Llewelyn murmured.

“I bowed my head moderately, but then I became a little serious. I don’t know why I did that when I was going to threaten them anyway.”

“Good job. It was cool.”

“Huh?”

“No servant wants their master to bow their head.”

“Master… Our bond is not that strong, is it? The same goes for my maids.”

Dane closed his eyes. She was still trying to keep her distance from him.

“Even though there was no such bond, you still came forward.”

“Yeah?”

“The reason why the Princess did not submit and showed her dignity is simple.”

“Why is that?”

“I was there, as were the maids, so you couldn’t just lose.”

Llewelyn’s heart pounded at the sudden realization. In the past, she would have given up her pride. But this time, she didn’t want to give them the upper hand. Why?

She had the Red Knights who protected her no matter what, and a maid who bowed her head and asked for a favor. There was Rosalie who was bullied, and would have suffered if her authority had not been used.

She didn’t do it with any goal in mind. She just didn’t want her maids to be bullied as if it was natural. Strange. She thought that she would never give them affection, so why was she like this?

Llewellyn regretted it a little.

However, it wasn’t a bad feeling.

When Pamela heard the situation, she trembled.

“What? How…how did this happen?”

There was rage on her beautiful face. She was so angry that her body was trembling.

“Ms. Maud is running rampant.”

She bit her lip hard enough to draw blood. She glared at the maid who had delivered the message.

“Did you say that… thing acted like that?”

“Yes.”

“Truly?”

The Mauds were not an honorable family, but they were strong. They were also the family that Pamela was trying to ally with. All of the women that Bastian had slept with were of that family.

Recently, the Duke of Brion’s interference went beyond what was acceptable. Pamela was the illegitimate child of the Duke of Brion, though despite all odds, her half-brother was her most reliable supporter. But the Duke of Brion ignored Pamela.

-An illegitimate child gave birth to an illegitimate child. Did you know that the King married the Princess of Thessaly?

He laughed when she gave birth to Bastian. Pamela would never forget that humiliation. She wanted to destroy the Duke of Brion, and now, she was the mother of the King. Putting aside her half-brother, compared to everything else, wouldn’t it be easy to get rid of one girl?

“Llewelyn…”

Pamela gritted her teeth.

“Those women…”

Pamela couldn’t stand it. She hated Llewelyn and the former Queen, Anne. Anne was a red-headed princess of Thessaly, and Llewelyn was also red-headed. Not to mention her and Bastian…

The Queen has succeeded in getting rid of Anne. No, she’d removed her. Her husband, the previous King, hated Anne’s parents, and harbored a feeling of inferiority towards Thessaly. They had both wanted to kill her.

‘Should I have killed Llewelyn by force?’

Realizing that Llewelyn could not be killed, Pamela decided to play with her instead. Every time she saw her, she was reminded of Anne, as she resembled her a lot. She did feel a little bad. She trampled on a girl who didn’t understand, and used her as an outlet for her anger.

She still didn’t like her face, but seeing her bow down gave her satisfaction, and made her feel that she had done well by not killing her. She wanted to cut Llewelyn’s throat right away, but because of Bastian, she couldn’t.

“It looks as if something is troubling you.”

Pamela remembered that there was a man sitting in front of her. It was Almondite, who was drinking tea.

His turquoise eyes were staring at Pamela. His suit fit snugly on his toned body, and his gorgeous red hair gleamed in the sunlight. He was a man of outstanding appearance.

“Duke of Biserk.”

“Yes?”

“Whose side are you on?”

“Your side, of course.”

He responded leisurely. Pamela asked sulkingly.

“Did you promise to support me after you marry Llewelyn?”

“Yes.”

“Regardless of her right to the throne.”

“Of course. Regardless of her right to the throne.”

Almondite was flexible.

“But aren’t Llewelyn’s actions a threat to the Duke right now?”

“Are they?”

Seeing Almondite puzzled, Pamela became frustrated. Almondite quickly elaborated.

“Anyway, the direct line of the Royal Family has priority. With the reveal of Prince Dion, Princess Llewelyn became collateral, both in name and in reality. Also, Llewelyn’s limbs are severed. What the hell can she do?”

“…”

“Even if I were to support Llewelyn, nothing would change. Biserk is wealthy, but compared to the power of Brion, we have nothing. The families that followed ours turned their backs on us or were eliminated after the execution of Queen Anne.”

“…”

“It was difficult for the Biserk family to find vassals after the death of the late Duke. But isn’t the Queen Mother well aware of this?”

Almondite pointed out coldly.

“Besides, Llewelyn has no will to become Queen. She even made it her goal to go to a monastery. Didn’t Your Majesty know about that?”

“That…”

Pamela had nothing to say.

It was true. Llewelyn was hopeless. All she could do was be courted by Almondite, ride horses, and get minor revenge on Vivian, who had provoked her first.

She didn’t try to rally nobles or recruit the Red Knights who followed her. She also didn’t attend any social activities.

Llewelyn’s actions were small. She was the size of a wriggling earthworm. As this man pointed out, the actions she took were small and insignificant, enough to be overlooked.

As Almondite promised, marrying Llewelyn and allying with Pamela would be a great help. Pamela saw Llewelyn as a thorn in her side, but she knew better. She had no intention to be Queen.

Marrying the Princess of the Royal Family and signing a contract with them would increase Almondite’s power. And Pamela, who made the Duke of Biserk an ally, could keep the Duke of Brion in check, support Bastian, and Dion, who would succeed him. When she became that strong, she would wish for nothing else.

“But Duke Biserk, your actions make me doubt you.”

Pamela decided to admit that all her actions were due to her own hypersensitivity. If Llewelyn was involved, she lost her composure. So Almondite’s courtship with Llewelyn was tentatively accepted. It wasn’t unusual for a love-struck man to court a half-hearted woman.

“My Queen. I have already said that the reason I am moving is because of Llewelyn.”

Pamela pursed her lips. From the day he returned to the Capital, he proudly said he wanted to have Llewelyn. Love. There was a time when Pamela once dreamed of such grand and foolish things.

“That is true.”

“Do you think I will allow my wife to bow her head lowly?”

At Almondite’s rebuttal, Pamela smirked. It was said that the Biserks had weakened a lot, but Almondite was still a duke. If he had children with Llewelyn, where would that noble blood go?

“Yes. Yes, I understand that.”

“Thank you for your understanding.”

He was courteous but not submissive. Having finished his tea, Almondite put down the teacup. He smiled charmingly.

“I am glad that this misunderstanding has been cleared up. I will take my leave.”

Almondite got up. Countess Lian, Pamela’s personal maid, admired his broad back. There was an undeniable greed in her eyes.

“He always looks perfect.”

Despite the words of Countess Lian, Pamela glared at the Duke of Biserk with her jaw clenched. Their entire conversation boiled down to a simple statement. ‘If you react to Llewelyn’s insignificant actions, there is definitely something wrong with you.’

Pamela frowned.

“I have to make Llewelyn a proper golden raven on Founding Day.”

Pamela murmured. At the absurd remark, all of her maids turned to stare at her.

“What?”

“The higher you climb, the more painful it is when you fall.”

Some of the maids smiled.

“But if the Duke of Biserk found out… Would it be okay?”

“The Duke of Biserk can’t say anything. I have control of the palace.”

So what if he found out? She wondered how the Duke of Biserk would react.

“My heart trembles at how beautiful it will be to see the golden raven fall.”

She smiled innocently.
