Su Han nodded and accepted the name card. He dully replied, “I still have work to attend to. You should keep your father company.”
Dong Lin nodded and hurried to the emergency room.
With people coming and going in the hospital, the scene did not draw much attention. After all, death was common in hospitals.
Several nurses gathered around Su Han during his return to the Patient Help Desk. They heard that even Dong Lin was respectful towards Su Han!
“Are you really a doctor?”
“Did you really not graduate from university?”
“Did you really save the old man’s life?”
Su Han was bombarded with questions the moment he returned. He could only wave his arm and smile. “I was lucky. Old Xu and Old Zhang did most of the work prior and I came in at the right time.”
He wanted to be away from the limelight in avoidance of stirring more trouble. He was here on internship and once he obtained his internship certificate, he would have to figure out ways to secure his medical practitioner qualification certificate.
Su Han gave limited vague answers so as to avoid this group of little nurses spreading tales and complicating things.
He was only a student that failed to graduate. No one would believe his medical skills were better than Old Xu and Old Zhang.
The little nurse had also made her way back. She stared at Su Han with a complicated look on her face.
Gently pursing her lips, she walked towards Su Han and asked with a muffled voice, “Are you really a miracle doctor?”
“What do you think?” As the little nurse left a good impression on Su Han, he winked and smiled.
The little nurse could not hold back her giggles but before she could reply, she heard her colleague letting out a soft cough in the back. She turned and was greeted by a stunning albeit angry face. It was the president of Qiaoshi Corp!
Qiao Yushan received a call about Dong Lin seeking treatment for his father. She came specially to pay a visit, unaware she would bump into Su Han the second she entered the lobby.
The little nurse stuck out her tongue before making a turn to jump into work alongside the other little nurses. Su Han continued to watch, not knowing what to say as Qiao Yushan walked over with a growing grimacing face.
“Is this how you carry out your internship?” Qiao Yushan was furious but more so disappointed. She was aware that Liu Cheng arranged for Su Han to have a job at the Patient Help Desk and rearranged him with a better position in mind. However, on second thought, she perceived it was better for Su Han to face the fact that the distance between them was far too wide.
Yet, the moment she walked in, this b*stard was hardly serious at work?
Qiao Yushan was overwhelmed with annoyance. “For a man without capabilities, what good are you other than the gift of the gab to deceive a young girl?”
Su Han opened his mouth to try to explain but Qiao Yushan had already turned away. All that he got wind of was Qiao Yushan mumbling under her breath. “Why do I have to marry someone useless?”
Gazing at Qiao Yushan’s receding figure, Su Han shook his head and answered, “You’ve misunderstood. Apart from the internship, I’m here to break off the engagement with Grandfather Qiao. I don’t like you so I won’t marry you. You can lead a horse to the water but you can’t force it to drink. Don’t put too much thought into it.”
Qiao Yushan made a U-turn and came back. Her widened eyes fixated on Su Han. Break off the engagement? Lead a horse to the water but can’t force it to drink?
Su Han mentioned that he did not like her? She did not tickle his fancy?

It was not as though she pestered him to marry her.
Qiao Yushan was trembling out of anger. Pointing her finger at Su Han, she gnashed her teeth with blood-shot eyes. “What are you saying? I put too much thought into it? I don’t take a fancy to you!
Growing up, she was the center of attention. The number of people who admired and wooed her could form a line from the west to the south city district. For Su Han to claim that she did not tickle his fancy was preposterous!
Qiao Yushan coldly snorted. She lost all faith in Su Han for trying to attract her attention this way while clearly aware that he did not measure up to her. He was such a disappointment.
Without saying more and before Su Han could react, she immediately walked away. She did not want to look at this man for another second.
Su Han helplessly spread his palms at the sight of Qi Yushan leaving. “Why is she angry when I’m being honest?”
He left Tianhai City for many years. Moreover, he was only in his teens when he first met Qiao Yushan. What sort of feelings could he develop for her other than being friends?
In his journey to Tianhai for the internship, Su Han did indeed have the intention to break off the engagement arranged by the old Taoist devotee and Grandfather Qiao. Su Han and Qiao Yushan did not know each other well. Without any relationship fostered between them, there was no meaning to the marriage.
“Women are the most peculiar creature.” Su Han shook his head at that thought and took his mind off it. Once he was done with his business here, he would head to the Qiao residence to make things clear with Grandfather Qiao.
The few little nurses were itching with curiosity to see Qiao Yushan leaving in a huff.
This was a guy at the Patient Help Desk who Dong Lin was polite to and had now enraged Qiaoshi Corp’s female president. What sort of person was he?
“Waner, you don’t have a chance. Your Brother Su seemed to be involved with President Qiao.” One of the nurses teased.
“What are you talking about!” Stealing a glance at Su Han, Li Waner quickly explained. She was intrigued by this newly arrived medic intern.
Was he really a student that had not graduated? He did not seem so judging by his success in rescuing the elder. Li Waner was clear that Su Han was trying to keep a low profile. She was not going to make irresponsible remarks to stir trouble for Su Han.
However, she refused to believe that he was only an ordinary man. No ordinary man would have exceptional skills.
Su Han remained occupied, providing patients with answers and directing them to the relevant doctor and pharmacy. Patient and attentive to detail, his seriousness at work was a charming asset.
After making through the laborious day, Su Han let out a long sigh of relief. It was hard work at the Patient Help Desk.
Nevertheless, it was worth the trouble to have patients meeting doctors and obtaining medicine in time for a speedy recovery.
After a change of wardrobe in the changing room, Su Han put on his knapsack in preparation to head to the Qiao residence to make things clear with them.
The Qiao family was the most influential family in Tianhai City. Qiaoshi Corp built a huge reputation in the medical territory in Tianhai City. The founder of Qiaoshi Corp, Qiao Jianrong spent his life establishing a better medical environment.
The medical properties under the Qiao family were not all for profit but channeled most of their funds into research and public medical access, earning the company great prestige in Tianhai City.
Su Han caught a cab to the Qiao family’s residential compound. He informed the guards of his purpose before taking strides into the compound. There, he encountered Qiao Yushan’s Porsche.
Su Han walked into the house and found Qiao Yushan sitting on a couch in the living room. The latter was taken aback by Su Han’s sudden visit but the surprise was soon taken over by rage.
Was this b*stard here to humiliate her by dropping in to break off the engagement?
