It was a day like any other as Millie woke up with her face firmly planted on her keyboard.

"Not again..." She moaned in anguish while rubbing her forehead, hoping to remove the 'QWERTY' markings that had made their home there during the night.

"What time is it? It can't be passed noon can't it?" She knew it was most likely passed noon, but she didn't want to accept the cruel reality.

"Oh no! It's 4pm! I'm gonna be late for school!!" Nearly tripping on her own two feet, Millie dashed towards her closet to get dressed. It took her a solid fifty-five minutes and thirty-seven seconds before she finally remembered that she had graduated last year...

"Oh...right. I don't have to go to school anymore. Good thing I live alone and nobody saw this..." Her cat on the other side of the room saw it all and judged her severely.

With her rough 'morning' settled, Millie wasted no time settling into her usual routine and sat back in the cheap gaming chair she bought on eBuy last year for twenty-five dollars and fifty-three cents. Now comfortable, she turned her PC on and booted up her favorite game: World of Kaijus.

"Come on! Just a bit more grind...Yeah!! I Did it! I finally levelled my kaiju to level 100!!" Unable to control her joy, Millie sprang up from her cheap gaming chair and struck a victory pose for several seconds before doing an impromptu dance that would undoubtedly shame her ancestors.

"This is by far my greatest accomplishment in life!" she yelled at the top of her lungs before a moment of deep realization struck her.

"...Shit."

"Well, it can only go up from here right?"

As the contracted narrator of this story, I am mandated by paragraph six of my contract to answer yes regardless of my own personal thoughts on the current situation.

After a moment of clear shame, Millie continued on with her gaming session until she had no choice but to stop due to the one thing that could disturb a gaming addict—hunger.

"Shit...I forgot to eat again. But I really don't want to prepare food...that would drain my stamina, and I need that stamina to play games!

In Millie's head. This made perfect sense.

"Bah, I'll just have some milk. That will take care of the hunger!"

Still on her gaming chair, Millie rolled all the way to her kitchen in an attempt to preserve 'stamina'. However, it was upon opening her fridge that Millie came to the all too important realization, that she had run out of milk. As well as literally everything else besides a single expired can of soda.

"Oh no! I ran out of food!! I'm gonna starve to death!"

With exaggerated agony, the poor girl fell off her gamer chair and into the ground on her knees.

"Didn't I order some groceries online the other day? How could this be!?"

It had now been 3 weeks since "the other day".

"Guess this leaves me no choice...I'll have...to go outside..."

"Out in the cold harsh world..."

"Filled with people..."

"Sigh"

With extreme reluctance, Millie exchanged her comfortable pajamas for her comfortable hoodie. To her, increasing the comfort stat was important in order to face the naturally uncomfortable outside world. Now that she was equipped with her best gear, Millie walked towards her front door and stood next to it as she attempted to relax her breathing.

"Come on Millie...what's the worst that could happen? Worst case scenario someone waves at the person behind me and I accidentally wave back!...Again..."

A collection of painful flashbacks started playing in the girl's head.

"On second thought maybe starving isn't so bad...sigh"

Before the pessimistic girl could give up. A friendly sound snapped her out of her fear.

"Meow."

It was her cat.

"Oh! Morgana! What's wrong buddy!? Are you hungry too?"

"Meow." Said the cat with no emotion in display. Only a cold gaze towards her master.

"Oh, that sounded like a hungry meow. Wait—I forgot I ran out of cat food! I really have no choice but to go outside now! Don't worry Morgana! Your loving master will bare the hardships of the world for your sake!!"

"Meow." Said the cat still with no emotion in display and an even colder gaze towards her master.

It took a great amount of resolve, but Millie finally managed to turn the door handle and thus opening the creaky door of her apartment.

"Time to go..."

Driven by the love for her cat, Millie headed outside her apartment complex and ventured out into the world. The trek down the stairs had challenged her will, but eventually, she managed to reach the ground floor as well as the door to the outside. However, once again she was trapped by hesitation the moment she reached the door to the outside.

"I really don't want to go outside..."

"Come on Millie! It will just be a quick trip down the block into the convenience store! You've done this before! Just go in, buy milk, a twelve-pack of ramen and some cat food! Easy!"

With newfound optimism, Millie took a step forward and left her apartment.

"See! This wasn't so bad! I did it!"

The girl had spoken to soon...

"Huh? What's tha—
