eh?!” Harue said as she panicked and took the satchel off her right shoulder and threw it away.

‘Ki’ flinched and immediately rans toward to the satchel and opened it. ‘Ki’ went inside the satchel and few moments later, ‘Ki’ slowly pulls out ‘Mi’ and the ‘book’ out of the satchel.

“Hey! That’s my big brother’s book. Give it back!” Harue said as she crawled towards the little ‘Gold Eaters’ and seized the book away from them.

‘You found the ‘book’

Yes! We’re finally saved!’

‘Mi’ said as he runs around in circles to express his happiness while ‘Ki’ just waives up both of his tiny arms to express his happiness as well.

“Saved? What do you mean by ‘saved’? Answer me.” Harue said as she asked ‘Mi’ who stopped from running and looked at Harue.

‘The ‘Great Collision’ Prophecy

Will be fulfilled.’

‘Mi’ said as he waived his short, tiny right arm and then pointed it to Harue.

“The ‘Great Collision’ Prophecy? Ah! I’ve heard that story from my big brother. He told us that the Prophecy must be fulfilled in order to save the Kingdom from being destroyed by the ‘Seven Mythical Beasts’ and from those greedy ‘humans? who lives on an another ‘island’. So, the ‘Watherian Reps’ decided to send out their ‘Armada’ to find that another ‘island’, but the ‘Armada’ hasn’t returned yet.  He also said that to fulfill the prophecy, someone must find the ‘Key’ who can open and read the ‘Book of Prophecies’.” Harue said as she remembered what Hiiro talked about the prophecy.

“No! That lying bastard! Harue. Do not trust your big brother’s words. He is lying to you.” Emi said as she interrupted their conversation.

“Shut up! Shut up! He’s the only one who trust me, so I believe in him.” Harue said as she got angry and shouted at Emi.

“Harue? I didn’t mean to – Listen to me…Eh?” Emi said as ‘Ki’ suddenly seized ‘Mi’s short, right arm and lifted his younger twin brother up on the floor.

And intentionally threw ‘Mi’ onto Emi’s forehead.  ‘Mi’ got dizzy, rolled down and fell on the floor.

“A-Amazing! You’re pretty strong for a little guy.” Harue said as ‘Ki’ raised his right hand, agreeing to her complement.

“That hurts! It felt like I’ve been hit with a boulder. Come here, you damn brat!” Emi said as she got angry and

“Harue! Stop. Don’t listen to him. Give me the ‘book’ and – Uh?” Emi said as she tried to get the ‘book’ from Harue.

“No! Get away from me.” Harue said as she forcefully pushed Emi away from her.

“Then, if I simply open this ‘book’… Wait! A-Am I the ‘Key’?” Harue said as she did open the ‘book’ and realized something.

‘Yes! You are the ‘Key’!

‘Ki’ said as he runs around in circles to express his happiness while ‘Mi’ ran towards him and looked at Harue.

“Then, this actual ‘book’ is the – What!?” Harue said as she finally realized that ‘Book of Prophecies’ was in her possession all along.

“Oh no! Harue, give me that.” Emi said as she stood up and tried to seize the ‘book’ away from Harue, but she got electrocuted instead.

“Shut up! Get away from me! You had to erase my memories so that you can steal this ‘book’ and use this for your own selfish reasons. How stupid I am! I-I should get out of here.” Harue said as she put the ‘book’ inside the satchel and then ran away.

“Harue, please calm down. Please let me explain.” Emi said as she gently pat Harue’s right shoulder.

“Your highness, where are you going?” Emi #2 said as she followed Harue and tried to stop

“Get off me! Help! Help! Is there anyone outside? Help me!” Harue said as she tried to kick and knock on the door, asking for help.

“Harue, please stop… Eh? Who is that?” Emi said as they heard someone shouting outside the prison room.

Back in the East Wing Hallway…

“Your highness, we’ve already searched in here. The ‘Princess’ is not in the East Wing.’ Mr. Carlo, one of the ‘Imperial Captains’, said as he and Eito ran along the Hallway.

“I know. But, just in case let’s check each prison room.” Eito said as he and Mr. Carlo stopped from running in front of Prison Room #7.

“Sir, we cannot do that. I’ve heard rumors that a dangerous ‘Beast’ was locked up in one of these room. 

“Yes, we can. Here, I stole the keys on the ‘Imperial Soldier’ guarding this wing earlier.” Eito said as he took out a circular key holder.

The holder contains 48 silver, door keys for the 48 prison rooms found in the ‘Underground Prison’.

“When did you steal that?! Alright! Please do not blame me if that ‘Beast ‘suddenly - Your highness? Are those ‘Ruins’” Mr. Carlo said as grabbed the key holder from Eito.

Eito’s ‘ruins’ began to reappear on his upper body.

“I’m fine. Hurry! Open that door.” Eito said as he kneels down on the ground, enduring the pain from his ‘ruins.’

“Y-Yes! Where is the key on this door?! Ah! Damn it!” Mr. Carlo said as he panicked while trying to find the right key for Room #7.

“Eh? Was that Harue?” Eito said as he heard Harue’s voice along in the Hallway.

“Sir? Where are you going?” Mr. Carlo said as he stopped from finding the key and followed Eito.

Eito ran along the Hallway and kicked each door until he reached Prison Room #5.

“Your Highness! Where are you?!” Eito shouted out as he stopped in front of Prison Room #5.

“Eito? Eito! I am in here! Help me! Help me!” Harue said as she heard Eito’s voice outside the room.

“Your Highness! Sir, over here!”  Eito shouted out as he stopped in front of Prison Room #5.

  Mr. Carlo ran towards the Room #5 and tried to find the designated key for it.

“Help me! Eito! Huh? What are you doing?” Harue said while still looked up inside the room.

“Hurry, sir! Uh? What?! The door suddenly opened itself?” Eito said as he and Mr. Carlo saw the door moved to open itself.

Inside the prison room, ‘Mi’ felt pity for Harue and decided to help her open the door. ‘Mi’ suddenly ran beside Harue and gently pulled the door inwards.

“Eito?! Eito!” Harue said as she cried and then ran out of the prison room.

“Your highness! Uh? I am glad that your safe.” Eito said as Harue suddenly hugged him and gently pat her head.

“It is the ‘beast’! Stand back, your highnesses.” Mr. Carlo said as he saw ‘Mi’ who ran back inside the room.

“Your highness, thank you for saving us.” Emi#2 said as she went out of the prison room, followed by the real Emi.

“Who is she?” Mr. Carlo said as asked Emi#2 and the real Emi.

“She is my servant. I named her ‘Emi’.” Harue said as she wiped off her tears.

“I’m Emi! I’m not an enemy, your highness.” Emi and Emi#2 said in chorus, making everyone confused.

 “Which one of them?” Mr. Carlo yelled out as he wondered who the Real Emi is.

“Emi? What are you doing in here? Sir Hiiro told us that you went to ‘Wathyria’ right after we came back in the ‘Main Island.’ We are all asleep that time, so we didn’t notice you leaving the luxury carriage.” Eito said as she recognizes Emi.

“Which ‘Emi’ are you referring to?” Harue said as wiped off her tears and got confused.

“My ‘Special Ability’ only works when I stay close with Harue so that she can, at least recognize me but something happened and now she completely lost her all of memories because of me. I’m sorry, Harue.” Emi said as she cries.

“Then, her highness does not remember you at all.” Eito said as he looked at Harue.

“Hey, tell me which ‘Emi’ you are referring to?” Harue said as she got confused and asked Eito.

“Maybe, it is for the best that Harue does not remember me, the malicious ‘Enchantress’ at all. Goodbye, my only friend.” Emi said as she hugged Harue and cried.

“Get away from me.” Harue said as she forcefully pushed Emi away and hide behind Eito.

Emi smiled and then ran to the left end of the East Wing.

“A-Anyway, I must find Sir Yuki and tell him that we found the ‘Princess’.”  Mr. Carlo said as he gave the key holder to Emi#2 and ran away.

“Please also tell him that we will wait for him back at their Rest house” Eito said as Mr. Carlo waves back.

 “Please listen, your highness. We have to get you out of the Fortress. The ‘Iytherian Reps.’ wants you dead.” Eito said as he suddenly grabbed Harue’s right hand and ran away, followed by Emi #2.

Back in the ‘Central Airport’…

“Make sure that everything is covered! Hey, I need fire fighters over here!” Mr. Jiro said as he instructed the firefighters that was trying their best to extinguish the fire.

“Your Highness! Your highness!” Mr. Court Marshall said as he arrived inside the burning airport and approached Mr. Geno.

“Oh my! Mr. Court Marshall, you’re just on time. Look at my fabulous masterpiece.” Mr. Geno said as Mr. Court Marshall wonders.

“M-Masterpiece?! No way. It is true that you orchestrated all of this. Mr. Sai! We have to get out of here – Eh?” Mr. Court Marshall said as he was about to ran away but…

One of Mr. Geno’s henchmen that was carrying a musket, arrived and shot Mr. Court Marshall on his right ankle.

“Sir!? Are you alright? Hey! Damn you.” Mr. Sai said as he witnessed everything and then ran towards Mr. Court Marshall.

“What happened? I heard a gunfire and – What have you done?!” Ms. Iysa said as she run towards Mr. Sai and Mr. Court Marshall.

“One down, three to go. Don’t move or else he will shoot you.” Mr. Geno said as he warned Ms. Iysa.

“Shut up! Why are you doing this? Don’t tell me -…” Ms. Iysa said as she asked Mr. Geno.

“Yes! I, too, desire to become the next ‘Imperial Ruler’ of this Kingdom! But that damn, fake ‘Princess’ assigned me to become the ‘Chief-On-Duty’ instead. Now, she will pay for her insolence.” Mr. Geno said as he laughs manically.

“You fool! You just want the throne for yourself. I am going to stop you right here.” Mr. Sai said as he was about to use his ‘Fire-Alementalian’ Magic when…

Mr. Jiro, carrying a bucket of water, arrives on their location; he intentionally splashes the water onto Mr. Sai’s upper body and forcefully throws the empty bucket on Mr. Geno’s head.

“Damn you!!! Why did you do that?” Mr. Sai and Mr. Geno said in chorus as they get angry at Mr. Jiro.

“Hm! I should’ve used that water to extinguish the burning airport beside us.” Mr. Jiro said as he crossed his arms.

“Damn you! Don’t get in my way. Take aim!” Mr. Geno said as his henchman aimed at Mr. Jiro.

“Damn you! Now, I cannot use my Fire-Alementalian’ Magic. Hacho!” Mr. Sai said as he sneezed and yelled at Mr. Jiro.

“I see. You’re now drenched and cannot use your magic, then, you do not take a bath after all.” Ms. Iysa said as she got curious and shouted out.

“N-No! Of course, we, ‘Fireiyans’ do take a bath and our ‘Alementalian’ Magic works best during summer season. But this ‘silver fire’ is sure new to me.” Mr. Sai said as he explained and blushed.

“Soldiers, immediately! Apprehend this man.” Mr. Jiro said as he commanded Mr. Geno’s henchman, but it didn’t work.

“Ha! They will only follow my orders. Soldiers, take aim and fire – Huh?” Mr. Geno said as he stood up and commanded his henchman.

The henchman was ambushed from behind by a ‘Wathyrian’ Firefighter. Ms. Firefighter forcefully unarmed Mr. Geno’s henchman and pushed him down onto the ground.

“Excellent! Now, apprehend both of them. We will start your trial after the Presentation. Uh?!” Mr. Jiro said as Mr. Geno looked up in the sky.

“Within my abilities, I command thee, Form!’” Mr. Geno said as he uses his ‘Air-Alementalian’ Magic.

Mr. Geno summons a fierce whirlwind inside the burning airport. The whirlwind moves fast going to the burning airport and destroyed everything on its way. While everyone is busy extinguishing the fire, Mr. Geno used this distraction and escaped. After two minutes, another loud explosion was heard across the Kingdom.

In the Matsuoka Family’s Official Rest House

Twenty minutes later, Eito, Harue and Emi#2 arrived at the Rest House and went to the living room.

Inside the living room…

“You are now safe, your highness. I would like to apologize for dragging you like that.” Eito said as Harue sat down on the center sofa.

“Thank you, Eito.” Harue sadly said as she took the satchel off her shoulder and placed it beside her on the sofa.

“T-Then, I will get some water for us. I will be right back, your highnesses.” Emi#2 said as she immediately ran out of the living room.

“Your highness, please stay inside the living room. I will just go outside and check if someone – Ow! My right arm.” Eito said as his ‘Ruins’ continues to spread all over his right arm.

 “Harue!? Where are you? Harue!” Yuki said as he and Mr. Carlo slammed the door, and both went inside the living room.

“Big brother Yuki!” Harue said as she sobs and then Yuki ran to the center sofa and hugged her.

“I’m sorry, we’re late. Don’t worry. Everything will be alright. I promise – Uh?” Yuki said as he tries to comfort Harue, but it was useless.

“Thank you, Mr. Carlo.” Eito said as Mr. Carlo looked at him.

“No problem. It is my duty after all. Anyway, look at you. You’re all beaten up.” Mr. Carlo said as Eito chuckled.

“I’m fine. I just need to rest – Ow! My leg.” Eito said as he endured the pain from his injured leg.

“Here, let me help you. Hold on to me.” Mr. Carlo said as he took Eito’s right arm, put it across his shoulder and guided him to the left sofa.

“Thank you, sir.” Eito said as he carefully sat on the left sofa.

“Now, I must leave again to find and tell big brother Hiiro that you are safe.” Yuki said as he wiped off Harue’s tears with his right hand.

“Big brother Hiiro? I almost forgot him. What happened to him?” Harue said as she calmed down and asked Yuki.

“Um? Don’t worry. He is fine and he is strong enough to defend the other ‘Village Reps.’ Mr. Carlo, please come with me.” Yuki said as he stood up the sofa.

“As you wish, your highness.” Mr. Carlo said as he ran to the door and opened it wide.

“We will be right back, Harue. Don’t do anything stupid.” Yuki said as he tousled Harue’s hair and ran out of the living room, followed by Mr. Carlo.

“I must stop crying. Crying wouldn’t change anything. I must muster courage to help them save the Kingdom.” Harue said as she grabbed the satchel and took out the ‘book’.

“Your highness, you should go to your room and rest. What is that?” Eito said as he casually lies down on the sofa.

“’Ki’ said that I should read from this ‘book’. This ‘book’ will guide me to save the Kingdom.” Harue said as she opened and flipping each page of the ‘book’

“Who is ‘Ki’? And how will that ‘book’ save the Kingdom?” Eito said as he endures the pain from his ‘Ruins’

“Ahem! Let’s see, page 22 says that. ‘eH, eht 'etaG repeeK' saw a rail deniahc ot sih tsap.' and under it is an illustration of a chained-like tattoo the author called ‘Cursed Marks’.”  Harue said as she read the sentence on page 22.  

Eito suddenly yelled out and jumped off the sofa; he tried to seize the ‘book’ out of Harue’s hand, but he got electrocuted instead.  Upon this incident, the strange ‘book’ fell on the floor afterwards, eventually making Eito impatient seizing Harue’s arms, forcefully pushes herto the sofa and then slowly straddles above her.

“Eito! Get away from me! Eito, let me go!” Harue said as she got scared and tried to pushed Eito away from her.

“Shut up! Shut up! I did – not kill ... Shut up!” Eito shouted as he went mad and cried.

“Eito? I’m sorry I forgot to say this; thank you for saving me.” Harue said as she smiled and then wiped off Eito’s tears.

“You're welcome…” Eito gently smiles and slowly falls asleep onto Harue’s chest.

“Your highness, I am back. Uh? Sir Eito?” Emi #2 said as she went back inside the living room, carrying a bronze serving tray.

Panicking in distress, Harue suddenly pushed Eito away from her, leading her exhausted ‘Upper Knight’, who is currently asleep, rolled down on the carpeted floor.

“W-welcome back! Give me that.” Harue said as she suddenly stood up from the center sofa, grabbed the glass of water and splashed it onto her face.

“Uh? Your highness, that was meant for drinking and why is Sir Eito sleeping on the floor?” Emi#2 said as she saw Eito, soundly sleeping on the floor and wondered.

“D-Don’t mind him! Give me that.” Harue said as she blushes like a red tomato and the grabbed second glass of water and splashed it onto her face.

“Your highness, that is meant for drinking! Now, you’re all drenched. Please wait in here, I will get some clean towels.” Emi#2 said as she Harue gave the glass back to Emi#2 and again, went out of the living room.

“That was close! Why would Eito that? My heart is beating so fast I – I have to stay focus. Being entrusted with this huge task to save the Kingdom is an honor to me. I just have to find the ‘Gate Keeper’ and ‘Catalyst’…but why do I feel so uneasy?” Harue said as she whispered to herself while looking at the ‘book’.

 Meanwhile in ‘Fireiya’

Back at the ‘Akimura’s House

Inside the living area…

“I heard someone yelling up here, so I went up to check what happened! What exactly happened?” Mr. Shuichi said as he rushed upstairs and asked Mr. Marie.

“Oh? It was nothing, dear. It is just that Rai showed us two letters from -…Uh?” Mrs. Marie said as Mr. Shuichi flinched and stomped going to the living area.

“Father, I’ve received two letters from the – Eh?” Rai said as she informed her father who was not listening to her.

Mr. Shuichi suddenly grabbed the first envelope and examined it.

“Hm? This was from the Second ‘Imperial Council’. That’s a relief.” Mr. Shuichi said as he sighed and put the first envelope back on the table.

“R-relief? What do you mean by relief?” Rai said as she asked her father while Mrs. Marie serves the tea and snacks to Mr. Janice and Theo.

“I thought you’ve received another weird love letter from that Hikaru. Ah! Maybe that’s what the second letter is for.” Mr. Shuichi said as he grabbed the second envelope and examined it.

“Dear, please stop. You have a lot of cleaning due to downstairs.” Ms. Marie said as she gently pats her husband’s head with the empty, serving tray.

“Speaking of Hikaru, he should be back by now. I wonder what happened to him.” Rai said as she wonders.

“Mr. Shuichi! Mr. Shuichi! Please open the door.” Someone yelled out as he loudly knocked on their front door.

“Oh my! Someone’s at the door. I will be back.” Mr. Shuichi said as he walked away and went downstairs, followed by Ms. Marie.

“Okay! So, Rai what are you going to do?” Ms. Janice said as she starts eating the star-shaped, homemade cookies.

“Uh? I honestly do not know what to do. I even wonder why the ‘Council’ would choose me as their ‘Candidate’. “Rai said as she sat down across Ms. Janice and Theo.

“Hm? I think that this one was not from the ‘Council’. Please take a look.” Theo said as he gently picked up the second envelope and gave to Rai.

“Uh? What do you mean?” Rai said as she wondered and opened it.

“Mother, you cannot eat all of those three cookies at once! Please put it down.” Theo said as he tried to stop his mother from eating the cookies.

“Watch me! I can do that at once. Hm? I think I should add one more - …” Ms. Janice said as she grabbed another cookie.

“Mother, just please stop. This is embarrassing.” Theo said as he sighed and blushed.

“Signed by: Ms. Cake Thief…’ Huh? I’ve heard that nickname before. Where was it? Where was it? Ah! From that woman who took my strawberry shortcake during the welcome party. Her name is Harue.” Rai said as she finally remembered who the sender of her letter was.

“You mean her highness, Harue Matsuoka. I’ve heard rumors that she is now working at the I.C.H.Q.” Ms. Janice said as she ate another cookie.

“Mother, that’s enough. Then, you’re probably her highness’ ‘Candidate’ for the ‘Presentation’.” Theo said as he took the cookie basket away from her mother.

“M-Me!? As her ‘Candidate’?! You have to be kidding me! Eh? Welcome back!” Rai said as they heard loud footsteps and saw parent back inside the living area.

“H-he is so heavy. Please help me.” Mr. Shuichi said as he was carrying Hikaru on his back.

“Please… no more flying. Everything is spinning.” The unconscious Hikaru muttered as Mr. Shuichi intentionally let Hikaru fall on the floor.

“Why did you do that?!” Ms. Marie and Rai said in chorus as they ran towards to Mr. Shuichi who crossed his arms after.

“Serves him right. Hm! I am going back downstairs to continue my task.” Mr. Shuichi said as he pouted and stomped while going downstairs.

“Eh? He looks like Mrs. Hashimoto?” Theo said as he got curious and looked at Hikaru.

“My son, he is Mrs. Hashimoto’s only son, Hikaru.” Ms. Janice said as she tousled Theo’s hair.

“Oh? Speaking of Mrs. Hashimoto, I saw her running along the ‘Crafting District’ earlier this afternoon.” Theo said as he casually sips his tea.
