"You are finally here...you b*stard!!!!"
Max had just been talking to Mark when he heard the shout and the next instant everyone moved from their spot.
"Clang!"
A silver light flashed with a metallic clang and the ground was immediately left with deep sword marks…
Max turned around to see Lear above in the sky looking at him with eyes full of rage.
Both of his hands were holding some kind of sword...or whip? Well it looked like a soft sword with several flexible blades protruding out of the hilt.
Max remembered Lear talking about the sword once. But the things was a 6★ weapon called Urumi. It's price was way higher than a normal 6★ weapon because of its unique structure which required a lot of skill and time….and they didn't have that much money back then...
But now they had..still, Max didn't remember giving him any money….and one more thing, why in hell was this guy flying…
"You fooled me yesterday. Can't believe I was touched by your friendship for a second when you messaged me.. " Lear said with gritted teeth.
The scene was still pretty clear in his mind. What he had witnessed after he entered the restaurant room had definitely wiped the smile away from his face….
But that wasn't even the beginning….that night he dragged a half naked Axel with kiss marks all over his body and a vomiting Kevin….
Only he knew how he had controlled himself from dumping them in the sewers half the way….
"Calm down...I had to leave due to urgent work…I definitely paid for your food…" Max said with a forced smile.
"You really think I would believe that…" Lear said as he whipped out his sword once again.
Max moved away but the blades followed him like snakes. It began to expand and chase him down.
"You are going to run all along?" Lear said when he realized that his blades couldn't keep up with Max's speed and hence, he retracted his blades.
"Just because you got a few overpowered weapons…you think you can beat me?" Max asked with a laugh.
"I don't mind giving it a try…" Lear said with a smile. He had fought with August and Wilson yesterday night in anger and managed to hold out against the two for a while before being beaten black and blue….he was sure that he could hold onto Max for a good while as well….
Lear flicked his wrist and sent his blades out.
"Whoosh!"
Max looked at dozens of blades making their way towards him and smiled, "Domain.."
Lear's eyes widened when all his blades froze in mid-air even before reaching Max.
He tried to exert his control over his blade but found that the part of the blade which had entered within 20 meters range of Max had lost its connection to him. He couldn't feel any mana….
"Scree!!!"
Flames rose from Max's body and congealed into the figure of Phoenix.
'Sh*t!' Lear cursed and god knows from where brought out a shield, another piece of high-grade equipment. It was a 8★ shield….
Did this guy win a jackpot?
Max had been planning to hold back but seeing that Lear had brought out the shield, he decided to strike with 30% of his strength.
"Bang!"

Lear fell to the ground unscathed but totally exhausted.
"F*ck! You got stronger again…" Lear looked at Max as if he was a monster.
Lear had reached the mid stage of Advance Tier and just a tiny bit away from entering the late stage. With his current stage, he could fight a weak Advance tier mage at the top if he pulled out the weapon in his hand. After all, the weapon with his variant element couldn't be any more perfect. Hence, he was a bit confident but...looking at Max now...
At most Max should have been an Expert Tier mage...didn't Lear go down too fast…he should have been able to fight a bit and slowly get beaten into submission...
But he was almost one hit down here...Lear was almost as strong as the lower celestials….and all it took was one hit?
What was the point of competition with a freak like Max participating?
"Where did you get the shield from? If you pour all your mana, it can probably save you from a hit of an Expert Tier Mage.." Max said as he looked at the shield. The equipment's grade was too high for Lear to use, it need a peak Master Tier Mage to be able to properly use it.... for Lear at most it could be used like a one-time item…
But, items above 8★ wasn't easy to get even if you have money. Where in hell did he get the shield..
Soon, Max found all about it as Lear's anger calmed down after suffering a humiliating defeat.
It seemed that Lear had made the Headmaster shed tears of blood. The headmaster had promised to finance them. He didn't only give Axel a limitless credit card but even opened his personal inventory…
Lear seemed to have taken the 8★ shield from the headmaster's personal collection.
As for why he could fly, he was circulating mana through his shoes to float. The shoes had some rare light weighted metallic ore ingrained in it....flying wasn't the right word for him instead walking on air suited him better....
"Let's go, we shall look through the headmaster's inventory and see if there is anything useful…" Wilson said he looked at Max and revealed an evil smile.
Max smiled in return as if he understood what he meant.
The others looked at the two not being able to understand the reason behind their wicked smile.
And then they left to loot….the headmaster had no idea that his inventory would be emptied today...
After all, even if they didn't find anything suitable for them, that didn't mean they couldn't sell it for money….
Later that evening…
Everyone was finally in the Academy and it was time to decide on how to counter Orca now that they had data on their event.
"Boss, I am here!!"
"Boss!!"
"Boss!!"
Max was suddenly surprised to hear the shout and saw Eren with a group of people who were all apparently members of Max's fan club.
They were all among High Tier and were the strongest students among the commoners after Mark and Eren.
Max had thought that his reputation would take a hit with his identity as noble being revealed. But it didn't turn out like that. Bahamut had said the same thing to Max, his reputation in the noble circle was shitty...on the other hand, his reputation in the commoner's eyes only rose after his identity was revealed. After all, someone(Bahamut) started to spread the words about him...being a True Noble….
Bahamut had manipulated his story and had given conclusive evidence from when he was in Arcane and how he fought to protect all fellow students and got lost in the beast horde.
That was something anyone could find if they had their means and that is what helped Max to retain most of his followers, but still there was a group of people who were criticizing him and it seemed that someone was fanning flames from the shadows as well…
The secret cult within the Academy was most likely behind it…
Max has only seen the joker face who had once pursued Eren….he had no idea about other members...but if these b*stards were to make their appearance in front of Max once again, he would surely let them know the consequences of getting in his way.
