I should have never trusted this Nicobolmo or Nico or whatever he calls himself, what will he gain by pretending to be grandpa's son? we both know that is a big lie. I always had the feeling I shouldn't trust him.
He walks behind me and each time I turn around to look at him he smirks, I can't wait to talk to him and find out what hell he is planning, finally we enter the cold palace, I chose that place for him, quite detached from the rest of the palace and a perfect place for us to talk.
"What hell is going on?" I scroll as I shut the door hard behind us, "What do you mean niece?" he asked with a dumb face, one of his specialties is changing his voice tone, "Don't you play dumb with me and don't use that voice?" I growl.
"Fine Nancy, you are the only one that recognizes me so what? I'm not the prince so what? I want to be the king it's simple," he finally came clean with his intentions.
"Why is that?" I asked confused I can't wrap my head around it, he has great powers that he can do anything he wishes why the throne of Zamuniland?
I can't even tell grandma about it because she is never going to forgive me, if I had told her the truth from the start maybe she would have done something about it, I hope it is not too late to fix this.
"What are you thinking about? don't worry your pretty head about it Nancy there is nothing you can do to stop this," he said with a smirk on his face.
"I love this place actually," he mumbled, "and the bed is big, quiet and I miss doing this," he scoffs as he spreads his giant wings, "This feels so good," he mumbles lengthening himself as I look at him angrily and yes I feel helpless but he must be damn wrong if he thinks I'm going to let him mess with my brother or have his way.
"This is far from over Nicoblomo," I threaten with a deadly gaze at him, "It's NICO, niece, NICO," he chuckles, it seems I'm the only person that knows his real name. Is he hiding a secret? I must find out.
he watches me leave and not turn once to look back, I scream out loud and with frustration throw a fist into the wall, I can threaten or compel him if I knew what he is hiding but how? Every admiration and respect I had for him as my teacher vanished and is being replaced by pure hatred.
"My princess are you okay?" a maid asked concerned when she saw my hand bleeding.
"Move aside I'm fine," I said in a daze.
Just then Zenab arrived at the scene, "I knew I shouldn't have let you go with him alone," he whispered softly taking my hands in his as blow air on it, "does it hurt?" He ask while I was still lost somewhere in my thoughts.
I shake my head as he continues to blow more air on it, he uses his dress to clean the surface of the wound.
"What happened?" He asked again now letting go of my hands as the maids steal glances at us.
It is already widely known in the palace how the crown prince treats the royal Princess, his manners and softness when it comes to me makes him widely admire among the palace guards and maids.
And I don't know how this works no matter how you try to hide something in the palace it gets out.
"It's nothing Zenab, Nicobol...I mean Nico loves his room, I just stumbled and use my hand for support that is why I got this," I said almost mentioning Nico's full name well of course if that is his full name, Luckily he wasn't paying much attention.
"I see you stumbled that hard?" Zenab asked.
"Yes now let go this is nothing stop whining like a kid," I whispered in his ears.
"Really now," he chuckled as we walk back.
"How is grandma?" I asked.
"Well I thought I will check on you first before I go see her, we can go together," he whispers with a smile as he puts his hands behind his back.
He is still receiving congratulatory greetings for having two babies on the way.
Shortly after we got to grandma's chamber. She looked pale and it was the first time seeing her without any make-up or putting on heavy pieces of jewelry and her crown and also the first time seeing her hair loose around her neck. she looks like a goddess she is a goddess I huff.
For a moment I thought I enter the wrong room but Zenab walk to her I suppose he has seen her like that many times.
"Grandma, how are you feeling? Should I get the royal doctor?" Zenab asked concerned as I walk closer to them.
"I'm fine Zenab, no need to call the doctor. Come sit down beside me you two," she instructed as we obeyed.
"Nancy this time around I want to rest and not get involved with the power struggle in the palace, with an illegitimate son in the picture, I don't know what to do, do me a favor and fight this war beside your brother and promise me he will be the next king of Zamuniland," grandma whispered as she holds my hands.
Why is grandma speaking as if she is ready to die? And just now she is asking me to protect the throne with my powers.
"Grandma please don't talk this way," Zenab sobs.
"Promise me, Nancy," she said again looking at me, I'm frightened if I promise her she won't hesitate to leave us.
"No!" I said thinking out loud as grandma and Zenab stare at me and wondered why I look so terrified, I can't handle Nico by myself and I need grandma here she can't leave.
"I mean Zenab is the only person that will become king, you and I will make sure of that," I whispered trying to explain myself,
"grandma you can't just believe grandpa cheated on you and lied to you for many years, I agreed I didn't meet grandpa but that man is an imposter, he is no son of grandpa in fact his real name is NICO...." I said all in one breath before I realized I was saying too much, grandma is angry and I can't tell her the whole truth now.
"Nancy, what do you know that we don't?" Zenab asked as they both turn to fix their gaze on me.
How do I get out of this? "Well, I don't know much, just like you," I whimper lowering my gaze.
"Then how sure are you, he is an imposter?" Zenab asked.
"Because I just feel it and because grandpa will never hurt grandma this way," I hope I was convincing enough, please don't ask another question, I prayed bitting my lips and holding my breath.
"That's enough, and Nancy until we are able to prove otherwise he is the son of your grandfather but all that doesn't matter, what really matters now is a way to make the people of Zamuniland choose Zenab as their king," grandma mumbles, "alright go now I want to rest, I trust you two can protect these lands," grandma added as she waves her hand in the air asking us to go.
That was when I was able to breathe probably, I wonder what that means, does she know everything? Should I just tell her? Damn, I hate feeling helpless.
"Okay grandma, have some rest now," Zenab whispers as he stood on his feet calmly.
Zenab and I step out of grandma's chamber, with one look at him I know he didn't buy my answer back inside, does grandma also feel the same way?
"Okay bye, I'm going to my chamber now!" I said as I strode away before he asks me any questions.
"Nancy," I heard him call behind me.
"Later Zenab," I said increasing my pace, thank goodness he didn't follow me.
"Hey, girlfriend who are you running away?" Betty asked when she saw me panting.
They staggered me, "Goodness what are you all doing here?" I whimper when I saw all of them in my room.
"Well Pana said there is trouble in the palace, so we wanted to know how we can help," Roland whispered as I scroll my eyes towards Pana,
"Nothing to worry about just palace issue, um let's eat something, Pana tell them to set the table," I ordered taking a seat as the twin ran to me.
"Food! Great idea," Betty rumbles.
"Are you sure you are okay you look absentminded?" Roland whispers into my ears as I nod my head.
"I miss Baby that's all," I whimper. The table was soon set and we all sat around the table to have dinner but I was absentminded do I have to worry about Baby too? he promised me he won't stay long.
I miss him, I wish he was here. please come fast at least I can open up to him at least.
"Don't worry baby doll, your husband will soon come," Betty whimpered with her mouth full she just happen to read my mind as I let out a chuckle.
