In response to the question, he let out an angry roar!
It wasn’t that he did not want to speak. Rather, his lungs had almost completely collapsed now. He could not summon up the strength to move his vocal chords in complicated ways. All he could do was bellow. Convenient, and direct.
As a fighter, even if he had to die, he would die on the battlefield. In this world, not everybody had the chance to realize their dreams.
Perhaps one day, there would be no more orphans in this world.
Perhaps…
His opponent came again.
A nameless small fry, fighting to the death on this dirty floor, with a crazed look in his eyes, completely enthralled by the lure of money and excitement.
“I am the Terminator. This name will echo throughout the whole of Mars!” He announced his name, and gave another confident roar. He was cheering himself on. This demon in a mask had left his last nine opponents only with serious wounds. That was why he had chosen to fight right now. Besides, he saw his chance. The demon’s strength was running out…
Lie Guang smiled. Once upon a time, a character like this would be demolished with a flick of his finger without him even looking. This kind of guy… He expected as much. This small-scale arena would only have small fry. Perhaps he was the same as him. Perhaps he had all kinds of stories living with him.
But in the instant that they stood on the battleground tougher, they were destined to be enemies.
The 10th one.
Lie Guang roared and rushed forward, the demon’s guise masking his feelings. But midway, he felt the energy leave his body. The drug’s effects were over, and immediately he became weak and powerless.
The crowd was cheering intensely, but suddenly it was replaced by even more frenzied curses. They threw things at him, and spat at him.
Lie Guang was pinned to the floor by his opponent. Punch after punch rained down upon his head. The mask cracked. His opponent had gone berserk now. He wanted to break his opponent apart. This was an underground arena! Only a match of life and death could happen!
Crack!
It was the sound of bone breaking.
Nobody looked at the person being beaten up. There were only curses and hoots. Lie Guang had a smile on his face.
Seeing this, Lie Xin flared up. Her entire body was pulsating with fire.
Why!
Nobody could answer her.
Lie Guang slowly lost consciousness. He always knew he would die someday, but he never thought it would be like this. Where would he go after he died? He had no idea.
Lie family, I’ve paid all my debts.
A tear rolled down from the corner of Lie Guang’s eye, and everything faded with the wind.
The tears were pouring down Lie Xin’s face as well. These were Lie Xin’s first tears in her life. As the Lie family heir, she had always wanted to tell people that even a girl could lead Mars.
Was this the price?
The Lie Flame Technique overflowed. Within Inferno was a raging, killing, explosion.
“Tell them. I want everybody in the arena. No exceptions.” Lie Xin’s voice chilled them to the bone.
Lie Xin left, not once did she look at Odin.
Once Lie Xin left, an old man walked out. It was the Lie family leader, and the real leader of Mars.
In truth, this had not escaped their control, otherwise, Lie Guang could not have even left. Some things did not need to be purposefully planned. Given their understanding of human nature, they knew what would happen.
The old man and Odin did not say anything. At their age, they were not easily moved by such things anymore. For the Lie family and the Sage Sect to have come this far, there was no way back now. They could only go forward. Otherwise, they and their followers would be lost.
Only, they did not think that Lie Guang would really do it.
The old man recalled events 20 years ago. They had brought Lie Guang back from the orphanage. After so many years, from then till now, he had never even hugged him once.
He had never cared about him, not even once.
Such a sacrifice was not the first, and would not be the last. As a person in power, this was just another event. Otherwise, the Lie family would not have the power it had today.
Odin left without a word. He had known this would happen, but he had not stopped it. As the Sage, he understood fate better than others, but in truth, he was the biggest fool.
Back in the room, Odin discovered a letter on the table. Lie Guang had left it to him, because he was the “half a person” he had referred to.
“Mentor, your disciple is grateful that he could become your disciple. Your disciple was useless, and a disappointment. But in the end, your disciple did not lose face for the Sage Sect. If there is another life, your disciple would still like to be a Martian, and to be your disciple again. Only, I hope that in the next life, I can live for myself.”
Odin despaired. The room fell into darkness. From then on, the Sage announced that it would close from the world, and would never take a hand in matters of Mars again.
And in a small-scale underground arena somewhere on Mars, arson was happening. More than 500 people inside died with no exceptions… And from the inferno, witnesses said they thought they saw somebody walk out…

News from faraway Mars had not reached Earth. And nobody knew. It was almost like this person called Lie Guang had never existed before.
Wang Zheng had helped Yao Ailun complete his counter attack. The pitiful Yao Ailun had really turned from small fry to big shot. Now, everybody chased him around, interviewing him. It was even worse in school. He had enjoyed some small fame, and now was a star.
Conversely, now Wang Zheng and Chen Xiu were free and unhindered. The school had also arranged for a whole series of activities, of course under the direction of Xiao Fei. Ailun would contribute greatly to promoting the school, and he had no objections.
Of course, many people were pestering Yao Ailun about how he knew such big names, and why he had not publicized them before. Yao Ailun played it cool. After all, who didn’t have a few talented friends?
Clearly, everybody knew that Yao Ailun had only done this because of Mu Guang’s repeated taunts. The public was satisfied. He was new, but could hold his temper. Super Ailun Cool was clearly something else.
The CT company was striking while the iron was hot as well. They signed a huge contract with Yao Ailun, and Ailun announced that half of the earnings would be donated to Old Deer’s charity foundation, to help change orphans’ living conditions.
Because of this, what Old Deer had always been doing finally came to light. Who would have known that the Old Deer, nicknamed “Poison Tongue”, would be quietly raising a group of orphans? They finally understood why it was that Old Deer liked milk so much.
Suddenly, Old Deer and Yao Ailun were the center of attention. But Old Deer had disappeared, low-profile. He simply said that he was half-retired, and only occasionally did whatever. The rest was up to Yao Ailun.
Wang Zheng was staying at Xiao Fei’s. Was he Xiao Fei’s toy student…?
It felt strange, but Xiao Fei did host people quite regularly. Teachers, especially those from the lab, would often have meetings at her place.
It was simple. On one hand, a change of environment helped to change their thinking. Also, the principal had a nice place.
Mars and the rest were old friends of Wang Zheng, but there were many new additions to the team. All of them were talents, and they were all very surprised that there was actually a guy staying with the principal.
Xiao Fei was brazen as well. She seemed unbothered, and also unconcerned about gossip.
On one hand, she wanted to introduce the current core research team of KING Company to Wang Zheng. On the other hand, she also wanted them to know Wang Zheng. Xiao Fei also wanted to gradually fade away from the company. That KING’s program had come this far had already realized her dreams. And the business aspect of it was not something she wanted to chase. She wanted to focus and throw her energies into research and the management of the school. She hoped to turn Ares College into an elite school in the Milky Way.
And as for the financial work, she would leave it to Marcus and the professional business team.
Wang Zheng had initially intended to stay at the school for a while more. There had been all sorts of interruptions since he was back. They still had not had a proper reunion, and that guy Zhang Shan had disappeared without a trace since he was back. It looked like he was sequestered somewhere with another girl again.
News had come from Tita Star. Something problematic had come up. Yan Xiaosu and Ye Zisu had cooked up a show that had opened the way for the first step of Tita Star’s development. And the last time had indeed exposed some of those in hiding. Mu Sen and Lan Ling’s reveal of their weakness had also been premeditated. The name of Wise Man that Mu Sen had was no hollow brag.
Therefore, Wang Zheng was at most going over for a short holiday to see his friends again. But recently, something big was happening. There was a serial murder of giants happening.
Some were in the human cities, while some were in Tita’s slums. The killer was unpredictable and left no traces, and said to possess some camouflage abilities.
Most importantly, Rara Durai was injured. This was the most serious. Rara Durai held the matured power of the Titan. For someone to seriously wound him, and then leave calmly was unbelievable.
But that person was indeed feeling carefree. And leaving Rara Durai alive had not been because of a lack of ability, but rather that the motive was different. The common saying among assassins was that “A head without cost is not worth taking.”
And in a few major cities, word of a devil was spreading. Messages were left, calling the exchange between Tita people and humanity ‘against heaven’s will’, and would result in the destruction of Tita Star. Clearly, someone with an agenda was behind this.
The Lan family and the Tita people were all trying to catch the killer, but Tita Star was just too vast, and they had not the slightest lead. The people pursuing were often killed as well, and Lan Ling and the rest were not sure what to do. It was also the most crucial phase of development, and if they could not even guarantee the safety of their investors, who would dare to come?
“Zisu, does the other side have mecha?”
“Yes, but it’s not used every time. The problem is that we don’t know how he could bring a mecha in. According to an eyewitness, this type of mecha is not common, and has some shapeshifting or camouflage ability. I’m unable to determine if it is an ability X or a mecha ability.” Ye Zisu said.
Seeing Ye Zisu’s expression, Wang Zheng knew that things were worse than he had imagined.
“What does Mu Sen have planned? What other responses are there?” Wang Zheng asked.
“Elder Mu Sen has mobilized the giant army. They must move as squads, but 2 of the search parties vanished. They were dead when found. The opponent is clearly someone uncommon.” Ye Zisu said. “Besides, because this is a recent problem, some countries are offering to send troops to help preserve security and apprehend the criminal.”
Wang Zheng understood what Mu Sen and Lan Ling were worried about. At present, Tita Star was a tasty steamed bun, but in honesty its military might was insufficient. It was unknown who had sent the killer. It could have been a competitor from the past, or any country. The scope was too broad, but the only way was to apprehend the killer. It was easy to invite people in, but not easy to get them to leave. If foreign military entered, it would be difficult to maneuver from then on. Besides, Tita Star would also lose bargaining power. Now, more than 10 countries had already sent offers. This was a real mess.
The entire affair had blown out of Mu Sen’s expectations. He had not expected that after dealing with internal affairs, such a thing would happen.
This killer was very professional, choosing sensitive times and targets. Besides, Tita Star was a confluence of great powers. When all was peaceful, nothing happened, but now everyone was eyeing the prize, and wanting a bite of the apple.
“I’ll leave tomorrow.” Wang Zheng said.
“Alright! We’ll wait for you!”
“Zisu, you all must be careful too. Don’t get careless. This could be a commercially motivated ploy.” Wang Zheng said.
Ye Zisu smiled slightly. “Don’t worry. We’re being very careful about access.”
When Rara Durai had been wounded, the opponent had not been using a mecha. This meant the killer’s ability was top class. With a mecha, destroying 1 or 2 giant squads would be only too easy. Tita Star was still counted as a primitive planet. Urbanization was low. Given the wide space, and with enough ability X, entry could not be stopped easily.
But such a person was not common even in the entire Milky Way.
Knowing that things were going down on Tita Star, Wang Zheng could not sit still. Xiao Fei did not object either. She had wanted Wang Zheng to stay for a few more days.
“You be careful too. Don’t just charge forward without a clear head.” Xiao Fei was a little worried. After becoming the Ares College principal, her privileges had been vastly different as well. She had the clearance to understand some things related to IG. She had initially thought that Wang Zheng and the rest were not as risk-prone, but that was not something a scientist like herself could understand. It was a life-or-death decision, and privately Xiao Fei did not understand or approve of Wang Zheng’s choice. Why did he have to choose such a dangerous profession? Even as a military school student, there were many safe options in this day and age. But Wang Zheng just had to choose the dangerous path. Only, Xiao Fei knew that, no matter her status, she would not be able to stop him.
“Noble principal, please don’t worry. I won’t shame you.” Wang Zheng smiled. Although he did not have many things, but he still needed to pack a little. The way things looked, this killer was at least an Earth Grade in Elite Academy’s hierarchy.
One had to know that clashing and murder were completely different things. An Earth Grade expert hiding in the shadows to execute a stealth attack was hard to imagine. But their advantage depended on fate, luck, and people. Going head on was not an option.
Wang Zheng could not relax. More importantly, he was worried about the opponent’s mecha. How had it come in, and why could it not be traced? From Jiang Feng, he had seen the ability X leaderboard. Some were in the Milky Way, but some walked in a darker world… These were unbelievably strong and frightening presences. He was now very worried for the safety of Ye Zisu and Yan Xiaosu. The killer’s standard might be at that quality. If it was true, then, given Tita Star’s current situation, they were defenseless.
