Chapter 12: X. ‘Candidates’ Presentation’

Previously on ‘Tale of the Demon Hero’: The Coup d’état lead by the ‘Iytherian Reps’ has begun. They started an arson in the ‘Central Airport’ and attempted to kill the fake ‘Princess’ but failed thanks to the efforts of Eito, Yuki and Mr. Carlo. The ‘Presentation’ Day is just right around the corner, and everyone is injured.

That night

‘Main Island’, I.C.H.Q,

Outside the Main Infirmary Room

“Where is he?! Let me in! I need to see my husband.” Mrs. Mai said as she got worried and tried to open the door to the Infirmary Room.

“Your highness, please calm down. Mr. Royal Physician ordered us to not allow anyone to get inside the Infirmary room. Please understand that.” The first ‘Upper Knight’ said as he and his buddy tried to stop Mrs. Mai.

The two ‘Upper Knights’ gently pushed Mrs. Mai away and stood few meters away from the Infirmary room; Mr. Carlo, Hiiro, Yuki, Eito, Harue and Emi#2 went upstairs and were running along the Hallway.

“You two! Hurry, open the door.” Mr. Carlo said as he arrived in the Hallway, carrying the unconscious Hiiro onto his back.

“Y-yes, sir!” The second ‘Upper Knight’ said as he immediately runs towards them and opens the door.

Yuki was carrying the unconscious Eito onto his back.

“This way, sir.” Mr. Carlo said as Yuki followed him, and they both went inside the Infirmary Room.

“Your highness, you’re not allowed inside.” The second ‘Upper Knight’ said as he suddenly grabbed Harue’s right shoulder and stopped him.

“But? My big brothers are inside and I – Is that Big Brother Yuki!? Open this door! Let me in!” Harue said as she got worried after they all heard someone groaning in pain inside the Infirmary room.

“Your highness, please calm down.! Everything will be alright.” Mrs. Mai said as she gently pushed Harue away from the door and hugged her.

“But? This is all my fault. I’m sorry.” Harue said as she gave up and cried onto Mrs. Mai’s arms.

Few minutes later, Mr. George and Mr. Carlo both went out of the Infirmary Room.

“Your highnesses, Sir Royal Physician asked me to tell you this message: Everyone is alright so please go back and rest in your rooms. That’s it.” Mr. George said as he told to Mrs. MaI, Harue, and Emi #2.

“Harue, please calm down. Come with me, we have to leave – your highness?! Your highness!” Mrs. Mai said as she tried to talk to Harue.

Harue got tired and eventually lost her consciousness.

“Sir! We need help. Her highness suddenly lost… – “Mr. George said as he panicked and slammed open the door behind him.

“Not again. What is it now? Your highness?!” Mr. Royal Physician said as he got angry and saw Mrs. Mai, Emi#2 and Mr. George trying to wake up Harue.

Thirty Minutes Later

Inside the Infirmary Room…

“Yes! Finally, it is break time.” Mr. Royal Physician said as he sits and lie down on the floor.

“Would you like me to bring your daily, third cup of black coffee for today?” Nurse #1 said as he asked Mr. Royal Physician.

“Yes, please. Without sugar as usual. Thank you.” Mr. Royal Physician said as he rolled onto the right side of the floor.

“Alright. Uh? How about you – your highness? What would you like?” Nurse #2 said as she asked Ms. Julie.

“I would also like to have black coffee with two sugar cubes. Thank you.” Ms. Julie said as the two Nurses and they both went to the pantry area.

“Hey, old man? get up. I need you to tell us what happened to the ‘Princess’.” Ms. Julie said as she gently kicked Mr. Royal Physician while he was resting on the floor.

“Old man.? Alright! I’m Ciyan, the Royal Physician. Nice to meet you.” Mr. Ciyan said he got and sat up on the floor.

“Oh? I’m Julie, the Headmaster of the ‘Artisans’ Guild’. Nice to meet you too.” Ms. Julie said as she introduced herself.

“So, I have ten patients to look after. From the right side, you can see her Highness Harue, Ms. Iysa, Ms. Annie, Sir Sai, and Mr. Jiro resting on each separate beds while on the left side, we have Sir Ryu, Hiiro, Yuki, Eito and Mr. Court Marshall also resting on each separate beds. Don’t worry. They all have minor injuries, and they just need to rest.” Mr. Ciyan said as he stood up and dusted off his white, physician’s coat.

“Sir Jiro, Sir Sai, Sir Ryu, Sir Hiiro, Ms. Annie and Ms. Iysa are all injured; Mr. Geno and his wife, Mrs. Saki are missing making the entire ‘Council’ immobilized and the ‘Presentation’ Day is just right around the corner. This is a really big problem.” Ms. Julie said as she analyzed their current situation.

“Unless her highness does her job and takes over the entire ‘Council’, then we’ll have no problem. But her Highness is still resting so we’re doomed.” Mr. Ciyan said as he looked at Harue’s bed and sighed.

“We’re back. Here’s your coffee, sir.” Nurse #1 said as he went back to the Infirmary area and gave the cup of coffee to Mr. Ciyan.

“How about you hire new assistants? Your current assistants looked tired.” Ms. Julie said she suggested.

Ms. Nurse #2 also gave the last cup of coffee to Ms. Julie.

“Thanks, but no thanks. I only need two assistants and that’s it. Now, for the meantime, let me enjoy my precious break time – Eh!?” Mr. Ciyan said as they someone slammed open the door and accidentally spit out his coffee.

“Is the Artisans’ Headmaster in here?! We need her help.” Ms. Akari said as she tries to catch her breath and went inside the Infirmary Room.

“Your Highness? Are you alright? What happened?” Ms. Julie said as they were all surprised to see Ms. Akari.

“I came in here because w-we need your help. A mob of angry ‘Villagers’ have invaded the main court room. Mr. Akito and the other ‘Imperial Soldiers’ were already there to stop them, but it was useless. Please help them.” Ms. Akari said as she got tired and fell on the floor.

“Alright! I understand. I will assist them. Please lead the way.” Ms. Julie said as she ran out of the Infirmary room, carrying her cup of coffee.

“We will come with you.” Mr. George said as Mr. Carlo nodded.

“Y-yes! Please follow me.” Ms. Akari said as she sighed and ran out of the Infirmary Room.

“Hey, wait! It is dangerous to run while drinking that hot, cup of coffee.” Mr. Ciyan said as he suddenly gave his cup to Nurse #1, ran out of the Infirmary room and shouted along the Hallway.

“Don’t worry! I’m trained to do this.” Ms. Julie said as she, Mr. George, Mr. Carlo and Ms. Akari ran away.

“Okay. Wait – What?!” Mr. Ciyan said as he sighed and went back inside the Infirmary Room.

Back inside the Main Infirmary Room…

“Here is your coffee, Sir.” Nurse #2 said as she gave the coffee cup back to Mr. Ciyan.

“Thank you. Now, I hope no one will come so that I can finally rest – Now, what?!” Mr. Ciyan said as he closed the door.

“Sir, the ‘Princess’ has woken up. She demands to see you.” Nurse #1 said as he ran towards him.

“Oh my, really? That’s good news. Eh?! Your highness!” Mr. Ciyan said as they saw Harue, Emi#2 and Mrs. Mai running towards the door.

Mr. Ciyan and Nurse #1 immediately went out of their way and stepped back; Harue, Emi#2 and Mrs. Mai went out of the Infirmary Room.

“At least close the damn door before you leave!” Mr. Ciyan said as he got angry and slammed the door.

“There you are sir. Her highness has woken up and asked me what happened. So, I told her what Ms. Akari reported to us. She immediately jumped off the bed and left.” Nurse #1 said as he went to the front door and saw Mr. Ciyan and Nurse #2.

“Ah, is that so? Then, your rest day is moved on next week.” Mr. Ciyan said as he casually sips his coffee.

“Huh?! What?! Why?! You cannot do that to me. I – We deserved to have a rest day.” Nurse #1 said as he complained while Nurse #2 sighed.

I.C.H.Q.

Inside the Main Court Room…

Ricard was carrying an old, wooden staff when he saw Ms. Akari’s team running along the Hallway.

“Ah! There you are Headmaster. Please help us.” Ricard, the 1^st apprentice, said as he saw Ms. Julie and Ms. Akari’s team arrived in the court room.

 “Ricard?! What happened in here?” Ms. Julie said as he saw Ricard and her other apprentices inside the court room.

“Uh? We’re supposed to be going back to our department when we saw Ms. Akari and asked us to help Mr. Akito. There are currently 48 ‘Villagers’ creating havoc inside court room. Glenda, Carly, Luna and Nicca were trying to stop the 24 ‘Aethyrians’ on the right side while Mr. Akito, Tommy, Bennie and Henry were on the left side, trying to stop the other 24 ‘Iytherians’.” Ricard said as he explained what is happening inside the court room.

“We will also help the others.” Mr. Carlo said as he ran to the right side while Mr. George ran to the left side, helping Mr. Akito.

“Damn ‘Iytherians’! How dare you blame Sir Hiiro from what happened earlier?!” ‘Aethyrian’ #1 said as he raised his pitchfork and shouted out.

“Huh?! Damn ‘Aethyrians’! How dare you blame Sir Geno from what happened in the airport?! We saw him with the other ‘Village Chiefs’ trying to help the fire fighters. Why blame Sir Geno?” ‘Iytherian’ #1 said as he raised his wooden axe and shouted out.

“Helping?! One of my fellow ‘Villagers’ saw your coward ‘Village Chief’ jumped onto a train wagon and escaped away from the ‘Main Island’ because he was guilty from what he did. Now, the half of the airport is destroyed.” ‘Aethyrian’ #1 said as he ran towards to the other side, but Mr. Carlo stopped him.

“Coward?! One of my fellow ‘Villagers’ heard rumors that Sir Hiiro planned the arson not Mr. Geno because he was jealous that the ‘Iytherian Reps.’ has the control over the ‘Central Airport’.” Iytherian’ #1 said as he ran towards to the other side, but Mr. George stopped him.

“Everyone, please stop! It is already past 10’o clock in the evening. Go home!” Mr. Carlo said as he tried to stop the other ‘Villagers’.

Their bickering continues as the ‘Eight Apprentices’, Mr. Carlo, Mr. Akito and Mr. George tries to separate them away from each other.

“Give me my wooden staff. Protect her highness at all costs.” Mr. Julie said as she instructed Ricard who nodded.

“Yes, Headmaster. Please follow me, your highness.” Ricard said as he grabbed Ms. Akari’s right hand and ran away from Ms. Julie.

Ricard and Ms. Akari both hide behind the ‘Chief’s desk’, placed on the center of the court room.

“Eh? What is happening?” Ms. Akari said as she asked Ricard.

“You will see your highness. Please cover your ears.” Ricard said as he used his hands to cover his ears.

Ms. Akari did the same thing as they hide under the desk.

“The Headmaster has arrived and look! She’s carrying her wooden staff. Oh no! Everyone, cover your ears!” Glenda said as she and the other apprentices covered their ears and kneel down on the ground.

The others just stood up and unware of what is going to happened.

“Within my abilities, I command thee, Come forth – my Ghost Siren.” Ms. Julie said as she gently taps the wooden staff on the floor and used her ‘Water-Alementalian’ Magic and summoned her ‘Ghost Siren’.

An apparition of a beautiful siren appeared inside the court room; it slightly tilted her head and looked at everyone. Everyone gazed upon its mysterious beauty and dropped their weapons on the floor.

“Here it comes.” Ricard said as he peaked out.

“I command thee, Sing!” Ms. Julie said as she ordered her ‘Ghost Siren’.

Her ‘Ghost Siren’ gently opened her mouth but instead of singing, she shouted so loud that everyone suddenly covered their ears. It was so loud and painful that some of the ‘Villagers’ fell on their knees, begging Ms. Julie to stop it.

“What is that horrible sound?” Harue said as she, Emi#2 and Mrs. Mai suddenly stopped running in the Hallway and kneel down on the ground to cover their ears.

Emi#2 was carrying Harue’s satchel; the ‘Ghost Siren’ stopped singing after 15 seconds and her apparition disappeared in the thin air.

“It stopped. Let’s go!” Mrs. Mai said as Harue and Emi#2 nodded and stood up.

Harue and the others arrived inside the court room and saw the 48 ‘Villagers’ in pain and now lying down onto the ground.

“Your highness! Announcing the arrival of the ‘Chief-On-Duty’, Princess Harue Matsuoka and her highness, Mrs. Mai Musashi of ‘Fireiya’.” Ms. Julie said as she welcomes Harue and the others.

The ‘Villagers’ looked at Harue as she and the others enter the court room.

“Welcome back, your highness.” Mr. Akito said as he, Mr. Carlo and Mr. George kneels down on the ground to welcome Harue and the others.

“People of ‘Aethyria’ and ‘Iytheria’, I, your ‘Chief-On-Duty’, promises that my chosen ‘Candidate’ will bring peace and prosperity, uniting all of the ‘Alementalians’ and ‘Living Fiends’, living in the entire Kingdom. So, please heed my request. Please gather your weapons and leave the Fortress immediately.” Harue said as she made a speech in front of everyone.

“Yeah. We highly doubt that you can do that.” ‘Iytherian’ #1 sadly said as he grabbed his pitchfork, stood up and walked out of the court room, followed by his fellow ‘Villagers’.

“As you wish, your highness. We believe that you can do that.” ‘Aethyrian’ #1 said as he smiled. He grabbed his wooden axe, stood up and walked out of the court room, followed by his fellow ‘Villagers’.

“Please guide them out of the I.C.H.Q.” Ms. Akito said as he commanded Mr. Carlo and Mr. George who immediately nodded.

“You too, Ricard and the others. Help them. After that, all of you go back to our department and hide this wooden staff.” Ms. Julie said as she instructed her apprentices and gave the wooden staff to Ricard.

“Yes, immediately, Headmaster.” Ricard and the other apprentices said and then they all ran out of the court room.

“Are you alright, your highness?” Mr. Akito said as he ran towards the desk and asked Ms. Akari.

“Y-yes! I’m alright. Thank you.” Ms. Akari cheerfully said as she stood up and dusted off her dress.

“I would like to apologize for being late. The ‘Presentation’ must continue, and I will personally handle the preparations for it while the other ‘Village Reps.’ are resting.” Harue confidently said as she turned around, now facing Ms. Julie and the others.

“Then, may I suggest that we should send Ms. Julie to pick up the other three ‘Candidates’. Eito is still recovering in the Main Infirmary Room, Mayumi is just waiting back at her apartment in the ‘Imperial Dormitories’, Kazuki Hamasaki went back to ‘Wathyria’ and -…” Mrs. Mai said as she stopped, trying to remember the names of the other two ‘Candidates’.

“My younger brother, Hikaru Hashimoto and Ra – I mean, Ms. Akimura, her highness’ ‘Candidate’ was probably back at ‘Fireiya’ as we speak.” Ms. Akari said as she continued and smiled.

“Ah! That’s it! We have five ‘Candidates’. But what will we do? Based on this written report, all of the 24 reserved aerostats were destroyed after the arson back at the airport.” Mr. Akito said as he gave the written report to Mrs. Mai.

“I am glad that Hiiro deactivated his magic. We had the six ‘Upper Knights’ arrested and immediately brought to the ‘Underground Prison: East Wing, Room #10’. After that, we were reading that when the ‘Villagers’ suddenly came in and interrupted us.” Ms. Akari said as she reported to Harue and Mrs. Mai.

“Room #10? Was that the Room where Hiiro locked up those ‘Dire Wolves’?” Mrs. Mai said as she wondered.

“Then, if we take the trains to pick up the three remaining ‘Candidates’ – Then, we have three days going to each ‘Villages’ and another three days back in the ‘Main Island’ – No!!! it will take six days to bring all of them in the I.C.H.Q!” Mr. Akito said as he analyzed their problem and yelled out.

“The invitations were already sent out and the ‘Presentation Day’ is two days from now. What are we going to do?” Ms. Akari said as she sighed and crossed her arms.

“We cannot just cancel the event. The entire Kingdom was waiting for this event for six months – Uh? Is there something wrong, your highness?” Mr. Akito said as he wondered and asked Harue.

“Um? I was just thinking about this. Eito was the first, official ‘Candidate’ to arrive in the I.C.H.Q. So, he probably used his own aerostat to go in the ‘Main Island’ before the coup d’état begun few hours ago.” Harue said as she told everyone.

“Hm? That’s interesting, your highness. I’ve heard rumors that Eito inherited their entire aerostat factory so probably he has another aerostat to spare.” Mr. Akito said as he nodded and crossed his arms.

“Your Highness – That was amazing! Your right! But? The ‘Central Airport’ is the only place where you can land an aerostat. His aerostat probably got destroyed during the arson.” Ms. Akari said as she pinched Harue’s cheeks.

“How about we wake him up and ask him?” Mrs. Mai said as she suggested.

“There’s no need to wake him up.” Mr. George said as he and Mr. Carlo arrived back at the court room.

“What do you mean?” Harue said as she wondered and asked Mr. George.

“Yes. Young Master and I have ridden an aerostat to get in the ‘Main Island’. While I was chasing the perpetrator behind the arson, I saw our aerostat landed somewhere near the ‘Central Lake’, behind the Airport. So, that’s why the Young Master jumped off the aerostat before!” Mr. George said as he tells everyone.

“W-what? Eito jumped off the aerostat!?” Harue, Ms. Mai, Ms. Akari and Mr. Akito said in chorus and shouted out.

“Your boyfriend is insane. Just like mine.” Ms. Akari said as she sighed.

“What?! B-boyfriend!? H-He’s just my ‘Knight’!” Harue said as she mumbled and blushed like a red apple.

“Anyway, can you lead Ms. Julie to the location of Eito’s aerostat? Mr. Carlo will stay on guard outside the court room while the rest of us will stay in here and inform the remaining ‘Village Reps’ about this plan.” Mrs. Mai said as requested Mr. George.

“As you wish, your highness. Please follow me – Eh?!” Mr. George said as Harue suddenly grabbed his right hand and dragged him away.

“Your highness?! Where are you going?” Emi#2 said as she put Harue’s satchel onto her right shoulder and asked Harue.

“I am coming with you. I want to see the ‘Central Lake’.” Harue said as she got impatient and ran away, followed by Emi#2, Ms. Julie and Mr. George.

“And there she goes. She sounded like her big brother Hiiro earlier.” Mr. Akito said as he peaked through the open door.

“Mr. Akito, please just get going.” Mrs. Mai said as she sighed.

“Alright! Alright! You don’t have to nag at me.” Mr. Akito said as he walked out of the court room and jogged his way going to the Infirmary Room.

“Your highness, please, at least, close the door before you leave!” Mr. Carlo said as Mr. Akito waved back him.

Outside the Main Infirmary Room…

“It is me! Please open the door.” Mr. Akito said as he knocked on the door for the third time.

“No! The Main Infirmary is closed at the moment. Come back later.” Mr. Ciyan said as he locked the door from the inside and casually sips his coffee.

“I came in here to deliver a message. Mrs. Mai decided to send out Ms. Julie to pick up the other three ‘Candidates’ today, using Eito’s aerostat. Her highness, ‘Princess’ Harue, her maid, Ms. Julie and the said butler were all heading on the ‘Central Lake’ as we speak.” Mr. Akito said as he stretched out his arms while waiting for their response on the Hallway.

Eito and Yuki suddenly jumped off their beds, ran to the door and slammed opened it: Mr. Ciyan pouted and looked away while his two Nurses sighed as they looked at him.

“Eh!? You startled me. Shouldn’t you be resting back on your beds?” Mr. Akito said as he saw Eito and Yuki.

“I am sorry about this but Eito, please follow her. My little sister must not leave the ‘Main Island’ not after this ordeal.” Yuki said as he requested and gently pat Eito’s left shoulder.

“As you wish, your highness. Your highness? I think you should go back to your – Uh?” Eito said as Mr. Ciyan approached them and gently carried Yuki back onto his bed.

“I will carry him instead. Now, go and close the door before you leave.” Mr. Ciyan said as he smiled.

“Yes, I will! Thank you, sir.” Eito said as he immediately ran out of the Main Infirmary room.

“Hey! Do you even know where that aerostat has landed? Ah! there he goes, and he forgot to lock the door – Eh?” Mr. Akito said as he yelled out along the Hallway.

Mr. Akito went inside the Main Infirmary and was about to close the door but instead Eito ran back, closed the door himself and left.

“Thy bless your good soul.” The overjoyed Mr. Ciyan said as he cried and accidentally dropped Yuki on the floor.

“Sir Yuki!? Are you alright?” The Nurses said in chorus and panicked.

Twenty five minutes later

Beside the destroyed ‘Central Airport’…

Harue and the others were walking on the secret path inside the forest, connecting to the lake’s shoreline.

“Hey, everyone! Wait for me. Why are there too many cobwebs?” Harue said as she was trying to catch up with Mr. George, Ms. Julie and Emi#2.

“Please hurry, your highness. We’re almost there.” Ms. Julie said as she and the others looked at Harue.

“Okay! Okay! I’m coming.” Harue said as she sighed and finally managed to remove the cobwebs off her head.

“This way please…” Mr. George said as he shoved the stray plants away from their path.

Mr. George carefully assisted each lady to cross on the huge, fallen tree.

“Your highness, please be careful.” Mr. George said as it was Harue’s turn and carefully helped her.

“Thank you very much. Finally, we’re here. A-Amazing!” Harue said as she and others finally arrived on the lake’s shoreline.

Inside the ‘Central Lake’s shoreline…

“Your highness, this way please.” Mr. George said as he and the others ran onto the field and stopped few meters away from the ‘Lake of Va-al’.

“Your highness, welcome to the ‘Lake of Va-al’. Please look over there. From the ‘Main Island’ those trains will cross to those metal bridges going to other side of the Kingdom.” Ms. Julie said as she welcomed to the lake.

“A-amazing! This is the first time I went to the lake. Look up! The starry night sky is perfectly reflected on the lake. Uh? I wonder where those trains are going to.” Harue exclaimed as she looked at the train that just crossed the bridge.

“Um? They’ve crossed the metal bridge going to the east direction. I think that train is bound to ‘Wathyria’, your highness.” Ms. Julie said as she also looked at the train.

“W-Wow! so, we are living on an island surrounded a lake which is surrounded by another bigger landmass and is also found in the middle of the ocean.” Emi#2 exclaimed as she looked around the shoreline.

“Mr. George! Over here!” Ms. Phoebe, Eito’s Co-Pilot, said as she found Mr. George and the others.

“Ms. Phoebe?! I’m glad that you’re safe. Where is the aerostat?” Mr. George said as Ms. Phoebe ran towards.

“We’re waiting for you. The aerostat is over there. Please follow me…Uh? Why is this little girl staring at me?” Ms. Phoebe said as she wondered and asked Harue.

Ms. Julie noticed that Harue was staring upon Ms. Phoebe’s chests.

“So, Eito likes women with that chest. Huh!? Excuse me?! Who are you calling little girl? I’m ‘Princess’ Harue Matsuoka. We’re in a hurry so please lead us to the place where the aerostat has landed.” Harue said as she ordered Ms. Phoebe.

“Y-Yes! This way, your highness.” Ms. Phoebe said as she flinched and ran away, followed by Ms. Julie, Harue and Emi#2.

Few minutes later…

Ms. Julie and the others arrived on the location where the aerostat has landed. They saw Eito’s two other servants camping and resting five meters away from the huge aerostat.

“Your highness, we are over here.” Mr. George said as he tried to call out Harue and the others.

“That’s Eito’s aerostat? It is huge.” Harue said as she sat on the ground not too far from the open, campfire.

“Yes. That is young master’s second aerostat. He has not named it though.” Mr. George said as he took his butler’s coat and put it around Harue’s shoulders.

“Uh? Thank you. You seem to know Eito very well.” Harue said as Mr. George chuckle.

“Yes. I am his butler since childhood. I also know that he personally wrote a love letter for his special someone.” Mr. George said as Harue blushed and looked at him.

“Eito did that? Really that guy has a special someone. I-I wonder who she is.” Harue said as she got intrigued and looked at Emi#2.

“Ah! I remembered that I saw him sleeping and uttered her name. Her name was – Uh? Her nickname was Rai.” Mr. George said as whispered to Harue.

“What?! She is my ‘Candi-… Uh? W-who was her?” Harue said as she suddenly shouted out, making everyone look at her.

“From what I’ve remember, she was the girl who took your strawberry short cake during the welcome party six months ago and Young Master came to – Eh?! Young master, welcome back!” Mr. George said as he saw Eito and two other ‘Imperial Soldiers’ came out of the forest and emerged behind Harue.

“Eito! You came – I – Uh?” Harue said as she saw Eito and hugged him.

“Your highness?! What are you doing in here?! You should have stayed inside the I.C.H.Q. and not wandering around after what happened tonight. I am – No! I mean the entire Kingdom is relying on you. Why cannot you understand that – Huh?” Eito said as he suddenly grabbed Harue’s arms and yelled at her.

Eito was interrupted by Mr. George who suddenly pinched his cheeks.

“Sir Eito, the ‘Princess’ was the one who suggested this is, so we decided to accompany her. She did this because she was looking out for the other three ‘Candidates’ “Mr. George said as he continued pinching Eito’s cheeks.

“Yes. Your butler is right. Technically, she is doing her job as the ‘Chief-On-Duty’ so you need to calm down,” Ms. Julie said as Eito released Harue’s arms and sighed.

“Uh? I-I am sorry, your highness. I was just worried for your safety.”  Eito said as he kneels down on the ground and apologizes.

“Uh!? It is alright. It is my fault anyway. I aimlessly wandered around after what happened tonight. You’re right! I should get back to the I.C.H.Q. right away. I wish you good luck everyone. Emi#2, let’s’ go.” Harue said as she smiled and walked away from the camping area.

“Your highness? Please wait for me.” Emi#2 said as she ran away, chasing Harue.

“Tch! Please follow her and make sure that she will get back to the I.C.H.Q.” Eito said as he commanded to the other two ‘Imperial Soldiers’ who nodded and immediate ran away, chasing room.

“The aerostat is ready, young master. Shall we leave for tonight?” Ms. Phoebe said as she asked Eito.

“Thank you for taking care of my aerostat but I’ve decided that we are going to leave tomorrow morning.” Eito said as he sat on the ground and sighed.

“Then, I will immediately prepare your sleeping tent.” Mr. George said as he ran away and went inside the aerostat.

After 10 minutes, Mr. George went out carrying a big backpack full of supplies on his back. He starts setting Eito’s sleeping tent two meters away from the open, campfire.

“I’m Eito Yoshiyuki, the captain of that aerostat. It is nice to meet you, Ms.?” Eito said as he tried to ignore what happened earlier and introduced himself to Ms. Julie.

“I’m Ms. Julie Kazama, the Headmaster of the ‘Artisans’ Guild’. It is nice to meet you.” Ms. Julie said as she also introduced herself.

“You’re the Headmaster of – I would like to apologize for the late introduction, your highness.” Eito said as he apologized.

“Mrs. Mai asked me to pick up the remaining three ‘Candidates’ before the actual ‘Presentation Day’ tomorrow night.” Ms. Julie said as she told Eito.

 “Tch! What have I done? Her highness is probably mad at me.” Eito said as he groaned while looking up in the sky.

“What you did was mean. She was about to cry but she chose to smile instead.” Ms. Julie said as she sat beside Eito, also warming up herself to the open fire.

“I know. It’s just that – I’m sorry. I am not really good at expressing my thoughts.” Eito sadly said as he looked at the fire.

“Then, you should apologize when we got back. We saw a train bound to ‘Wathyria’ earlier so I suggest that we should head to ‘Wathyria’ first.” Ms. Julie said as she stood up and stretched out her arms.

“Young Master, I’ve finished preparing your sleeping tent. You can now rest – Eh? What are you doing?” Mr. George said as he approached Eito and saw Ms. Julie went inside Eito’s sleeping tent.

“Good night, your highness. I will just sleep outside. Rest well, Mr. George.” Eito said as he sighed and smiled at Mr. George.

“What? No! I cannot allow you to do that – Uh? As you wish, young Master.” Mr. George said as he gave up and went inside his sleeping tent which was prepared earlier by Ms. Phoebe.

Eito lied down on the ground, looking up on the starry night sky while also that night, Harue and Emi#2 arrived safely back at the I.C.H.Q.

The next day…

Along the streets of the ‘Trading District’…

“Good morning, madam. May I ask you a question?” Eito said as he and Ms. Julie stopped in to ask directions to a female butler who was waiting outside a bakery.

“Oh my! Welcome to ‘Wathyria’, ‘Iytherian’ child. Yes. What is it?” Ms. Georgia said as she turned around and saw Eito and Ms. Julie.

“Indeed! I’m from ‘Iytheria’. How did you know that?” Eito exclaimed as he asked Ms. Georgia.

“Uh? We rarely have ‘Iytherians’ visiting in our place since your ‘Village’ is on the far west side of the Kingdom and unless they owned an aerostat. Anyway, what is your question?” Ms. Georgia said as she asked Eito.

“Ah! Yes. Can you tell us where the Hamasaki Family lives? We are here to pick up – Eh? Kenji, is that you?” Eito said as he saw Kenji went out of the bakery, carrying a big, woven basket full of freshly baked breads.

“I’m sorry I took too long. Eh? Eito?! What are you doing in here?” Kenji said as he saw Eito standing in front of him and got startled.

“Good morning, Kenji. It is nice to see you again.” Eito said as he smiled.

“Eh? A-Amazing! How did you know that I am not my big brother?” Kenji exclaimed as he asked Eito.

“Uh? Even though you are twins, you are slightly taller than your big brother.” Eito said as he stares at Kenji.

“Uh? Thank you.” Kenji said as he smirked and then giggled.

“Master Kenji, is he an acquaintance of yours?” Mr. Georgia said as she asked Kenji.

“Ah! Yes. Ms. Georgia, may I introduce to you Mr. Eito Yoshiyuki, he’s one of my former colleagues back in the ‘Academy’. Eito, she is Ms. Georgia, our female Head Butler.” Kenji said as he introduces Ms. Georgia to Eito.

“Hello! I’m Eito Yoshiyuki of the ‘Upper Knights’. Beside me is Ms. Julie Kazama, the Headmaster of the ‘Artisans’ Guild’. It is my pleasure to meet you – Uh? Is there something wrong?” Eito said as he introduced himself and Ms. Julie to Kenji and Ms. Georgia who stared at him.

“Headmaster Julie?! I’m Kenji Hamasaki, one of the Hamasaki Twins. It is an honor to meet you.” Kenji said as he introduced himself.

“Yoshiyuki? That last name seems familiar to me. Eh!? Oh no! He is probably in here. Please follow me.” Ms. Georgia said as she flinched and immediately walked away from everyone.

“Eh? Ms. Georgia, wait for me. Uh? I thought that the ‘Iytherian Reps’ were the ones who will pick up my big brother later this afternoon. I wonder what happened.” Kenji said as he wondered.

“We will explain it later. We really need to leave. Someone is observing us behind that seafood shop.” Ms. Julie said as she informed Eito and Kenji.

“I-Immediately your highness. Please follow me.” Kenji said as he walked away, followed by Eito and Ms. Julie.

Fifteen Minutes later

Inside the Living room…

Kenji, Ms. Georgia and their guests arrived at the Hamasaki’s’ Residence.

“Welcome back, everyone. Kenji, did you bring those strawberry-flavored croissants – Eh!? Eito? What are you doing in here?” Kazuki said as he welcomed Kenji, Mr. Georgia and their guests.

Kazuki was waiting for Kenji and Ms. Georgia in the living room.

“We’re back. I brought your croissants, and we have some guests.” Kenji said as Kazuki suspiciously looked at Eito and Ms. Julie.

“I will bring these back at the kitchen. Master Kazuki and Kenji, please attend our guests.” Mr. Georgia said as she took the woven basket from Kenji and went out of the kitchen.

“Uh?! Alright! We got this. Please have a seat, everyone.” Kenji said as he nodded and guided Eito and Ms. Julie onto the left sofa.

“Long time, no see Kazuki.” Eito said he sat on the sofa beside Ms. Julie while Kenji sat beside big brother.

“Yeah. What are you doing in here? I thought you’re back in ’Iytheria’ to rescue the ‘Iytherian Reps.’.” Kazuki said as he wondered and asked Eito.

“Yes. We did rescue them but after that they started a coup d’état in the ‘Main Island’ last night.” Eito said as he told Kazuki and Kenji.

“What?! A coup d’état?! The ‘Princess’ – What happened to the ‘Princess’? Is she alright?!” Kazuki said as he shouted out and asked Eito.

“Yes. Her highness is alright but seven out of the twelve ‘Village Reps’ got injured and half of the ‘Central Airport’ has been destroyed.” Eito said as he continued to tell Kazuki and Kenji what happened last night. 

“Half of the ‘Council’ members were injured, and the ‘Central Airport’ is what?! But the ‘Candidates’ Presentation’ is tonight. What are we going to do?” Kenji said as he got worried and wondered.

“Her highness wants to assure the safety of the remaining ‘Candidates’ so she asked us to pick up Kazuki and the other two back in ‘Fireiya’. Do you still have the invitation letter and those three feathers?” Ms. Julie said as she asked Kazuki.

“Feathers? Oh that! I still have those back at my desk inside my room. Please wait in here. I will get it – Eh?! Mother?” Kazuki said as Ms. Sally went downstairs while carrying a silver tray.

“I already went downstairs earlier but when I overheard your conversation, I went back upstairs to bring you these.” Mrs. Sally said as she walked towards everyone and presented the silver tray.

On the top of the silver tray, there was the invitation letter and the three feathers.

“We also apologize for barging in like this. These feathers are the proof that Kazuki is one of the ‘Council’s Candidates’ or maybe the ‘Princess’ chosen Candidate.’ Who knew, right?” Ms. Julie said as she gently picked up both the envelope and feathers.

“We need to leave immediately. The other two ‘Candidates’ are probably waiting for us back in their ‘Village’.” Ms. Julie said as she hides the envelope and feathers on her right, chest pocket and stood up.

“I understand. I will ask Ms. Georgia to prepare my children’s suitcases.” Mrs. Sally said as Kazuki and Kenji looked at each other wondering what their mother just said.

“I understand. Eito let’s go. We will wait outside.” Ms. Julie said as she and Eito walked away and went out of the living room.

“Mother, does that mean -?” Kenji said as he asked his mother.

“Yes. You’re right. You and Ms. Georgia are coming with Kazuki to the ‘Main Island’. Your big brother needs you.” Ms. Sally said as she tousled Kenji’s hair.

“But I have other things to do – Alright! Just this once.” Kenji said as he pouted and smiled.

“That’s my boy. Your Father and I will not join you in trip because the ‘117^th Wathyrian Armada’ came back to the ‘Port of Cereza’ last night.” Ms. Sally said as she told her children.

“The ‘Armada´ came back last night? So, that’s the reason why Father left so early this morning.” Kazuki said as Ms. Sally pinched his cheeks.

“Now, get ready, your highness. Your Fortress needs you.” Ms. Sally said as she tousled Kazuki’s hair.

Kenji looked away as he tries not to be jealous.

“But I am not the new, ‘Imperial Ruler’ yet. Don’t worry! I will make you proud, mother.” Kazuki proudly said as Ms. Sally giggled.

“Alright! Alright! We need to get ready, your highness. So, come with me.” Kenji said as he got annoyed and dragged Kazuki upstairs.

After 30 minutes, Eito’s team with their guests the Hamasaki Twins and Ms. Georgia left the ‘Village of Wathyria’. Their aerostat is now bound to ‘Fireiya’.

Kazuki and Kenji were playing chess on the gaming area while Eito and Ms. Julie are resting at the lounge area.

“Another win, Yes!” The overjoyed Kenji said as he won against Kazuki on their chess game.

“Damn it! Another checkmate. I should’ve not brought this useless manual.” Kazuki said as he took the manual on how to play chess for beginners, opened it and shove it onto his face.

“That’s lame. You already cheated yet you still lose.” Eito said as he gently closed his favorite book after he finished reading it and placed it on the top of the glass table.

“Huh?! As if you can beat me in chess. I bet you even don’t know how the pawn moves.” Kazuki said as he smirked and taunted Eito.

“Are you challenging me in a chess game?” Eito seriously said as he stood up and stretched out his arms, making Mr. George flinched.

Eito walked away and went to the gaming area; Kenji sighed and stood up from his seat which Eito took over and then Mr. George starts arranging the chess pieces on the top of its wooden board.

“Master Kazuki will have the black pieces while white pieces will go to Master Eito. I am Mr. George, and I am going to be the moderator of this game. Ready, set, start!” Mr. George said as their chess game begins.

“Uh? I think this game will end in a disaster.” Kenji said as he sighed.

“Congratulations, Master Kenji. That is your 17^th win against Master Kazuki.” Mr. Georgia said as he approached Kenji and congratulated him.

“Thank you. Uh? Was it true that Mr. George is your younger brother? I-I accidentally overheard your conversation earlier while you are loading out stuff inside the aerostat.” Kenji said as he got intrigued and asked Ms. Georgia.

“Uh? Yes. it is true, Master Kenji. Ah! I almost forgot. Madam asked me to give you these.” Mr. Georgia said as she gave Kenji his book of music sheets and Mr. Charlie’s journal.

“Thank you! I-I thought I’ve lost this book of music sheets and I-I am not done reading this book as well.” Kenji said as he suddenly grabbed the book and journal away from Ms. Georgia.

“Y-your welcome, Master Kenji.” Ms. Georgia said as she got surprised from Kenji’s actions.

“Here is your black coffee with two sugar cubes, your highness.” Eito’s maid #1 said as she arrived inside the suite and served the coffee to Ms. Julie.

“Thank you.” Ms. Julie said as she stretched out her arms and stood up.

Ms. Julie gently picked the cup of coffee up the glass table, walked away and looked outside the huge, glass windows.

“Ah! It is a peaceful day. Too peaceful that something might – Eh? What is that?” Ms. Julie said as she almost spits out her coffee after seeing another unidentified flying machine, 3 meters away from their aerostat.

“Ms. Julie, are you alright? W-what is that?” Eito exclaimed as he also saw the same unidentified flying machine approaching their aerostat.

Standing inside, the unidentified flying machine that looks like a ‘hot-air balloon’ were three children or ‘Living Fiends’ laughing and started throwing rotten fruits and vegetables onto Eito’s aerostat.

“Hey! What are you doing?” Kenji said as he shouted out.

“Um? Is that a young child? Or a young ‘Green Ogre’? A ‘Green Ogre’? Wait! Are we now passing above the ‘Unearthed Caves?” Ms. Julie said as she stares at the three children and recognized one of the as a ‘Green Ogre’.

“Probably. I’ve heard rumors that every aerostat that passed by in this area has seen that same unidentified flying machine. Don’t worry. Those three children were just trying to get our attention and eventually will fly away.” Eito said as he was trying to think a strategy for his next turn.

“Hey, less talk more action. It is your turn.” Kazuki said as he pouted and crossed his arms.

“Master Kazuki, what you just did is an illegal move. Please refer to your manual on how the ‘Knight´ black piece moves.” Mr. George said as he gave the manual to Kazuki.

“Um? Ms. Georgia, can I borrow your musket?” Kenji said as he sighed and asked Ms. Georgia.

“Yes, you can Master Kenji.” Ms. Georgia said as she gave his musket to

Kenji gave the music sheets and Mr. Charlie’s journal to Ms. Georgia; he grabbed the musket and opened the emergency window while inside the suite.

“K-Kenji? What are you doing?” Ms. Julie said as the strong wind blew inside the suite and asked Kenji.

Kenji placed the musket outside the glass window; he aimed it to the ‘Hot-air balloon’ and fired. The bullet hit and popped up a hole onto the balloon. The unidentified flying machine slowly descends onto to the ground and landed inside the forest.

“Nice aim.” Ms. Julie said as she immediately closed the window and tousled Kenji’s hair.

“Excellent aim, Master Kenji!” Ms. Georgia exclaimed as she clapped her hands.

“Thank you, your highness.” Kenji said as he smiled and gave the musket back to Ms. Georgia.

“Hm? You were trembling earlier. I wonder why.” Kazuki said as he was thinking a strategy on his next turn.

“Sadly, I am not familiar using a musket, so I aimed at the balloon instead.” Kenji said as he and Ms. Georgia went to the gaming area and watched Kazuki and Eito’s chess game.

Five Minutes later…

“Alright! That’s enough. Master Eito won the first round by a checkmate.” Mr. George said as he announced the winner of their chess game.

“You deserved it anyway.” Eito said as he smirked and chuckled.

“As I expected, congratulations, Master Eito. That is your 20^th winning streak.” Mr. George said as he starts rearranging the white chess pieces.

“No!!! How? Why?” Kazuki said as he shouted out and slammed the manual on the floor.

“Wow. Big brother got defeated in just five minutes. That’s a new record. Congratulations.” Kenji sarcastically said and clapped his hands.

“Congratulations, Master Kazuki. That is your 18^th losing streak. Better luck next time.” Ms. Georgia said as she gave Kenji back his music sheet and Mr. Charlie’s journal.

“How about Kenji’s losing streak?!” Kazuki said as he pouted and asked Ms. Georgia.

“Actually, I do not have a losing streak in chess. It is 17 wins and no loses so far.” Kenji boastfully said as he answered Kazuki’s question.

“Hm? Interesting. 17 wins is not bad, but it tempts me to destroy that clean record.” Eito said as he smirked and taunted Kenji.

“Eh? As if I would let you defeat me.” Kenji seriously said as he sighed.

“Hey! W-what are you doing?” Kazuki said as Kenji approached him.

Kenji gently pushed Kazuki off the seat and sat on his place, across Eito on the gaming table; Kenji gave the music sheet and journal back to Ms. Georgia while Mr. George gently rotates the chess board on the gaming table.

“For the Round 2, Master Eito will have the black pieces while the white pieces will go to Master Kenji. Ready, set…Start!” Mr. George said as he shouted out and their chess game begins.

Inside the forest…

The same unidentified flying machine crashed inside the forest and got stuck above an old, oak tree.

“Over here!  I saw the machine crashed in here. Your highnesses! Are you alright?” The first Guard ‘Green Ogre’ said as he and his other two buddies found the unidentified flying machine above the tree.

“Uh? We’re alright – Ahhh!” The young, ‘Green Ogre’ said as he and the other two children slowly woke up and then accidentally slipped and fell on the ground.

“Your highnesses! Are you alright?” The second Guard ‘Green Ogre’ said as he approached the younger ‘Green Ogre’.

“Y-yes. I am alright. Where is Nerisia? Nerisia!?” Sammy, the eldest ‘Green Ogre’, said as he suddenly stood up and looked for Nerisia.

“I’m here, big brother. Don’t worry! I’m alright.” Nerisia, Sammy’s little sister, said as she stood up and dusted off her jumpsuit.

“There you are! I was worried about you. Now, I wonder Mother has landed. Where are you, mother?” Sammy said as he yelled out inside in the forest.

“I am behind you, my children.” The older, female ‘Green Ogre’ said as she stood up and stretched her arms.

“There you are, Mother. We’re so worried about you.” Sammy said as he and Nerisia ran towards and hugged her. 

“Aw! Look at our prototype aerostat, it got destroyed. Now, what should we do?” Ms. Pericia, ‘Chief of the Green Ogres’, said as she and her two children looked above the oak tree.

“Don’t worry, mother. Nerisia and I will help the others on fixing it. Right, Nerisia? Uh?’ Sammy cheerfully said as he crossed his arms and looked at Nerisia.

“Neri is tired. Neri is sleepy.” Nerisia said as she yawned aloud.

“Come on, Nerisia. You promised to help me. Hey, wake up! Wake up!” Sammy said as he sighed and then Ms. Pericia gently lifted Nerisia off the ground and let her sleep onto her right shoulder.

“Mother is also tired. Let’s all go back to our cave.” Ms. Pericia said as she carried Nerisia and walked away.

“But Mother? Alright! You go on ahead. I will just help the Guards to pull our prototype aerostat off the tree.” Sammy said as he ran away from Ms. Pericia.

“Sammy? Wait! You don’t have to -…” Ms. Pericia said as she tried to stop Sammy, but he already got away.

“Ah! We finally arrived. My cutie Nerisia is also here to welcome us – Nope. She is asleep.” King Philip, the ‘King of Elves’ said as he and his wife arrived at Ms. Pericia’s location.

“Darling, please be quite or else she will wake up.” Queen Faeya, the ‘Yellow Queen’, said as she was riding on a white stallion, guided by her husband.

“Queen Faeya?! W-why are you also here? You’re six-months pregnant and should be resting back in the ‘Mystic Garden.’” Ms. Pericia said as she got worried and ran towards Queen Faeya.

“I know but my silly husband asked me to come because he does not know how to read the map you sent for us to get in here.” Queen Faeya said as she giggled, making King Philip flinched.

“Y-You don’t have to say that. Anyway, where is – Eh? It’s been a while, Mr. Terry.” King Philip said as he pouted and crossed his arms.

A skeletonized, right arm suddenly sprang out of the ground and grabbed King Philip’s left foot; Mr. Terry, the ‘Leader of the White Skeletons’, slowly dug his way up on the surface, followed by Vanny who also sprang out beside him.

“Since we’re crawling underground, we’re unable to read the map Ms. Pericia sent to us.”  Mr. Terry said as he jumped up the hole and dusted off his cloak.

“I would like to apologize, Mr. Terry. Sammy was the one who drew your map and I forgot to include that on my letter.” Ms. Perisia said as Mr. Terry gently tilted his skeletonized head to the right.

“It is alright. So, are we the last ones to arrive?” Mr. Terry said as he approached Ms. Pericia and gently tousled Nirisia’s hair.

“Nope. Alphe and his wife haven’t arrived yet. Oh! Speaking of the devil, we’re here! Over here.” King Philip said as he shouted out while inside the forest.

“You don’t have to shout.

I’m sorry. We’re late.”

Mr. Alphe, the ‘Alpha of the Black Hounds’, said as he was telepathically communicating with King Philip; Mr. Alphe and his wife, the ‘Gray Hound’, Avia magically emerged from the shadows and walked towards the others.

“My apologies! I wonder what took you so long.” King Philip said as he chuckled and wondered.

“I have to make sure that

My pups are safe before we left.”

Mr. Alphe, said as he was telepathically communicating with King Philip.

“Ah! I almost forgot. The other, three ‘Living Fiends’ already sent me a letter in advance, saying that that they could not attend this emergency meeting.” Ms. Pericia said as she walked away from everyone and went to their ‘Cave’ not far from their current location.

“Alright! Let’s follow her.” King Philip said as he gently pulled the string and guided the white stallion forward while the others followed her as well.

Two Hours later

In ‘Fireiya’…

Eito’s aerostat arrived at ‘Fireiya’ but their unexpected arrival created panic to employees working in the sub-airport. After it mysteriously landed, a ‘Fireiyan´ suddenly ran away to ask for help.

“Rai, somebody’s at the door. Can you get it for me?” Ms. Marie said as she was washing the dishes and called Rai.

“Yes, immediately mother.” Rai said as she carefully downstairs and opened the front door.

Rai opened the front door and saw Hikaru waiting outside while carrying a small, woven basket full of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.

“Good morning. Hikaru? What you are doing in here?” Rai cheerfully said as she asked Hikaru.

“G-Good morning! My younger sister, Mikan, requested me to bring this for you – I mean to your mother for the cookies she gave to her yesterday. “Hikaru said as he blushed and gave the basket to Rai.

“Oh? Is that so? Then, thank you. Please come in – Eh?” Rai said as Hikaru sighed and suddenly grabbed both of her hands.

Hikaru gently pushed Rai towards him, and the basket fell on the floor.

“Would you come with me to the ‘Main Island’?” Hikaru shyly said as he blushed and asked Rai.

“Huh!? To the ‘Main Island’? But why would I come with you?”” Rai shyly said as she blushed and looked away from Hikaru.

“B-Because, I want to you be on my side during the ‘Presentation’ tonight.” Hikaru said as he suddenly hugged Rai.

“Huh?! The ‘Presentation’ will happen tonight? I should’ve read the letter thoroughly last night. Wait! Are you also one of the ‘Councils’ Candidates’?” Rai said as she used the basket to gently push Hikaru away from her.

“Yes! I received a letter and three feathers from the ‘Fire Bird’ who delivered it to me yesterday. I know that this is a selfish request but please come with me to the ‘Main Island.’” Hikaru seriously said as he requested to Rai.

“Uh? Listen, Hikaru…I also received an envelope – Eh? Father?” Rai said as she turned around and saw her father standing beside her.

“’Elope’ Tonight?’ Am I interrupting something?” Mr. Shuichi said as he popped out of nowhere while casually drinking his morning coffee.

Hikaru and Rai looked and gently pushed away each from each; They are both blushing as Mr. Shuichi suspiciously stared at them.

“Hey, lover boy. I will never stop reminding you that – Uh? to be frank, I really do not want you for my daughter. She’ll be better off single rather than being married to a family of traitors.” Mr. Shuichi said as he casually sips his coffee.

“Father, please stop that. And – Wait! So, you want me to be single forever?” Rai said as she pouted and asked her father.

“Of course not! Well, if that’s what you want then, I will respect your decision.” Mr. Shuichi said as he hugged his daughter.

“If I were to become the next ‘Imperial Ruler and Hero’, will you give us you're blessing then?” Hikaru seriously said as he taunted Mr. Shuichi.

“Eh? Let’s see, as if that silly dream of yours would happen. I would rather die than seeing you becoming the next ‘Imperial Hero.’” Mr. Shuichi said as he laughs out.

“There you are, Darling! Oh my! Hikaru, good morning.” Mrs. Marie said as she went downstairs and intentionally stepped on her husband’s right foot.

“Good morning, madam. I came in here to give you this – Where the heck is the basket?” Hikaru said as he mumbled, trying to find the basket.

“Mother, Mikan sent these cookies for you.” Rai said as she gave the basket to her mother.

“Thank you. Let me see that.” Mr. Shuichi said as he suddenly seized the basket away from his wife.

“Please tell Mikan that I would be glad if she could share her cookie recipe to me. Come with me, Darling. We still have a lot of household chores to do.” Mrs. Marie said as she suddenly dragged her husband away and went upstairs.

 “Yes. I will. I will be returning this afternoon to pick you up, milady.” Hikaru cheerfully said as he flicked Rai’s forehead.

“Huh?! Wait – Hikaru! There is something I want to tell you – Uh?” Rai said as she suddenly grabbed Hikaru’s right arm to stop him.

“Uh? What is it?” Hikaru said as he wondered and asked Rai.

“Everyone, please help us! An unidentified aerostat has landed at the sub-Airport, and it has been 20 minutes since it landed but not even the co-pilot went out to show us their official travel permits.” ‘Fireiyan’ #1 said as he ran along the streets and shouted out.

“An invasion! Rai, let’s go and help them.” Hikaru said as he suddenly grabbed Rai’s right hand and ran away.

“Huh?! Hikaru – Wait!” Rai said as she and Hikaru ran away.

Hikaru and Rai arrived on the sub-airport and carelessly went inside Eito’s aerostat and started a fight with the three ‘Imperial Soldiers’ that was guarding the aerostat and gently pulled Ms. Phoebe out of the cockpit. They all ran and went to the 1^st class suite.

Meanwhile

Inside the 1^st Class Suite…

“Uh? Now what?” Kazuki said as he, Ms. Julie, Ms. Georgia and Mr. George looked at the chess board.

“Round 2 is over. It is a deuce!” Mr. George said as he concluded and announced in front of everyone.

“What?!” Everyone said in chorus as they were all shocked from what they just heard.

“Well, we cannot do anything about that. I just wished that Ms. Rai is here to watch me play – Huh?!” Eito said as he was interrupted by the alarm that rang inside the suite

Hikaru suddenly kicked the door and went inside the 1^st class suite followed by Rai and Ms. Phoebe.

“Don’t move or else I will kill her – Eh?! Eito?! What are you doing in here?” Hikaru exclaimed as he and Rai saw Eito and the others looking back at them.

“H-Hikaru? Why did nobody told me that we’re already landed in ‘Fireiya’?” Eito said as he shouted out, scaring Rai who suddenly hide behind Hikaru.

“I was about to, young Master. But Ms. Julie asked me to go back in the cockpit instead.” Ms. Julie said she finally managed to push Hikaru away from her.

“Ha! My plan worked. Everyone was so focused watching on the chess game that you completely forgot our mission.” Ms. Julie said as she smirked and crossed her arms.

“Now, I understand why there are only eight apprentices.” Kazuki said as he sighed and looked at Ms. Julie.

“Now, we don’t have to get off the aerostat. Hey! Hikaru, where are the letter and those three feathers?” Ms. Julie said as she approached Hikaru and Rai.

“Uh? Who are you? How did you know my name?” Hikaru said as he gently stepped back, protecting Rai and asked Ms. Julie.

“Lower your weapon, Soldier. Well, you’re mostly sleeping during my class, so I bet you didn’t recognize me at all.” Ms. Julie said as she sighed and smiled.

“Ah! I remember you. She’s Ms. Julie Kazama, she was our Geography teacher.” Rai said as she tells Hikaru.

“I’m so glad that Ms. Akimura still remembers my name unlike this idiot.” Ms. Julie said as she pats Rai’s right shoulder.

“Uh? Really? Did we have Geography classes before?” Hikaru innocently said he wondered and asked Rai.

“Of course, we had!” Rai, Eito, Kazuki and Kenji said as they yelled at Hikaru.

“Anyway, Hikaru, give me the letter and feathers.” Ms. Julie said as she ordered Hikaru.

“Ah, yes! The letter and feathers. I think my mother put those inside my coat pocket last night.” Hikaru said as he searched inside his coat pockets.

“The letter and feathers? Ah! I also have those.” Rai said as she also began searching inside her coat pockets.

Few minutes later, Hikaru and Rai both found their letters and feathers and then presented those to Ms. Julie.

“Finally, we’ve found the last two ‘Candidates’. May I present Mr. Hikaru and Ms. – Rai Akimura from ‘Fireiya’.” Ms. Julie said as she gently pushed Hikaru and Rai towards the gaming area.

“Oh? Her name is Rai? Wait! I’ve heard that name somewhere else before. Was that the name of my former master’s daughter?” Kazuki whispered to himself while looking at Rai.

“What!? You’re also one of the ‘Councils’ Candidates’?! Why did you not tell me?” Hikaru said in disbelief. He suddenly grabbed Rai’s shoulder and started shaking her.

“I was about to tell your earlier, but you suddenly dragged me out of house and went in here. Please stop shaking me.” Rai said as Hikaru stopped shaking her.

“Alright! Now, the other three ‘Candidates’ are here, let’s go back to the ‘Main Island.” Ms. Julie cheerfully said as she walked away from Hikaru and Rai.

“Huh? We’re leaving? I-I thought that the ‘Iytherian Reps.’ were supposed to pick up us later this afternoon. What happened?” Hikaru said as he and Rai wondered.

“The ‘Iytherian Reps’ started a coup d’état last night.” Eito said as he looked at Hikaru and Rai.

“A coup d’état?! Is everyone alright? What happened to the ‘Princess’?” Hikaru said as he shouted out and asked Eito.

“Half of the ‘Village Reps’ were injured, and the ‘Central Airport’ was destroyed. Don’t worry. The ‘Princess’ is safe and she’s back at the I.C.H.Q.” Kenji said as he continued Eito’s bad news.

“Her highness wants to assure the safety of the remaining ‘Candidates’ so she asked us to pick up Kazuki and you two as well. Um? Hikaru, I think you mistakenly gave me your love letter.” Ms. Julie said as she examined and presented Eito’s love letter to everyone.

“Uh? Young Master, was that your love letter for Ms.- Eh!? Where are you going?” Mr. George said as Eito flinched and stood up from his seat.

Eito recognized his letter and calmly approached Ms. Julie; He suddenly took the white envelope out of her hand and hide it inside his chest pocket.

“Ahem! We will explain later Anyway, how did you get in here? There are three ‘Imperial Soldiers’ guarding the entrance door.” Eito said as he ignored Ms. Julie and Hikaru and asked Rai.

“Ah, yes! Your unexpected arrival created panic to employees working in the sub-airport. So, they ran back to the ‘Village’ and asked for our help. They are currently waiting for us outside the aerostat.” Rai said as she told everyone.

“I-Is that so? Then, Ms. Phoebe, Ms. Julie and Mr. George come with me.” Eito said as he suddenly goes out of the suite, followed by Mr. George and Ms. Phoebe.

“Eh? Why also me?” Ms. Julie said as she sighed and followed Eito outside the suite.

“Just follow me!” Eito shouted out as he and the others waited for Ms. Julie outside the suite.

“Young Master, are you alright? Eh? Your nose is bleeding.” Ms. Phoebe said as she ran away and went to the infirmary room to get the first aid kit.

Inside the I.C.H.Q.

Ten feet above the courtyard…

“Your highnesses! Over here, please look up.” The first ‘Imperial Soldier’ said he, Harue, Emi #2, Mr. Akito, Mrs. Mai and Ms. Akari were running and stopped inside the front yard.

“Is that an aerostat? Wait! Eito and others are back!” Harue exclaimed as the Imperial Soldier looked at her.

“Finally! Your highness and Ms. Akari please stay in here while Mr. Akito and I will go to the Main Infirmary room to inform the other ‘Village Reps.’” Mrs. Mai said as she and Mr. Akito ran away and went back inside the I.C.H.Q.

“Your highness, please stand back.” The first ‘Imperial Soldier’ said as he gently pulled Harue away from the aerostat.

“We are back, your highness.” Ms. Julie said as Harue suddenly ran towards her.

“Eito - Ahem! Welcome back, everyone. I am glad you are all safe.” Harue said as she welcomed Ms. Julie and the others.

“Mr. Yoshiyuki, I want to like apologize from what happened earlier.” Rai said as she and Eito arrived behind Ms. Julie.

“Mr.? Ah! Please call me Eito. You don’t have to apologize, Ms. Rai. It is Hikaru’s fault why that happened to me.” Eito said as he blushed and chuckled.

“I-I’m sorry I didn’t mean to throw up on your shirt, again. I-It’s just that some of us always feel nauseous few minutes after the aerostat has left the sub-airport.” Hikaru said as he and Ms. Georgina arrived behind Eito and

“Get this stupid Soldier to the Main Infirmary room, immediately!” Ms. Julie said as she got annoyed and ordered the ‘Imperial Soldier’.

“See you later, milady.” Hikaru said as he smiled at Rai.

“Alright! I will wait for you at the Grand Hall.” Rai cheerfully said as her response, making Hikaru blush.

Ms. Georgina, Ms. Julie and the Imperial Soldier all ran away and went inside the I.C.H.Q.

“Uh? A-Anyway, Welcome back, Eito! What is that weird odor?” Harue said as she suddenly ran and hugged Eito.

“I-I will be back, your highness. Where are you, Mr. George?” Eito said as he gently pushed Harue away from him and suddenly ran away.

 “Hurry! You should really change your clothes before someone sees you. Uh? Who is this midget?” Kazuki said as he, Kenji and Ms. Georgia were the last ones to arrive behind Rai.

“Huh?! Excuse me, this midget was the one who defeated you in the last ‘Field Traning’. I cannot believe that the ‘Council’ has chosen you to be their ‘Candidate’.” Harue said as she smirked and crossed her arms.

“Please stop, Big brother. What she said is the truth. Good afternoon, your highness.” Kenji said as he gently pulled Kazuki away from Harue.

“Good afternoon, Kenji. The ‘Council’ must be mistaken for not choosing you as their ‘Candidate’.” Harue cheerfully said as Kenji smiles and Kazuki yawns while in front of Harue

“Thank you, your highness. But before that let’s change first.” Kenji said as he dragged Kazuki away from everyone.

“Hey! I don’t want to wear that damn suit! – Hey! Are you listening to me?” Kazuki said as he tried to stop Kenji, but it was useless.

Kenji and Kazuki, followed by Ms. Georgia, went inside the I.C.H.Q.

“You!” Rai and Harue said as they yelled and looked at each other.

“I’m glad that you’ve received my letter.” Harue said as she looked at Rai.

“So, you’re the one who sent me that second letter. Why would you do that?” Rai said as she got angry and asked Harue.

“Ha! Consider this as your punishment for stealing my cake.” Harue said as she pouted and crossed her arms.

“What? I stole -? Unbelievable! That was six months ago. I thought you already forgot that.” Rai said as she crossed her arms.

“We will continue this conversation inside my room. Emi, get her suitcase and bring it to my room. Let’s go!’ Harue said as she suddenly grabbed Rai’s right hand and dragged her away.

In the I.C.H.Q.

Inside Harue’s room…

“So, let me get this straight, you want me to become your chosen ‘Candidate’ for tonight’s ‘Presentation’?” Rai said in disbelief while she was sitting on the right side of Harue’s bed and asked Harue.

Harue was sitting on a chair in front of her big, vanity mirror while Emi#2 is gently combing her hair.

“Yes! Why could you not understand that?” Harue said as she stood up and crossed her arms.

“Wait! Why would choose me? Why me?” Rai said as got confused and asked Harue.

“Uh? After you helped me back at the welcome party, I-I considered you as my friend that would help me again.” Harue seriously said as she sat beside Rai on the right side of the bed.

“But this is a different case – Uh? You considered me, a witch as your f-friend? T-thank you. Uh! Okay. Let’s all calm down. What exactly I am going to do?” Rai said as she gave up and sighed.

“I knew it! I knew it! Thank you! Thank you for helping me. Um? You’re probably a little different but for me you are not a witch. I also envy your long, jet-black colored hair.” Harue cheerfully said as she hugged Rai.

“I-I didn’t exactly say that I am going to help you. Anyway, I’m pretty sure that the ‘Council’ will not choose me as the next ‘Imperial Ruler’.” Rai said as she blushed and gently pushed Harue away.

“Emi! Please bring that official document to me.” Harue said as she ordered Emi#2.

“As you wish, your highness.” Emi #2 said as she gently picked the one unfolded parchment paper, two white feathers and a small bottle of black ink up the table and presented it to Harue.

Harue dragged Rai and sat on the floor while Emi#2 carefully laid the writing materials between them.

“This is the official document prepared by the 12 ‘Village Reps’ themselves. Now, I want you sign in here beside my signature so that I can make you my official, chosen ‘Candidate’ for the ‘Presentation’.” Harue said as she showed Rai the letter.

“Oh my, there are even 12 signatures on this document. Then, what?” Rai said as she got suspicious and carefully read the letter.

“Then, after you signed, you can keep that as a souvenir.” Harue said as she dipped the tip of the feather onto the black ink and gave it to Rai.

“What!? Souvenir?! We should give this back to the ‘Council’.” Rai said as she gently grabbed the feather from Harue.

“I know but – Um? This morning, I visited my big brother Hiiro in the Main Infirmary room and he said that he heard rumors that whoever the ‘Council’ choose among the other four candidates will be automatically crowned the new, ‘Imperial Ruler’ tonight. He also said that they just wanted me to present my ‘Candidate’ to make it an official event.” Harue sadly said as she gently grabbed the short, white envelope.

“Uh? So, they want to treat us like a mannequin being displayed inside the boutique. How typical of them. But what if they asked you to give this document? What would do then?” Rai said as she got angry and hesitant to sign the document.

“Yes. I didn’t think about that but you said it yourself, the ‘Council’ will not even choose you so this official document will be useless anyway.” Harue said as she looked at Rai.

“Uh? Yeah. You’re right. Why would they even choose a witch to lead this Kingdom?” Rai sadly said as she got finished signing the document.

“You signed it? Finally! Okay! Harue, calm down. What is the next step? Ah! Emi, do you swear not to tell anyone what you’ve witnessed inside this room?” Harue said as she panicked and asked Emi.

“In the name of her highness, I swear not to tell a single soul what happened today even it costs my life.” Emi said as she swore in front of Harue and Rai and then smiled.

“Okay. Then, I will carefully just fold this.” Harue said as she gently picked up the parchment paper, fold it into three parts and put it inside the short, white envelope.

After that Emi#2 gave her the gold-colored wax and used it to seal the envelope.

“Here. Keep this.” Harue said as she gave the envelope to Rai.

“Uh. Okay. Now, what should we do?” Rai said as she gently took the envelope and reached for her suitcase.

Rai opened her suitcase; she took a small notebook out and carefully hid the envelope inside it. Harue got curious and crawled towards to see what’s inside her suitcase.

“You are not wearing that old, torn dress for the ‘Presentation’. Come with me.” Harue said as she grabbed Rai’s hand and went to her first wardrobe.

“Eh? But my father tried his best to stitch that up.” Rai said as Harue opened the wardrobe.

“Emi, help me choose a dress for you and her. Now!” Harue said as she ordered Emi.

“As you wish, your highness.” Emi#2 said as she smiled and help Harue to choose a dress for Rai.

Inside the ‘Main Hall’…

The Presentation has started without Harue and Rai and everyone is asked to attend tonight’s event. Kenji is currently playing his violin to entertain the guests while the ‘Council’ were waiting for Harue and her chosen Candidate to arrive.

“Where are you, milady?” Hikaru said as he was carrying an ice bag placed onto his head and silently ran along the crowd, searching for Rai.

Hikaru suddenly stopped as he overheard the conversation of three aristocratic ladies beside him.

“Hey, I’ve heard rumors that whoever is the fake ‘Princess’ chosen Candidate will be automatically crowned the new, ‘Imperial Ruler’ tonight.” Aristocratic Lady #1 said as she whispered to her two friends.

“Eh? Really? I wonder who is this mystery Candidate.” Aristocratic Lady #2 said as she whispered to her two friends.

“I just hope that the fake ‘Princess’ will not make herself a fool tonight.” Aristocratic Lady #3 said as giggled and closed her paper fan.

“Huh? Then, if that is the case I wonder who was that lucky person.” Hikaru said as he whispered to himself and ran away.

“Thank you for that wonderful performance, Master Kenji. Now, for the main event of this evening, may I call the Second ‘Imperial Council’ up on the stage to present the five ‘Candidates’.” Ms. Julie said as Kenji’s performance ended and smiled in front of everyone.

“Why is our Head Master on the stage?” Ricard said as he asked Glenda.

“Head Master took over the role of being for the tonight’s event since Mr. Court Marshall is still confined in the Main Infirmary room.” Glenda said as she stood beside Ricard.

“Thank you, Ms. Julie. Now, on behalf of the Second ‘Imperial Council’, let me introduce to you the five ‘Candidates’.” Ms. Iysa said as she gently pushed Ms. Julie away from the center stage while the audience applauses.

“On your right, we have Ms. Mayumi Yumisaki and Mr. Eito Yoshiyuki both from ‘Iytheria’, followed by Mr. Kazuki Hamasaki from ‘Wathyria’, Mr. Hikaru Hashimoto from ‘Fireiya’ and – Where the heck is Harue and her ‘Candidate’” Ms. Iysa said as she asked Ms. Julie.

“We’re here! We apologize for being late.” Harue said as she and Rai whose head is covered with a silvery white veil arrived at the ‘Main Hall’.

“Harue, is this really necessary?” Rai softly said as she asked Harue.

“Shh! Ahem! May I present Ms. Rai Akimura from ‘Fireiya’ and she is my chosen ‘Candidate’.” Harue said as she introduced Rai to everyone.

The audience gasped as they saw Rai removed the veil off her head itself.

“Wow. Both of you have a matching outfit. You are wearing a formal, black suit with a wine-red colored necktie while she is wearing a formal, wine-red colored dress.” Kazuki said as he looked at Hikaru who suddenly shoved his face with the ice bag.

“Um? Are you alright, Eito?” Mayumi said as she noticed Eito turned around to hide his blushing face.

“Damn it! She is so beautiful. Ah! D-Don’t worry. I’m alright. Thank you.” Eito said as he gently pushed Mayumi away.

“Uh? Okay. I cannot believe that she is Harue’s Candidate.” Mayumi said as she looked at Harue and Rai.

“Based on everyone’s reactions, nobody knows that she is her chosen Candidate.” Eito said as he looked at Rai.

“Hey, you! Why did you do that?” Kazuki said as he got angry at Hikaru.

“You deserve that anyway.” Hikaru said as he placed the ice bag back onto his head.

“Huh?! So, this is how you apologize after you threw up inside the aerostat.” Kazuki said while still up in the stage.

“H-how dare you say that in front of everyone?!” Hikaru said as he got mad and slammed the ice bag on the stage.

“Hey, you two, please calm down.” Ms. Iysa said as she gently pushed Kazuki and Hikaru away from each other.

The audience laughs at Kazuki and Hikaru’s sudden comedy skit in the stage.

“Anyway, you’ve met the five ‘Candidates’ so what are waiting for? Let the party begin!” Hiiro said as he walked to the center stage and interrupted.

The audience shouts as they approve to Mr. Hiiro’s idea while the ‘Royal Orchestra’ starts to play some party music following Kenji’s lead.
