When I was released from Zelma, it was night. Using [Light Magic] to illuminate the area, I headed to Pops’s store. This time, I wasn’t there on business, but as a customer.
As I opened the swinging door and entered the store, a thick voice welcomed me.
“You’re safe! We’ve been worried about you since the goblin attacks have been increasing rapidly! Didn’t you get attacked on your way back from the dungeon?”
Pops was waving at me from the counter. I held up my hand lightly as if to reply.
“That’s a disturbing story! It was peaceful on the road!”
The restaurant was crowded with customers, so it would be annoying to talk to them. I decided to sit down in an empty seat.
“Two ales for now.”
“It’ll be right with you!”
I ordered from Helmine, who was nearby, and finally felt at ease. It had been a raging day.
Starting with a hungover Nobleman and ending up being threatened by another Nobleman, I haven’t had any luck since I left the party. If I had been a normal person, I would have been stuck in this situation several times.
This request in particular would have been impossible to accomplish if it had been anyone but me …… That’s why Zelma caught me, though.
The next task is the 2nd investigation, but it will be a little while before we can actually move. Before that, we also need to inform the family of Christo’s death and get all the formalities done.
I think it’s a good idea to forget about the Aristocrats with alcohol for today.
“Thank you for waiting.”
Two wooden mugs filled to the brim with ale were placed with a bang.
I looked up to see Sophie with an intimidating smile on her face.
It was different from Zelma’s, quiet but terrifying, with the air of an assassin.
“Oh, thank you.”
I don’t know what it is, but she seems to be upset. I’m really, really not having a good day.
As if to escape, I poured the ale down my throat in one gulp and drank it down.
“Fu~uu ……”
I was expecting her to be gone in the meantime, but it was the other way around.
