Chapter 27: Chapter 27 – Recovering Melissa

Due to the urgency, Ashley ran non stop towards Rockhold, fearing that his beloved Melissa would have been melted by now

He got one of the 10 Swords to admit that King Lochland of Petra had taken all the people who had been turned to gold, to melt them down for his own funds!

Sasha, Rancell and Tanya had also heard this, so they could understand the urgency Ashley had

Over the weeks of battle with the lich in Duramar, Ashley had explained to Sasha, Rancell and Tanya who he was and what had happened to him, and also what happened to them even though they didn't remember any of it

He obviously left out some details, like Rancell and Cassie were together, or that they needed to rescue the 3 Demonesses, calling them instead Guardians.

He briefly told them about their life in Ayla, mentioning that Rancell had become Captain of the Guard, while Cassie had joined the guard, after moving over from Ashfall as a Royal Guard. He did mention that he didn't know Tanya in their previous life

To Rancell and Sasha, this was of course alot to take as it seemed so unreal. But Ashley spoke with such convincingness, and hey owed their lives to him anyway.   

Ashley was running at full speed, but was able to be followed by Sasha as she too was now a ancient vampire! Arguably, she was now faster and stronger than him too, since she had her elven physiology, which was superior to him in both speed and strength. 

Rancell and Tanya were S Ranked heroes, and were able to barely keep up, but they didn't have the stamina of Ashley. Tiffany and William however, did have such stamina, on top of having S Ranked physical abilities. Hence, they carried Rancell and Tanya parts of the way

They arrived at Rockhold late at night and immediately started hunting for where the statues could possibly be melted

Eventually after interrogating several people related to the government, Ashley found out that they would have been sent to the Royal Treasury, where their gold coin currency were normally printed!

Smashing through the doors of the factory that was owned by the Royal Treasury, they found the place empty, and their crude machines they use to smelt gold and print them were not in operation

"What is the meaning of this?" a man came, dressed in a nightgown and carrying a light

"Where are the gold statues?" Ashley suddenly appeared in front of him, holding him in the air

"G..gold statues? We've turned them all into gold coins already! The Kingdom is in serious need for more money due to the demon horde attacks, and now the undead attack" he stuttered, not knowing that Ashley had already solved the undead invasion

Ashley was stunned, dropping the man as he looked at the machines

"Destroy them" he said, mentally controlling Tiffany and William who started destroying the machines

"Wait.. what are you doing?" he fearfully asked

But Ashley was already gone!

The Royal Castle main gate burst open

Ashley angrily walked in, killing all the guards that had tried to halt him

He wasn't here to talk, he was here for revenge

He was here to pull everything down, rendering everything rubble

"Stop him" the guards yelled as more and more guards came running

But Ashley was a slaughtering machine, relentless and merciless

Tiffany and William also joined in the mayham, killing all the soldiers and mages who attacked, but Sasha, Rancell, Tanya kept watch outside to warn if any more danger was approaching

Ashley slaughtered his way towards the king. He would get his vengeance!

He barged through the many rooms looking for the royal family who seem to have fled

He entered the main library in search for the King

Suddenly, he saw her, Melissa in all her golden beauty, standing naked in a fountain in the middle of the outside yard, visible from the library

"Melissa!" he said, staring at her beauty

"He's here! Get him!" several guards yelled

He burst out of the window and ran to her statue

Arguably, there should be no place safe for them in the whole of Petra too, but Petra was in chaos

Their 10 Swords had been killed, as well as their summoned heroes. They were vulnerable to attack from beast hordes or other enemies, even the land grabbing neighbors Roslova!

They camped in the open next to a lake. deep in the forest

He put Melissa down, and slowly pulled the tubes out of her body

Finally, he got up and started getting dressed.

Seeing Sasha still with her armor slashed open, they needed to get new clothes

Tiffany and William needed new clothes too, as they were naked. Before this, they looked like mutilated monsters and could get away with being naked, but now they looked like a good looking couple, a gorgeous woman and a handsome man. He needed clothes for them too

Fortunately, Tanya and Rancell have their own clothes, but only had 1 set for themselves

Ashley nodded. A quick detour would be required before going to their next destination, namely the Ancient Dungeon of the Serpent Queen, where Medusa presumably would be
