For one to become a body practitioner, they had to strengthen their body, and produce martial intent. Only when body practitioners formed a martial embryo over their soul would they truly enter the path of martial arts.
So it didn't matter much if Eric had a good talent in martial arts. As it would be very complicated for Yamasaki to form a martial embryo over his soul. Unless he had the legendary martial scripture. It was even more difficult to find it than a needle in a haystack. And even if one lucked on it, chances were high that they would not be able to understand it and in the end even become a target of bastards like Mattias.
Yamasaki fumbled with the mini swords and mumbled, "I am thinking about first focusing on martial arts."
"And your reason?" Asked Claire.
"Didn't I say that my soul is a bit strong? It will just be stronger in the future, making things difficult for me if I don't start early."
Claire peered into his red eyes and asked even more seriously. "But do you really have to become a martial artist as well as a cultivator?"
Yamasaki was speechless. He contemplated his decision. The reason he had thought of earlier felt like some excuse then. After some time, he finally understood the reason.
He muttered, "because I wanted to go against Alan."
Hearing him, instead of reprimanding him, her gaze softened. She knew that this might seem to be just a discussion but it was crucial for his future.
She told him, trying her best to sound as gentle as possible.
"Eric, it is important for you to understand that in serious matters like this, decisions based on emotions may not always yield good results. They might even be disastrous."
Yasuo was stunned. He never thought that Claire would show such an expression to him.
As such, his lips curled up and he said, "thank you. I'll never forget this."
Just then, both of them heard Alan's voice in their mind.
"In a few days, you will face your last test. After that I will no longer trouble you and even help you in a few matters."
Yamasaki and Claire exchanged glances. What was this man up to now?
"I am also going to the capital with Melissa tomorrow so you can fuck for all I care. Just don't forget to set up the sound restricting array."
"..."
Then he cut off the connection. A smile of bitterness formed over Yasuo's face. Alan was not teasing but mocking them. Fortunately Claire had no reaction to his provocation.
In the study room, Alan stood beside the window and stared at the bright moon, his face expressionless.
It was a bit time consuming but with reason and emotions, he was able to console Melissa.
He told her that though he knew about those bandits—as they were in some crown prince's plan—but he never imagined that they would attack his own family.
He promised her that they would go to the capital and he would cut off his relationship with the crown prince. It didn't matter how it happened but he would make things clear.

As for the Prestcote family, they were lucky as Melissa subtly told him that now she supported them.
He suddenly told an assassin hidden in the dark. "Send a message to Markus. I want Rosalyn Alyth to die in a week. It should be a natural death."
Rosalyn Alyth was his mother in law; the dotted wife of the head of Alyth family, one of the influential nobles of the theocracy of Evarllis in the Aldrym realm.
He had told Melissa that the Prestcote family were merchants who were supported by the second prince. Melissa was a smart woman so she understood what he was implying.
In the empire's eyes, Alan Bodwyn was assisted by the Alyth family so Melissa separating from him—which she would if not for Alan's glib tongue—would lead him to lose Alyth family's support. Ultimately weakening the crown prince's power.
Of course, all of this was a lie. The Prestcote family actually worked for Alyths. Rosalyn opposed Mellisa's marriage with a person with no background. But in the end, they had no choice but to help that very person.
It was not for their love for their only daughter. It was a matter of face as well as an opportunity to expand their business in the empire of Ebilon.
Crown prince didn't like the fact that Alan was gaining power without actually doing anything so he wanted to kick him down a little. He must have already made a deal with the Alyths.
Melissa was well known for her care for children. She would definitely separate from Alan if she knew the 'truth'. And even if she didn't, the Alyth family would still take her back to the Evarllis.
Without the support of the Alyths, Alan would have no choice but to curry favor from the crown prince.
With this, both of them would be satisfied and corporate together.
This plan was alright and could even work if not for Alan controlling the dark sparrow peerage.
Dark sparrow peerage was one of the powers that even the emperor of the empire of Ebilon wanted to be under his jurisdiction.
Alan also had his cultivation backing him. If not for his final goal, he would have just used brute force to fuck them all up. So what if the empire of Ebilon had a few gods? Even if there was a higher god on the backstage, so what? Alan also had contact with powerful people that could make them shit in their pants.
Now, Rosalyn's death as well as his visit to the crown prince was a warning to both the Alyth family and the prince.
He mumbled, "all according to the plan."
He had long considered this. And even if they were cautious and not stupid, he would still have used other means to have the same outcome.
In the end, in their eyes he would become a crucial, indispensable pawn in the so-called grand scheme.
He suddenly glared at no one and cursed.
"If not for a fucktard like you, I would not be in this condition. My plan was simple and effective back then. But you piece of shit ruined it."
His shadow actually laughed out loud. "As expected of you; cursing yourself like this."
Alan waved his hand to shoo this pile of dung away.
