Suwae landed back onboard Joyano's ship with her two-tailed leopard back in its diminutive form and standing on her shoulders. While the others took the time to greet her, my eyes never left the ongoing battle between Joyano and Skansi, though she knew me well enough to know it was not meant as a slight against her. Entode had no qualms with sneak attacks just like Skansi, so it was only a matter of time before the Devil revealed his head, and I would remove it from his shoulders yet again. Unfortunately, my distraction allowed something terrible to happen, though there was little that I could have done to stop it.

"Suwae! What's wrong?!?" Alkatyenia asked with concern.

I turned around just in time to see the small Archangel collapse to her knees as her skin turned green and she released a mouthful of golden blood. Before she could answer, two figures were ejected from her Inner Realm, both laughing. One wore a torn and weathered black cloak which hid most of its skeletal frame.

The other I recognized far too well and the world turned red as I roared, throwing myself at the Devil Progenitor, "Entode!"

The impact of my charge threw him thousands of feet away, but I did not forget Helani, swiping the bag of bones with my tail as I passed and threw him even further away since he was much weaker, physically. I chased after the Devil who was unharmed by my attack as he steadied himself in the empty space. Behind me, silver clouds billowed out with traces of crimson and violet which were extensions of my power since relying on my giant True Body would put me at a disadvantage against the small yet fast Devil.

"Still a mindless beast that is enslaved to its emotions," Entode mocked.

I gave a snarl as I manipulated the storm clouds to circle around him. Entode did not stop me and summoned his bone armor and greatsword, but it only served to infuriate me more. The sword was crafted from the spine of my First Born, each piece of the armor was also from her body. Even more insulting was the large black gem placed in the hilt of the sword which powered all of the weapons enchantments and used her soul as fuel.

The First Born of a True Dragon would be born with the potential of both parents, giving them the ability to surpass their parents if they can live long enough. Annasia had been the first Fae Dragon, fusing the incredible physical body of a True Dragon and the near-limitless magical reserves of an Arcane Fairy Queen. She should have been able to create and rule the strongest Pantheon, but instead, Entode murdered her before my eyes and harvested her body and soul while I fought my way through legions of Devils.

Despite killing thousands of his children, it was meaningless since they were nothing but disposable pawns meant only to slow me down while he delivered the killing blow. I landed a crippling blow on him before he managed to escape, but he delivered a counterattack which took two fingers from my left hand. As I watched him flee, I vowed on my Soul to always carry the injury until I destroyed his True Soul, making any form of rebirth impossible.

"I will devour your Soul," I growled.

"Don't choke when you bite off more than you can chew," Entode retorted with a smirk.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A strange anger clung to me, forcing me to awaken from my meditation, and there was a burning sensation coming from my left hand, specifically where my metallic fingers connected to my hand. I had to pull them off with a hiss of pain which woke up Katye who gave me a concerned look. There was no visible sign of problems on my hand, but I could still feel an echo of the pain so I knew it was real.
"What's wrong?" Katye asked.
"I don't know… It was like I was dreaming while I was meditating, but I can't remember any of it then my hand started burning," I replied.
Katye placed a hand on my knee and gave me a weak smile, asking, "Do you need to stay behind?"
"Like hell I do. This is nothing compared to what I have dealt with," I grumbled.
She smirked and said, "If you need anything, just let me know."
"If that's the case… I need you and Raven naked in my bed while Echo and I switch off, fu…"
Katye silenced me by flicking her fingers which shot a tiny bolt of unattributed mana at me and chided, "You're such a hound dog."
I laughed, rubbing my forehead where it hit, and replied with no shame, "What can I say? I have three beautiful women who are willing to share my bed. It would be stranger if I didn't want to enjoy everything that I have."
"Come on. It's nearly sunset, so we should say goodnight to everyone before we go," Katye sighed, shaking her head with a wry smile.
She did not wait for me to reply and disappeared into the Shadow Realm. I chuckled and picked up my discarded artificial fingers. There was still a bit of pain when I replaced them, but I just did my best to ignore it until the feeling went away, or I became numb to it. I slipped into the Shadow Realm and rushed out of the cave where we had been meditating.
Katye had already rejoined the others in the game room when I stepped onto the stairs properly. Raven, Echo, and Madi were playing Uno, but now that Madi was a pre-teen, she did not immediately drop everything when Katye or I appeared anymore which was a little sad, yet it was bound to happen. Katye stood behind Echo and watched her play while I walked up behind Madi then messed with her hair.
"Hey, stop," Madi complained while I chuckled at her expense.
"You could at least say 'hi' when I walk into the room. I haven't seen you all day," I retorted.
"And whose fault is that?"
"When did she become such a little punk?" I laughed as I walked over to Raven.
"While growing up around you," Raven teased.
I smirked then leaned down and kissed her.
"So, does that mean you two are leaving then?" Raven asked when we broke.
"Afraid so," Katye replied for me.
"Does this mean that the others in the bunkers can finally join us?" Madi asked.
"Soon," Katye said with a soft smile. "We need to settle Diyoza's people first and then we'll start moving people out of the bunkers in groups."
Although Madi had gone to the bunkers with us over the years, she refused to stay behind even though there were kids her own age. She was wanting more and more to have others to interact with, but with the only option being to live in the Polis bunker, she preferred to keep living with us.
"We'll be back in the morning, but just to be safe, all of you should spend the night in the cavern," I warned.
"We'll head down after the game," Raven agreed.
"Good," I said then kissed the top of her head.
Katye gave me a nod and we both made our way to the stairs. Once we got down to ground level, I headed out to the main field, outside of the wall, and started making a simple prison with high walls, a roof that angled inwards, and a hole at the top with a slide so that anyone dropped inside would not be too badly hurt by the fall. Our home on the side of a mountain was not well hidden, so even if they could not track our radio signal, it was likely that they would still find it. We may have been willing to work with Diyoza, but we were still quite a way away from trusting her or her people, especially while McCreary was still alive.
"Not bad... Did you reinforce the floor?" Katye asked as she walked up with a basket on her arm.
"And walls with a thin layer of metal then two feet of stone behind that," I replied. "I see you grabbed the picnic basket."
"Even if they won't eat, I know how you get when you are hungry," she chuckled.
I smirked then bit my thumb so that I could summon Ishu while Katye copied my actions to summon her own Lord spirit, Seluna. Ishu appeared as he always did, ripping himself free of the Shadow Realm, but the other had her own way of appearing. First came the sound of hoofbeats and then from the ground up, Seluna formed as she trotted up to Katye. At first glance, she looked to be a simple centaur, but when you looked at her face, you would see the small horn poking up her forehead which was decorated by a jeweled circlet. Her clothes were flowy, covering her small chest, and tribal jewelry covered her arms. She was a royal centaur with the bloodline of a unicorn, or at least, that was what she told us, but she did have an innocent, beautiful charm despite her ghostly appearance.
"You summoned me," Ishu said as usual.
"Yep, we want you two to guard our house, specifically the three people up there," I said, poking up to the second floor.
"Hopefully, you won't need to do anything, but if anyone except the two of us approach, capture them safely, remove their weapons, and drop them into the prison. We are heading into the center of the valley to meet with some people. If you do end up catching some people, Seluna, come and tell me after you both are sure that there is no one else around," Katye added.
"As you command," Seluna replied with a slight bow of her head.
"Absolutely no killing unless they make it to Raven and Echo, and you'll need a good explanation why they got that far which Seluna will have to validate. Understood, Ishu?" I demanded since this was the first time that I would use him against other people.
"I understand," Ishu replied with a bored tone.
"Keep out of sight unless you need to act; we'll be back before sunrise," Katye said.
Both of the ghostly summons seemed to meld with the darkness around us and vanished without a trace. I could vaguely sense Ishu's location, but Seluna was completely hidden from me. Katye and I gave each other a nod and then we both entered the Shadow Realm together. Although we rushed over to Diyoza's ship, we did not immediately exit so that I could meditate to recover my Shadow mana quickly and Katye could spot all of the little groups that were scattered all throughout the forest.
When I had collected what I needed, we stepped into the large field by the ship properly and looked around. There were lights illuminating the area around the ship, but there were no signs of any of the defensive positions that we knew were around. Katye gave me the nod and I excitedly summoned Jabo for the first time since I defeated him half a year ago.
Just like when he appeared in the Shadow Realm, he punched his way through a layer of dirt and slowly pulled himself out. Unlike Ishu and Seluna, his form was more physical because he used the Earth around him to form his Stone Armor. Katye looked up at the twenty-six-foot-tall Rock Giant that towered over us while he looked down at us with a dumb smile on his face.
"Jabo come to help little dragon," he said, his voice deep and gruff.
"Thank you, Jabo. We just need you to..." I started only to be cut off by the sound of gunfire.
Instantly, I shifted into my Dusa form and moved to protect Katye, though it was unneeded as the bullets were aimed at Jabo. The bullets hit his Stone Armor and ripples could be seen in the ghostly blue energy that formed his body, but he took no real damage. With a wave of my hand, I formed a thick stone wall around us then returned to my normal form.
"Just wait here, Jabo, and be a big target," I finished.
"Jabo big!" the Rock Giant said, raising his arms up and flexing his muscles.
"Did you teach him that?" Katye teased.
"No, this is the first time that I've called him," I retorted.
Katye smiled as she pulled the radio out and spoke into it, "Gagarin, please have your men stand down, or we will take it as an attack and the jolly blue giant will permanently ground your ship. You have five minutes to comply."
"Too bad he isn't green, or the joke would have been perfect, even if they don't get it," I chuckled.
"They still have a chance since they predate the first apocalypse. I'm not sure how much of our history overlays with this world's, but it's worth it so long as you get it."
I smiled at her and pulled her close so that I could kiss her, but she only gave me a moment before she pushed me away.
"Focus, we are still in hostile territory," Katye chided.
"You're the one acting cute," I teased.
I stepped out from behind the stone cover and walked a little bit away then started making a large stone gazebo. The structure was not too elaborate with four solid posts that held up the dome roof, but I did add thick Glass walls and a metal door to ensure it could stop a bullet or two. The occasional gunfire stopped while I made the table and chairs inside. Katye joined me inside the building and pulled out a lantern-style light which she switched on.
"Diyoza wanted us to remove Jabo, but I politely told her 'no' then invited her to dinner. We'll see how long it takes for her to join us," Katye said with a chuckle.
"Not too long it would seem," I remarked, noticing the door of the ship opening and light spilling out.
"Hmm..." Katye hummed as she pulled out everything from inside the basket, only caring about what she was about to cook.
Katye had quite literally brought a skillet and enough of venison and vegetables to feed ten people, let alone the three that would be joining us. Even if they did not eat anything, I would have no trouble finishing everything since my appetite had gotten a little out of control the more I had attuned to my Dusa form. I did not 'need' to eat any more than the others, but I would indulge when I could.
While Katye started cooking, manipulating the skillet to float over a ball of flames, I walked over to the door and stepped outside to wait for Diyoza to walk up. I recognized her and Shaw, but the third was unfamiliar to me. Diyoza looked just like she did in the show, tall, long brunette hair that was pulled back, and she was wearing a brown Eligius guard's uniform, including the bulletproof armor and automatic rifle hanging off her shoulder. Shaw was wearing a black version of the guard uniform which complimented his darker complexion. The third was also a man though with a fairer complexion and a tattoo on his cheek.
"Are you Katye?" Diyoza asked as she walked up.
"Nope, I'm Rebecca, the healer. Katye is inside, cooking," I replied with a light smile.
"Then you can come back with me," the third man growled, raising his gun.
"Hugo!" Diyoza snapped, but I had already made my move.
As soon as he started lifting his gun, I channeled my mana and left an afterimage, charging forward. Immediately, I yanked the gun out of his hands and knocked him back on his butt with a shoulder check when he stumbled forward. While Diyoza, Shaw, and Hugo tried to understand how I had moved so fast, I broke the rifle in half with my bare hands.
I gave them all a dangerous smile and said, "While I won't ask you to disarm, pointing a weapon at me will end with it broken; point it at Katye, and I will break your arms. Now please, join us."
I held open the door for them and it took a moment before Diyoza walked in with Shaw a couple of steps behind her. Hugo took a second to stand up and he gave me a hard look while I just smiled at him, threateningly. I had already made up my mind that he was one of McCreary's guys, so I had no problem using more force on him to emphasize my point. He was smart, though, and headed inside, but he was stopped by Diyoza and Shaw who were blocking the way.
Instead of waiting for any of them to move, I stirred my Space mana and teleported passed them. It was the only Space spell that I could use currently, and it was very limited, only allowing me to move up to ten feet in any direction about five times before the headache would set in, but it certainly made an impression. Diyoza and Shaw were even more stunned, and Shaw even looked behind him where I had been standing.
"Ah, it's been a long time since people were shocked by our powers... It brings back memories," I chuckled as I sat down at the table near Katye.
"We aren't going to hurt you, Diyoza. In fact, we would like to ask a simple favor of you and your ship. Please, sit; I'm nearly done," Katye said as she flipped the last of the venison steaks.
I grabbed the thermos that was set out and poured myself and Katye a glass of lemonade since alcohol was not appropriate with Diyoza's condition. The trio remained in the doorway for a few minutes, but by the time that Katye had finished cooking and I had collected a plate of food, they finally took their seats. Katye made her own plate and sat down next to me with a light smile.
"How about we start with a brief history of the world after you left... In the year 2052, a rogue AI managed to launch every nuclear warhead in the world and wiped out most life on Earth which was a hundred and three years ago. There were obviously those who were lucky enough to reach bunkers and there was also a space station orbiting the Earth, though it was forced to come down roughly seven years ago. Six years ago, a power plant in Russia, left over from the Old World, had a melt down and released a Death Wave of radiation which reduced the Earth to its current state.
"The radiation levels have only recently reached a tolerable amount for normal people which means the rest of our people can finally return to the surface and leads me to our request. Your shuttle would allow us to move a much larger group of our people at a time here to the valley than if we had to escort them, and it would be far quicker and easier on the children. If you are willing to help us and dismantle the Damocles Bomb, we will allow you and your people to join ours and grant you a seat on the Council which consults our leader. Although Rebecca and I have… 'retired' from the politics of governing, the Heda, our current leader, knows that you would be arriving and, if you two should meet, it would mean that you have joined Wonkru.
"Your people would still have to abide by the laws of Wonkru, but they are less restrictive than Old World laws, I assure you, and we would grant you the same amenities that we will craft for them. Our powers allow us to easily create stone buildings, a clean power plant, and running water, though our engineers are needed to set up a proper water recycler if we are going to support a larger population. We also have the ability to help with food production and healing illnesses and injuries, so as long as your people are willing to do some work for themselves, things here can be easy and peaceful," Katye explained.
"That's a very tempting offer, heavily slanted towards my people, so you can understand why I don't simply trust your words," Diyoza said after a moment.
Katye nodded her head as she took a couple of bites of her food and agreed, "It is from your perspective, I understand that, but to a man in the desert, a glass of water is more valuable than a mountain of gold. Even after we move our people into the valley, there will still be plenty of room for your people. You may have been judged as criminals in the past, but you all have paid for your crimes and deserve a fresh start. As long as you desire peace, then you are welcome to settle in your 'proper' home here on Earth, and those that do not will be judged as individuals in accordance with the laws. Rebecca and I are merely wanting the human race to continue and learn from our past mistakes."
"Are there a lot of people that have powers like you two?" Diyoza asked.
"Currently, there are only the two of us, but the future holds many possibilities," Katye said with a teasing smile.
"And how did you know about the Damocles Bomb because that is not in our computer bank?"
"I've 'seen' it... destroying the valley. There is another planet that you go to if you find my terms unreasonable, but it is roughly a hundred and twenty-five-year journey, so weigh your options carefully."
"You can see the future?"
"Is that any stranger than what you have already witnessed? I have seen the future, but it was without Rebecca and I apart of it. We are an anomaly within this timeline and have been doing what we can to direct the world into a better direction," Katye retorted.
Before Diyoza could say anything else, something outside drew her attention. I looked over my shoulder and saw Seluna's ghostly form galloping in our direction. She slowed to a walk then phased through the glass like it was not there and gave a slight bow to Katye.
"Mistress, we have captured eighteen humans and cleared the surrounding forest. Is there anything that you require us to do with them?" Seluna asked.
"Return to Ishu and make sure that he isn't harming them anymore than he needs to, to ensure that they don't escape," Katye replied.
"As you command," Seluna replied before she turned and raced back out into the night.
Katye calmly ate the last bites of her food while Diyoza, Shaw, and Hugo sat tensely across from us. She made a point of wiping her mouth before she calmly stated, "I would imagine that McCreary is among those captured since he isn't with your group which could make things difficult for you when he does not return in the morning. Please feel free to come to our home and collect him, and the others, in the morning, but I believe our conversation has come to an end for the evening. If you would like for Rebecca to still heal someone, it will only take a moment."
"You're not going to kill them?" Diyoza asked.
"I should because I am sure that our partners and daughter, which we left behind, would have been subjected to some degrading acts, but I have made a point of judging people only on their actions and not what I have 'seen' or my assumption of what they might do. We went through a lot of trouble to make sure that they could be held safely, but if your ship leaves the valley, we will kill them and take it as you are rejecting our offer. It is your decision."
