As the twins rushed towards me, I grabbed one door wing and slammed it shut while parrying Clarice attack through the other side. Backing off a little, they both left the room warily while I readied my swords once more right next to the wall.

“Show me what you are made off.” I provoked them right away which they naturally fell for. Their strength definitely wasn’t that they still behaved like twelve year olds … crazy twelve year olds. They dashed towards me at the same time while I kicked a nearby vase towards Clara, forcing her to step back while her sister still dashed ahead. Our swords made a beautiful melody as all three blades met, but even when I gave my best, I was still outmatched by her strength and was pushed backwards over the rug.

Clicking my to tongue a little annoyed, I jumped backwards only to see all of the humans leaving the room one by one. Much to my surprise, they were tense, but still determined, even though Clara stabbed them one by one.

“Nobody has ever seen you use blood magic … why is that?” Clarice said, stepping away from me a little.

“I have blood phobia?” I asked and made them chuckle a little. Nonetheless, after Clarice chanted underneath her breath, the blood on the ground started floating in the air and transformed into spears all pointed at me.

“Yeah … that’s a little bit unfair?” I asked and pointed the shorter sword in my left hand at them. Right as they fired of their magic, I did what I hadn’t used often before. “Verwschwindibus magnus!” The structure of the spears immediately vanished and the blood fell to the ground in front of me harmlessly.

“What have you done?” Clara asked a little confused, weighing the sword in her hands.

“I cancelled out your magic?” I didn’t even lie. Amongst other things, that was what happened.

“But I feel heavier.” Clarice said and jumped around a little. She was still strong, but not to point where she overwhelmed me. At best, we were on par now and at worst, I was stronger than them.

“No … whatever.” They couldn’t figure out that I erased the system in the vicinity right away, but that didn’t stop them from attacking me at all. Seeing no other option but to fight in more favourable terrain, I dashed towards my left, crashed through the window and ran away from them with the twins following me right away.

Suddenly, I stopped in the middle of the front yard, turned around abruptly and slashed at a rather surprised Clarice who could barely block my attack. Twirling around, I ran once more before Clara could react and slash at me. I dashed through the open gate of the estate, turned left and immediately set my target onto an old stone watchtower.

They were closely on my heels, but they were not faster than me in any way, allowing me to dash into it and shut the door, only to see it stabbed through my two swords.

“These girls are crazy.” I mumbled and ascended the stairwell a little while they hacked the door into pieces. Disgruntled, they noticed the predicament they were in as there was no way they could fight two versus one on this small stairwell.

“Clara …” Clarice muttered and Clara nodded right away. Then, she dashed out of the tower once more while I cursed my luck. Abruptly, I turned around and ascended the stairwell as fast as possible, Clarice behind me in a save distance.  As soon as I stepped into the circular rooftop, I heard how Clara was climbing the tower from the outside and did what any sane person would do. I jumped off backwards exactly where she was climbing. Looking down, I could see her surprised face approaching quickly and rammed my short sword into her shoulder on the way down.

She screamed loudly and was thrown of the wall thanks to the force I transmitted through the sword. Together we tumbled down towards the ground with me crashing into it first and her on top of me. For a second, I could only see the stars until I noticed that she was biting my arm. Letting go of my sword, I grabbed her hairs and brutally yanked her away from my skin while she gulped down my blood.

Giggling a little, I kicked her away from me afterwards, rolled on the ground and picked up my longer sword while Clara stood up slowly, the sword still deep within her shoulder.

But sadly, I didn’t have the luxury to finish her off as Clarice rushed through the door, directly towards me while my broken bones were still healing themselves.

Giggling in pain, I slashed at her neck as soon as she was in range, forcing her to duck beneath it. Just as I wanted to back off, she threw herself at me and made me tumble backwards. Her sharp fingernails dug into my sword hand while I did the same to hers. Then, she head butted me right away, while I rammed my knees I to her groins. We were both in pain, and yet none of us let go of each other, but rather doubled down on our efforts. I dove down with my teeth, aiming for her exposed neck and bit deeply into her flesh. She screamed loudly as I yanked my head backwards, tearing through her veins in the process while she tried to do the same, albeit less successfully.

Sadly, I had to leave it at that as Clara was already fit again and rushed towards us without the sword in her neck. Using her sister as a makeshift shield, I backed off a little but certainly didn’t expect their animalistic fighting style. She simply pounced into her sister’s back and sent all of us tumbling towards the ground with me at the bottom of the pile.

In mid air, I was bitten once more while my canines found their way even deeper into Clarice’s flesh. Blood was seeping out of our rapidly healing wounds as Clara – on top of all of us – grabbed my hair and hammered the back of my head onto the floor. Furious, I let go of Clarice’s sword and reached for Clara’s right side, only to dig my fingers into her flesh and pull her off us.

While I was doing so, Clarice rammed her knee into my groins, putting even more stress on my shoulders. Grabbing her hair with my free hand, I tore her teeth out of my flesh and kicked her off me once more. Disregarding the sword to my side completely, I rolled over and threw myself at Clara. My fingers found her sword hand right away as I pushed her onto her back. Wrestling with her a little, her other hand balled into a fist quickly found my side which she punched repeatedly.

But slowly, I was wrestling the sword out of her hands and was so short of success as Clarice’s blade found its way into my side. It struck through my whole belly, but all I could do was to find her attempt rather amusing. Tensing up, I used my muscles to lock that sword in place and threw myself to the side once I had control over Clara’s sword as well. Stumbling backwards a little, I threw Clara’s sword away and pulled the other one out of my torso.

All of us struggled a little as we glanced towards my sword laying on the ground a bit further away. As soon as I clicked my tongue, all of us ran towards it, but I focused more on cutting their way than anything else. Successfully, I slashed at Clarice who had to duck once more while her sister used that opportunity to reach for the sword. She rolled off the ground, which merely allowed me to kick her side as I was still largely occupied with Clara.

In the end, I needed to back off once more as they started to circle around me right away.

“At least its looking better than before.” It was still one versus two, but at least they had lost one weapon.

“You also lost one sword.” Well, considering I started out dual wielding, that was indeed true.

“Fair enough.” I said and tilted my head to the side a little. “Want to make it a little more interesting?”

“What’s on your mind?” Clara asked which made me smile a little. Throwing the red sword onto the roof of another building. “Why did you do that?”

“I’m slightly crazier than you are.” I admitted and smiled bright as Clarice threw her sword away as well.

“So what now? Rock, paper, scissors?” Clarice asked looking towards the sword on the roof longingly.

“Nah, let’s just beat each other.” I proposed swiftly.

“Eww, do we really get that boring when we get older?” No way … was my proposal really that horrible? Or was it just a generational thing?

“Hey!” I shouted out disgruntled.

“Let’s just follow what that old woman has to say.” Clara said and giggled alongside her sister for a little while. As I lifted my fists in front of my face though, they calmed down and did the same. We circled around each other for a little while. One of them always tried to get to my back which I denied them through clever positioning.

After a minute or so, we had played enough shark life and I stormed towards Clarice, my fist meeting her nose while hers met mine. Blood spewed out of our noses right away, probably diminishing her prowess more than it did mine. I swiftly grabbed her retreating fist, ignored the one finding its way into my side and pulled Clarice towards me only to ram my knee into her belly. She took that as a chance though and clawed at my cheek with her fingernails, resulting in four rather deep wounds. Then, I flung her to the side into Clara who was just bringing her fangs closer to my nape.

“They sure talk long, don’t they?” I said as my wounds healed and they repositioned themselves.

“There is much to discuss … apparently.” Well, I certainly didn’t want them to talk that long. Looking at the castle I thought a little where I the biggest room would be and pointed my finger at it. Disregarding the two twins completely, I prepared myself and let death flow out of me rapidly. I concentrated it on the tip of my finger, but didn’t get far enough to shoot as an explosion blasted out a few windows from the inside. And then, I was promptly thrown to the side by two hungry vampires digging their teeth into my nape and arm.

Thankfully, I managed to remain standing and thus grabbed into Clarice’s mouth as she was sucking on my arm and pulled her off me. My arm now being free, I grabbed behind me to grasp Clara’s neck, but she hugged me from behind with her legs and made it impossible for me to throw her off.

As Clarice wanted to pounce at me once more, I saw my chance though. Turning around, I threw myself backwards right away. The three of us fell onto the ground and buried all of them beneath me. Grabbing behind me once more, I dug my fingernails into Clara’s side and tore apart her skin, making her scream loudly which freed me from her bite. Rolling off her, I blinked a few times quite exhausted until Clara’s fist found its way onto my nose once more. Angrily, I turned around in the mud, hissed at the two of them as they were rolling off each other.

“That’s … actually a lot more fun than I thought …” Clara admitted out of breath and cleared her face from the bloodied blonde hairs.

“That’s what I was thinking as well.” Clarice admitted right before I jumped at her like a frog and tried to grab her throat. She struggled vehemently, punched my sides and pushed my chin away from her, but my nails still found their way inside her throat.

Naturally Clara wasn’t ignoring that and threw herself into my side and as that didn’t work, she grabbed my throat and pushed her fangs into me once more. She was attempting to draw as much blood out from me as possible, but she seriously underestimated just how much blood there was in my body. I didn’t know how it worked either, but I was capable of holding onto far more blood than they did, which was why Clarice they were losing the battle of attrition. I could feel how Clarice’s struggles died down slowly while I was tearing up her wounds more and more. As she let go of my chin, I pulled my fingers out of her open throat and threw myself backwards. Clara’s head hit the ground rather painfully. Then, I reached over my shoulder into her mouth and dragged her teeth out of my flesh slowly.

She didn’t try to bite me afterwards and just breathed roughly, allowing me to roll off her and look at the stars tired.

“We should do that more often.” Clara said while her sister was still gasping for air to speak.

“And we should also fuck together … hey Lucy, I know you will be hesitant, but can you role play as our mum then? We would love that.” Clarice added.

“You are some kinky little freaks.” I said exhausted and pushed myself off the ground so that I sat upright.

“Please …” Both of them begged at the same time.

“Maybe if you betray the demon king.” I said slowly.

“But he’s our brother!” Clara said and shook her head right away.

“He isn’t even the same race as you.” I pointed out, but that didn’t seem to change much. Their locality was still unwavering.

“Even then …” Clarice said a bit saddened.

“Then it means we are still enemies.” I admitted and stood up slowly. Clara followed suit, as exhausted as I while Clarice struggled to do anything. She was thoroughly drained of her blood.

“Hey … Lucy. Whatever happens, let’s not kill each other, okay? I would love to see you again.” Clara knew very well that she didn’t have much of a chance against me, but still couldn’t give up. Nodding towards her, I balled my hands into fists once more and stepped forwards. My fist met her arm right away while I tilted my head to the side to avoid her punch. Tippling a bit to the side, I twirled around and tried to kick her side using the momentum, but she blocked with her arm once more.

Returning back into my previous position did leave my back wide open though but she didn’t attack herself, probably because I was too fast. Holding my fists in front of my face once more, I grabbed her fist as she threw a punch at me, pulled her towards me and rammed my knee into her belly. My right hand soon found her neck and I pushed her to the ground right away. She buckled up weakly beneath me as I straddled her back, pressed her head firmly onto the ground and dug my teeth into her nape. This time, I didn’t try to cause maximum damage, but rather let her blood flow into my mouth while she finally submitted and stopped struggling.

As soon as she did so, I immediately let go of her and gulped down her really delicious blood.

“Cannibalism really is the best, right?” Clara asked, strangely relaxed beneath me.

“Probably. Do you give up?” I asked strangely tired.

“There is hardly anything we can do now, is there?” She said and turned her head towards her sister who was crawling over to us weakly. “Will you kill us?”

“Do you want to die?” I asked a bit concerned.

“No … not really.” Clara said and her sister nodded before taking Clara’s arm and biting into it.

“See.” I replied and stood up with shaky legs. Then, I noticed how Clarice finished her meal and extended her hand towards me.

“Do you want to be fake friends?” Clarice asked quietly.

“Ahh … the type that betrays the other when it suits them?” I said which made her eyes brighten up a lot.

“I knew you would understand.” She said happily while I took her hand and lifted her up.

“Fake friends forever.” I said and helped Clara up shortly afterwards. Both needed each other’s support to stand upright which made me smile a little. As crazy as they were, they always helped each other out. They loved the other to the point where they finished each other’s sentence and in a way, that made them really lovable. “For real though … the next time I see you close to the demon king, I will end your life.”

“Sis …” Clara muttered.

“Hmm …” Clarice approved right away.

“Okay. We won’t follow the demon king anymore.” How fast we’re these girls switching between calling him their brother and disregarding him completely?

“Great. Do you know what his plan is?” I asked slowly, still stunned by their earlier words.

“Well … he told us to stall all of you as long as possible. And that’s it. He didn’t trust anyone of us that much.” Clara admitted.

“You know he killed your mother?” I asked, guessing this was the reason they weren’t trusted.

“No he didn’t? We did.” Okay? I was kind of lucky I didn’t agree to being their mother actually.

“I see …” I said and looked over towards the castle which was more and more damaged thanks to all the ruckus the idiots and the demon king were causing. “Hey, I should really go now.”

“See ya!” They both said and waved towards me happily while I was strolling over my sword on the roof of a building and retrieved it.

“Next time we’ll fight with rock, paper and scissors!” I said loudly over my shoulder which made them giggle a bit. “Even an old woman can be funny, huh?” I mumbled quietly while I made my way towards the people who probably needed me the most.
