Mere minutes before sunrise, we thankfullly arrived at the eastern commoners gate of the capital city. Thankfully, the portal didn’t lead to a vastly different place and coupled with the air gliders we managed to get back relatively quickly.
Before doing anything else though, Hannah and I got back to their inn so that the others could get a bit of sleep while Hannah and I stepped into the carriage waiting in front of it.
“Are you sure you want Schwarz to have your sword?” It was the best way to make him shut up about it, that was for sure. And besides that, I really had no use for it at this point. In his hands, it was a normal sword which couldn’t cut my soul apart at all.
“Do you see any god that needs to be slain? And besides, it’s still mine. I can feel it in his arms and can take it away from him easily.” I commented, looking out of the window to see the houses passing by.
“I see. Do you mind if I sleep a little?” She asked slowly as if she was unsure what I expected of her at this point.
“No, not at all.” I said and waited a little before I was sure she was asleep. Quietly grabbing my backpack, I took the picture out and held it in my hands. Caressing the edges it lovingly, I remembered the time when Aska made it with a smile on my lips.
“Why do you have to ruin this …” I whispered quietly and closed my eyes. There was really no need for conflict between me and Aska. We could get along fine if we worked on our issues, but he ruined everything time and time again. Solaris was the only place where I could life freely without him and if he took that away from me … I didn’t know what I would do, or what I would become.
Sighing quietly, I put the picture away once more and looked out of the carriage melancholic.
“Irminsul? On whose side are you?” I didn’t get any answer to my question for a long long time and so, I eventually gave up on waiting for her.
In the end, I could merely step out of the carriage in front of Tom’s mansion and wake up Hannah in the process. Quickly, she stepped out of the carriage as well, following my lead towards the wide open door.
“What are you doing here?” I asked the dumbly smiling whore waiting inside the foyer. She did have a white dress over her arm, which might have been an indication already.
“Hannah, there are a few rooms unused upstairs. And slut, please come with me.” She said and turned around on her heels to go into one of the many hallways. As I had no other option, I followed her begrudgingly and soon entered a dressing room with her.
“Oh no. You aren’t going to fuss around for hours without end.” I complained right away as she placed the dress over a simple chair.
“I do have your dress and I highly doubt you can fix …”, she said and pointed at my messed up hair, “without my help.”
“And what are your qualifications to do that?” I asked smiling haughtily. I was pretty sure she didn’t have any experience as a maid and therefore, she wouldn’t have any idea what needed to be done.
“I have been taking care of every third Miss Human. My hairstyles are renowned throughout the world.” Okay … that was quite impressive, I had to admit that. Winning this fashion contest so often was … difficult.
“Whatever. Do your worst.” I said and wanted to sit down until she stopped me with her handy
“You might need to take a bath before. I have made sure one is filled already in the room right next to us.” Presenting her the middle finger, I walked backwards until I was out of the room again and slammed the door shut.
“Consented snipe …” I mumbled, entered the room she was talking about and cleaned myself like usual which didn’t involve submerging myself in water.
And so, I came back into the dressing room half an hour later in my underwear, still showing her my middle finger.
“Oh my. Beauty is the primary worth of every woman and you are ruining it with your actions.” She commented while smiling brightly.
“That’s sexist and you know it.” I said right away.
“As long as I can say you are worthless, I’m more than happy to be sexist.” She giggled a little and pointed towards the chair where I sat down right away.
“Any wishes?” She asked looking into the mirror to keep eye contact.

“Do your worst.” I commented already bored from this.
“Done.” She said after stepping back. Glaring at her who hadn’t done anything, I showed her my canines and hissed angrily.
“Fuck. You.” I said aggressively and crossed my arms in front of my chest. Giggling quietly, she finally started her work by combing my hair, braiding it in some places and … all the rest I was too uninterested to in. I honestly felt like a dress up doll in her hands and she seriously enjoyed my despair.
She especially liked when I looked into the mirror, completely clothed in a shoulder free dress going to my knees with my skin actually looking a bit healthier than usual.
“Isn’t that a bit too much skin?” I asked right away to which she had no other answer but to put a white straw hat onto my head.
“Ahh … summer dresses really show the beauty of every woman there is.” She said enthused about that person I could see in the mirror which didn’t look much like me.
“Except she’s ugly.” I commented wryly.
“Now you are the sexist.” She said and patted my head which I commented with another hiss at her.
“Whatever. Done? I still have to do a few things.” I said shortly afterwards and turned around to escape her grasp quickly.
“I’m done. Do you come back tonight?” She asked and looked at me full of expectations. She really was a whore in every aspect.
“After this? Definitely not.” I mumbled quietly and rushed out of the door. The first servant noticing me was quite stunned by what he saw, but caught himself relatively quickly as I had asked him to fetch Hannah.
She arrived a few minutes later as well, cleaned but still in her usual attire. “Who are you and what have you don’t to my Lucinda?” Hannah asked jokingly with a smile on her lips making me flinch involuntarily.
“The whore killed her. We have to hurry.” I said right away and walked out of the mansion, careful not to step in anything dirty. Hopping into a white carriage while holding my straw hat down, I quickly sat down on a comfortable sat and enjoyed the scented air for a second until the carriage started moving in a hurry.
Truth to be told, we were late, especially so because we stopped a few minutes later at the very end of a column that stretched far too long to be acceptable. Grumbling quietly, I opened the door carefully once more and stepped out of it, squeezing myself through the masses with Hannah hot on my heels. Holding my left hand over my ring, I made sure I wasn’t very recognisable for the most part and thus, arrived at the gate littered with guards relatively quickly.
“Hi!” I said stepping close to one of the senior guardsmen. “We need to get inside as fast as possible without causing a commotion.” I explained using a calm voice and showed him my ring shortly afterwards. He did make wide eyes and opened a way for Hannah and me right away before guiding us past the massive coliseum in front of the palace and cathedral to a few tents.
“Lucy! By the gods! I thought I would need to call off this event.” Yeah … the king only cared about his own reputation as usual which wasn’t entirely surprising. “It’s starting in fifteen minutes already! Where have you been?”
“The traffic was horrible.” I commented and walked past him to look at four golden medals imprinted with a dove. “How many contestants are there?”
“Far too many.” He admitted straight away and handed me a very thick book filled with names until around the middle.
“I see. Thank you for holding the fort for me.” I said and grabbed my chin.
“Hmm … is there anything else I can do for you?” That man … could he even think about anything but his own desires? Seriously though, how could such a lousy partner be so interested in spending the night with me so often?
Shaking my head in denial, I sighed loudly and turned around. “We’ll go with plan C.”
